They've both made 8 appearances so if Torres is not good because he's yet to score, what of Dzeko? Dzeko's goals came against Notts County and Aris Saloniki; really weak sides. Copenhagen? Copenhagen drew 1-1 with Barca at home and defeated Man Utd a couple of seasons back. Copenhagen are not in the same league as Aris or Notts County. |

The World Cup winner again cut a ghostly figure playing through the centre of the home side’s attack, and even a fine second half header that required a fingertip save from Edwin van der Sar failed to disguise what was another quiet performance from the Spaniard. Indeed, it was his first period overhead kick that ended up travelling away from the United goal that better summed up his evening, and his Chelsea career to date. Even the basics seemed to be lacking from the 27-year-old’s game. @dayo, Actually I don't blame Torres for not scoring, not with the current state of the Chelsea middle. With 4-4-2, Torres has to drop deep and retrieve balls, something he's never been able to do well. He's more tuned towards getting the ball in a good area, and finishing. |

Chelsea's top scorer is Drogba with 9 or 10 goals, that says it all. Their midfield is dead, they hardly create chances. |

^^ Was Drogba also the ne responsible for his woeful record with the NT? I have never seen a player so much excuse is made up for than Torres. If one can play in front of Xavi and Iniesta who literarily suffocate you with passes and still remain potent. Spain and Chelsea play different styles, the only common thing is that Torres is failing in both. Who is to blame? The pitch? Oval ball, Fans or covered stadium? |

This only lends credence to my view that Chelsea's midfield is dead and lack any form of creativity. dayokanu:Torres has only played 690 minutes for Chelsea, I don't understand why you are in a hurry to label him a flop. How many goals did Benzema score in his first season with Madrid? Gomez in his first season with Bayern? Torres, a failure for Spain? Despite Spain's vast wealth of attacking talents, he has remained a permanent feature over the years. If he were poor, he'd have been dropped, it's that simple. |

What of Dzeko, he has played more minutes than Torres and is yet to score a league goal. He was on for 90 minutes yesterday and couldn't even get a sniff of goal. Benzema scored 9 goals in his first season with Madrid. Of course, he must have gone over 690 minutes without a goal lize Dzeko  |
