It is high time Companies like this that have no love of their customers welfare because of their own gain left Nigeria. Let all those that are otherwise stay even if it remains one or two we are OK.

Let them tell us how much they make in a day from Nigerians and you will see that greed is the virus in the system of this idiotss.

They must be making 10 times of what they make in their country SA in Nigeria, because very few South Africans use MTN. Ask ppl that are there.

Let them leave our Nation period.

Make dem try am na. This is highly ludicrous of MTN to think of this. The millions accruing to them as revenue daily is not enough, there want more. Nonsense!

I remember when this "Money Taking Network" came to Nigeria selling a sim as high as 60,000naira with minimum airtime of N6,000 and N5 abi N10 per mins, they made crazy money but thank God for Glo who break their useless jinx and now they are saying whatsapp and viber should be banned.

If any telecom operator is not ready for business, make them park their useless luggages out of the country.

Thank God I stop using their line for browsing. I will forever be grateful to glo even though their network atimes is fluctuating, though they have improved of recent.

Btw, this useless network was the 1st to send data price increase when NCC enforced it. That goes tell you that they are the mainstream together with other small telcos to effect the hike in data price

This is the same network that used to say that there is nothing like PER SECOND billing until GLO start billing per second. They used to round up the call to the minute. U call for 1mins 20secs and you get billed for 2 mins. They ran that scam for a long time before GLO saved us.

They paid a lot of money in Ghana to block GLO into coming in for a long time before they could no longer.

If not for the thousands of jobs they offer Nigerians, i will like to see them go.

Technology is a double edge sword. The same way they took business from NITEL, Post office, DHL and transport companies, the same way whatsapp is taking their business.

Before, people used to go to NITEL to call. They used to send people to travel and deliver message and send messages thru post office.

That got eliminated cos phones came along. Why didn't those ppl cry about eliminating MTN?

Even with whatsapp, you need data to call, hence they are still seeing some money unlike NITEL and Post office who has ZERO benefits from introduction of handsets.

I hope he is just joking

Have they ask the South African government to block these services in their home country? If no.. Then this tells us how they see the Nigerian people and the government.

i agree with what MTN is saying...wassap is worth billions yet it does not contribute to Nigeria in any way

Wassap is almost useless, only good at spreading fake job rumors and fake prayers...i wonder who has come out to testify that wassap has given him or her a job

abeg make dem ban wassap jor, facebook, nairaland is ok
and what is Mtn contributing apart from shipping billion dollars gain to South Africa grin
Re: MTN Wants Whatsapp & Viber Banned In Nigeria, Says Affecting Its Business by lezz(m): 6:04pm On Dec 07, 2016
This clearly shows MTN is also part of the body proposing a hike in data cost.

I remember Glo and Airtel kept pushing prices down to reflect market forces and MTN always dragging its feet to meet up.

Now, MTN has accompanied NCC to the senate committee hearing in support of data cost increment when all other telecom firms are minding their business.

Add that to this ridiculous proposal to ban WhatsApp and Viber from Nigeria, and you will be presented with a company that doesn't mean well for Nigerians.

Any Nigerian having read this and still keeps his MTN line is akin to a traitor and national saboteur
