How many do you know have had success in that extension
What if he has a strategy that works out well for him

You got put all these into consideration,
If one person is successful in a particular extension it doesn't gurantee your success too.

But when you hear at least a good number of people that sell .co
You should use there price to evaluate what the market is like

What the person I responded to wanted to do is domain forwarding to Namerific which is not free at Netsol but free at the mentioned sites. You can still register domain at netsol for $4.99 with any network, but often works with Glo.
