Deltamani: You didn't seem to get my point. I applauded the fact that the core of the team is available and hoped that the friendly will help the team gel more. I however noted that Randy has a responsibility to build a competitive bench and the list unfortunately didn't do justice to that I'm my opinion. I'm aware of Nicole and Onyi's situation, any of the other guys can also get injured, what happens when situations like that arise? |

daveP: The list look good though but not the way you’re seeing it.. Even the likes of Deborah Abeodun will find it hard as her position is stacked with Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Regina Otu. She have them to beat to a spot.. Attacking Midfield wise, Okobi, T Payne and Onyi Echegini is another big option who’s currently hot in form.., she will definitely go Pro next year or wait till January 2024 for the NWSL College Draft which i don’t think she would wait for. |

Deltamani: Well with this carpi, e no go surprise me if she, one of top 3 performers of u20 is not picked, especially if Abiodun is picked ahead. Whether position is stacked or not. Onye is so so talented she looks like what we've been Missing, attack-wise, in the SNR team. I'll watch more of Echegini. But the other 2.... Regardless, 3 of u20 should be on the standby. Besides if Imuran and Demehin are good enough for the main team, with, without competition, Zidane does too 1 Like |

daveP: Onyi Echegini is such a big talent that can really blossom if Randy gradually brings her into the Attacking Midfield.. Her talents looks exceptional with her abilities to shoot at sight with both feet’s, can easily work her way from the middle to the flank and deliver delicious crosses (ground level, middle level and up balls) .. Again she’s has a good height and a Powerful baller too. With more time she can actually dominate the midfield for us… Watch this… https://www.instagram.com/reel/CilKgwsOvhd/?igshid=MDE2OWE1N2Q= |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:41am On Sep 20, 2022 |
mostob: Tony Payne can actually slot in the Right Back position if the need arises and Alozie moved to the bench, Desire Oparanozie is more a sure banker as her return will kick Maclean’s out going by experience too. Ify is Randy favourite Striker, he would even try dropping her last last he would only bench her except injury that can result to her dropping.. Monday Gift to come in for who? Peace Efih for who? 1 Like |

We Nigerians always like to rely on the past, as opposed to moving forward. We all saw Oparanozie's mediocre performance over the last 3 times she played on the team. Oparanozie is old and tired, which is understandable for someone who has been playing for the Falcons since 2010 - not to mention the Nigerian league for some years before that. Its time to move forward and explore younger, quicker and more agile players, instead of those on the cusp of retirement. Between Oshoala, Ajibade, Onumonu and Uchenna Kanu, we have much better forwards, than the sluggish, tired and spent Oparanozie. Deltamani: 1 Like |

AkinDS: But I will boldly say that since Oparanozie absence Superfalcons still don’t have a better top9 yet… or should I say a Complete no.9 |
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 2:39pm On Sep 20, 2022 |
Lets dive into this a little... What exactly did she bring to the table as a top 9? For example, lets review goals on the national team - Oparanozie scored 22 total (5 for U20, 17 for SF) over 12 years - Oshoala has scored 29 total (7 for U20, 22 for SF) over 9 years So, what exactly makes her a 'Complete' striker? Her pace? Her assists? Her dribbling skills? Her ability to 'high press'? Sorry, but I really don't know what other attributes make her superior to the other ladies I have listed, who play and have played at a much more higher level than her recently. Our team is more fluid and faster up front now, than when she was there. She actually slowed down the pace of the attack, with Ordega and Oshoala providing the pace up front. We are better off without her in the mix, to be honest. Deltamani: |
