So i just Got this Story from a visitor, he says

I have a cousin who is in a very serious relationship, and then he decided to meet with the lady’s parents, and introduce himself to them. Alongside the discussion, the mother of the lady popped the question, “How much do you earn Monthly?”. This left my friend speechless, though he was least expecting it but, he had to cover up…..Though he earns a decent sum.

Please i wanna know whether its right for a parent(s) to ask such unbiased question?

It's wrong

Trust me on this, your cousin is about to get himself into a family trap and he ll live to regret the decision of marrying that lady. You know why, that question alone reveals how that mother-in-law is and of course her relationship with her daughter.

If she is bold enough to ask your cousin that question, you can now imagine what his life ll look like after marriage.

The dude should be on the run by now...

The guy would have said that he earns enough to feed their daughter. Why should they ask the question at the first place?

It is not only wrong,it is borderline rudeness.

Shows the mother has no grace and tact or her greed got the better of her.

For me,that's a sign to take seriously before entering a family like that.

They will be adding in law tax to that salary. It's not an appropriate question to ask what's more important their daughters happiness or how much they can drain from the son in law to be. This is not going to end well.

That's stupid . ..... Women can be greedy at times , just give them what you know it's okey for them . I should be dating the whole family to let them know how much I earn .

Actually this is the right thing to do... No parent want their daughters to suffer from the hands of a broke boy. Let me share my thoughts in this.

Let's take this from the religious community: A woman is mostly believed to be soft hearted, an item of delicacy and someone you care for (Men are designed to care for women that is why they are referred to as the HEAD)

Enough of the sideway talks. Let's accelerate the hammer towards the nail.

Ladies make sure you have nothing to do with broke boys. As accurate as this sounds many girls will still try to be Sentimental about the golden fact. Broke boys have nothing to offer.

Ok let me give you a quick scenario.

Yester-evening I was at a restaurant on the island just to relax and get a bit of serenity. While I was chilling with what I had requested for earlier, I noticed a couple sitting opposite my table.
I could feel the love from her heart and the optimism for a better future for both of them but what Spoilt the picture was Their table has all sort of similarities to the Sahara desert.

It is so embarrassing to say as beautiful as the lady looked he couldn't make her feel good on a date and later on he got her a chicken pie and ice cream. I felt disgusted at the sight of this! undecided

Ok, having mentioned that, I want to inform you ladies about a Proven point.

No guy will choose you over a richer lady.

This might seem funny to you but that is the truth. That guy that keeps reminding you how much he loves and adores you?
That guy who wouldn't stop sending you good morning/good night messages?
That guy that sounds romantic and sweeps you off your feet?
He will desert you at the twinkle of an eye immediately he Uncovers a rich lady.

So tell me ladies, why are you forcing this to work with him?
Why are you suffering when someone who isn't looking half as good as you are is being treated like a real woman?
Why trek under the hot sun then later jump into a hot distressful danfo bus while your mates are sitting with their man in his latest Ac filled cool machine?

It is no news that Women are emotional beings but being emotional shouldn't equals stupidity. If you don't care about your future at least care about the future of your kids and their upbringing.

PS: Don't quote me to spill your conundrum. I don't reply idiots

Fear of the man's inability to take care of their daughter precedes this question.

To me is a two edged question

For a woman to ask a potential in law dat silly question shows dat .

1) she has no regard for her husby to make such silly comments on a crucial meeting like dat.
2) her husband is a monkey man!
3) her major yardstick for a potential in law is his finances.

Infact there are just too many red flags!
The guy should seriously consider pulling the plug on the entire marriage angry

she is just looking out for her daughter i guess, buh even at that, she's not supposed to ask that question. It portrays her as a greedy person. I mean there are other ways of looking out for your child right?.

No, as long as asking their daughter that type of question wouldn't be wrong or your own parents asking you the same question.

You can't marry a man's daughter and not regard him as your father.

Its not only wrong, its dumb.
If they wanna find out your economic and financial status, with a sense of respect and decorum, they could just ask where you work, and what you do where you work.
Nothing is permanent. Change happens to everything in life.
It goes to show how much importance they attached to money, as their value sense, than to Love and Good home for their daughter.
