No news on the girls after winning the trophy last week. Am guessing they're lodged in one hotel in Abuja waiting for presidential reward.

I saw a report somewhere that they would be hosted by the president today (or tomorrow) ..But Pinnick has promised that their world cup camp will open in January

If camp opens in January, then that would be the bestest ever thing to happen to the falcons. It looks like Presidency was on hand to receive them. I am quite happy that the SSG was at the airport waiting for the team. That is big!

Yea.. the January camping is a good thing.
but it would b better if they play a friendly match too rather than just training

I mean real friendlies.. not the rubbish they played in the buildup to the AWCON
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 10:16pm On Dec 07, 2018
3-4 friendlies next year, in addition to a camping period, should be adequate preparation.

BTW, FIFA permits WC teams to name a max of 50 and a minimum of 23 players on their prelim lists, which means that Dennerby would name 48 players again grin

For flights longer that 4 hours, FIFA would pay for business flight tickets for up to 35 members of a national delegation (players and officials)

Final confirmation of the pots for tomorrow’s World Cup draw, which starts at 6pm Nigerian time.

We sure are the top team in pot 4. We should be able to get good friendlies with teams in each pot.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 12:53am On Dec 08, 2018
Best possible draw would be: Australia, Norway, Thailand, Nigeria

Worst possible draw: France, Japan, China PR, Nigeria.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 1:06am On Dec 08, 2018
The NFF would receive at least $480,000 (N174.7 million) in preparation grants for the WWC. The total preparation grant to be disbursed to the 24 participating FAs would be $11,520,000.
*Exchange rate of N364=$1.

Then at the tournament each team is guaranteed to receive $750,000, provided they place between 17th-24th
9th -16th placed teams receive $1,000,000; while the overall winners receive $4 million.

South Africa have zero chance of winning or drawing any game. If we win one game and draw one, then we qualify in 2nd place. France will wipe us well.

England and Scotland will meet in their opening game at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, with the Lionesses also facing a re-match of the 2015 semi-final clash with Japan.

Group A – France, South Korea, Norway, Nigeria
Group B – Germany, China, Spain, South Africa
Group C – Australia, Italy, Brazil, Jamaica
Group D – England, Scotland, Argentina, Japan
Group E – Canada, Cameroon, New Zealand, Netherlands
Group F – USA, Thailand, Chile, Sweden,

Hosts France open the finals on 7 June against South Korea, Les Bleues also facing 1995 winners Norway and African champions Nigeria.

Twice winners Germany go up against Spain, China and newcomers South Africa.

Australia are again grouped with Brazil, plus Italy – who have not made it since 1999 – and first-time Caribbean qualifiers Jamaica

England go head to head with Scotland and the Lionesses have a repeat of the last semi-final loss to 2011 champions Japan, while Argentina are back for the first time in 12 years.

Canada will take on European champions Netherlands, as well as Oceania champions and Cameroon for their second successive finals.

Top-ranked USA and Sweden are in the same section, together with Thailand and debutants Chile.

The four best third-placed teams from the six groups advance to the knockout stage along with the six group winners and six runner up.

The fact that France hammer us 8-0 in a friendly doesn't make them invincible. SF should start their preparation ASAP. Am banking on them to win this group.
As for RSA, they need a massive improvement in the final third. All those passes won't win you matches.

It will be very difficult for the French side to beat us this time around.... If they are to win it won't be easy for them and they might escape with 1nil victory.
We have physical strength and pace than the South Korean sides.... Ordega and Oshoala can really outpace them well...with Oparanozie having her own way of bullying past them...

I pray Onome Ebi retains this her form till the World Cup... She really had a nice tournament in Ghana, The way she kept Thembi Kgatlana #11 of South Africa silent in the Final of the AWCON really amazed me... she should be prepared to face Le Sommer of France,,, Isabel Herlovson of Norway.
As for Isabel Herlovson she is already at 30yrs so is an easy task for Ebi..

This is world cup, not nations cup. Our attack needs massive improvement if we're to do anything meaningful in France.

Don't forget about that Lyonnais woman who recently won the Balon Dor, 23 year old Ada Hegerberg. That is the lady we should be wary of in the Norwegian team and not Isabel.

Against the Norwegian side it will be an open game for both teams... Ada and Adriene Hergeberg are not playing for the Norwegian national team due to some issues not yet settled...
Ada Hergaberg who plays for Lyon Women Football Club in France is One of the most prolific top 9 in the Women's Football game, she won't be available to face the Superfalcons except the issues is been resolved before then. Norway's Ada Hegerberg wins women's Ballon d'Or ...
