There's no problem if anyone wants to wear hijab, the problem is that you cannot wear it where in a public school, or in the military on NYSc since Nigeria is run on secular constitutions. You cannot have different laws for the same institution. Best option is to let people who wear 'hijab 24/7' go to an islamic school,where nobody would complain.
Christians go to Christian schools and Seminaries and convents and monasteries where their faith are undisturbed.

After merging Baptist high school with Ansarudeen grammer school, that one no do you u still want them to wear hijab in a Baptist school. E no sound silly to you? If they want to wear hijab they should go to Islamic school. Hijab is not part of school uniform, Education is different from culture and religion.

The only solution to this nonsense is to change those missionary schools to Bokusoro gram, ikulekoko high school or Anjolaaregbe secondary sch, then hijab can work.

That is how radicalization always start. Bringing religion into secondary schools. When their parents attended school did they wear hijab ? Did that make them unqualified for their heaven ? If not why now ? If Christians allow this they will later ask to be excused from classes to say their 5 times a day prayers. Public schools should not bend rules based on religion otherwise their would be confusion. Islam is not the only religion in the world. If Islam is to be accommodated then others also.

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, on Wednesday, said if Muslim students continue to wear hijab to public schools in Osun state, Christian pupils will equally not stop wearing church garments and other apparels.
This declaration was made known by the Vice Chairman, VC, of CAN in the state, Pastor Moses Ogundeji.

This is coming after the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, restated that no student is allowed to put on unauthorized uniforms to school in the state, following the instruction of CAN in the state that students should go to school in church garments.

DAILY POST gathered that some students of Baptist High School, Iwo stormed the school, wearing different church garments on Wednesday in continuation of the Tuesday drama but were prevented from going inside.

In their response to the governor, CAN is insisting that the governor should be ready to expel all students in the state, if Christians and Muslim students cannot be treated alike.

While fielding questions from journalists at the venue of the prayer meeting the association called on the hijab controversy in Osogbo on Wednesday, the VC said, “If the governor is fighting for the right of the Muslims, we will also fight for the right of the Christians.

“He should be ready to expel those wearing hijab because hijab was never part of the school uniform,” Ogundeji added.

The Secretary of CAN, Apostle Joseph Olaide, also said while addressing the gathering, that Christian students cannot be stopped from wearing church garments, adding that CAN should be notified if security men arrested any of the pupils, saying the leadership would take up the case.

Meanwhile, CAN and Muslim leaders are to meet with the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi today to resolve the situation and avert any crisis that may erupt from the controversy.

The CAN of Osun chapter are very sentimental, bias and lack moral standard to call for wearing of church garment to school by the pupils.
HIJAB was ban in Lagos while having a Muslim as sitting governor but court injunction ruled in favour of the government pronouncement. Muslims in Lagos did not take any wrong or conflicting steps like that of Osun but rather take a redress at the appeal court.

Likewise in Osun state where the judgement is in favour of the Muslim students. If the CAN leaders are wise enough, let them go to court rather than creating and constituting nuisance.

Mind you female Muslims are enjoins to wear hijab as contains in the Quran. Its stated in Quran chapter 24.
There is no record of dress code for Christian in the bible but i have seen hundreds of holy Mary pictures with hijab.

CAN are just been unreasonable. It's a law in Islam for females to cover their head and it has been in existence since b4 I was born. I don't think there is a law in the Bible that say xtians should always wear their choir uniform or church robes. Later they will say it's the Muslims that are not peaceful.
