It is a tragic story but I don't understand why he just shot without saying a word. He knew he wasn't alone in the house - I feel for the poor lady he killed.

The groom must be crazy, what is the meaning of that? does it mean that anybody who came into their room at that moment can also be shut simply because he has gun for protection?
