Definitely

If not why not

Southwest visa will be tougher than American visa then

We won't even give them visa. They should remain in their country if biafra is achieved. We don't want anything to do with them ever again if they succeed in breaking up this country.

The request by some Northern youth groups for Igbos in the South East to be allowed to hold referendum and become Biafra is a trap. It is intended to turn the South East into the world’d biggest ‘independent’ prison. Why do we say so? Let’s examine the facts.

Igbos would no longer be Nigerian citizens and therefore could easily be deported from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria: instead of traveling around Nigeria freely as Nigerian citizens, they would have to return to Biafra and go to the Nigerian Embassy to get visa to return to their properties in Lagos, Abuja, etc.

Something tells me that if ever Igbos are mass deported in this situation, they will have to pay through their noses to go back to their jobs and houses and schools in Nigeria.

And some Nigerian state governments would impose quota saying, ‘ Now we have tricked the Igbos out. Let us impose immigration quota on them to keep them out. Nigeria will only accept 10,000 Igbo immigrants per year. And any Igbo coming in must be made to pay through their nose for visa and work permit.’ South East Igbos, how about that?

If you try to shout that you were born in Lagos and are therefore a Lagosian, they will remind you that you are no longer a Nigerian citizen but a foreigner, since your people decided to vote for ‘independence’.

So, all of you Igbos that live outside the South East don’t rejoice over this referendum. Defeat it with common sense reasoning.

Your daftness if there is anything like that is legendary.

who has traveled to Togo, Ghana etc with visa?

Sentiment is a blind lady.

I wonder what you people gain in having Biafra stay in Nigeria that you write all these rubbish.

Separation will offer Biafran the opportunity to have their own institutions that will employ people that will run them. So all the faderal jobs the igbos are missing will be restored to them in Biafra. Have you ever wonder the amount of job Biafran army, police, air force, navy, jamb, etc will create for only biafrans?

Biafra is the promised land of the Igbos

Op,
Your assumption is that Abuja and Lagos will remain viable with oil money if Igbos leave Nigeria. Well i don't need to correct your warped calculations.

Igbos should have learnt from other groups that NEVER bought nor built anything tangible in the East. Yet, Igbos bury their life savings buying and building in other hostile places. I do not pity them because they should have learnt that something was wrong when other Nigerians mocked the southeast as erosion area and would not buy land there, while the southeasterners also joined them in abandoning the area.

Fashola begged the Igbos to please consider Igbo cities sometimes in siting their projects, every notable traditional ruler in Igboland has begged and begged and begged for Igbos to consider their own state capitals and major cities in Igboland for some of their projects if they don't want it in their villages. Even if it is just 10%-40% of their total worth brought to their own state. But our stubborn people who always know it more than anyone else have the monopoly of wisdom that nothing will happen and they continue investing heavily in those God forsaken hostile places. Today, they don't want to leave those places and want me to sympathize with them for their stupidity?

Do you want to tell me that DANGOTE could not buy land or property in Igboland? We challenge him to come out and say so.

Igbos that continue to blindly and thoughtlessly develop other hostile territories and abandon their homeland, only to turn around and cry for mercy when quit notices are issued should take responsibility for their own foolish actions. They'd better leave those places now for the sake of their lives.

" Mr. One Nigeria" Igbos. grin grin grin grin grin grin

ECOWAS member states require no visa. Property taxes may go up. But we can compensate for that by raising prices of our goods so Nigerian consumers will indirectly pay the taxes. grin

Trade. How will the 'independent' country carved out of the South East trade? They would not have an international seaport, so they would need to beg Nigeria to import or export.

What would have helped is if the South South was fully united with South East, but that is not the case currently. The stay-at-home-order given by Nnamdi Kanu shows this: it succeeded 'fully' in the South East, but only partially in the South South. This means the South South is not as convinced about Biafra as the South East. Both regions ate political Siamese twins. At this point, hauling the Igbos of the hinterland out of the country based on partial success would mean reestablishing a kind of permanent blockade, as the new country would not have access to the sea.

If this were to happen, many of those singing Nnamdi Kanu's praises today may end up cursing him. Self determination without strategic alliance may lead to future problems. Better to give Nigeria another chance.

You make me laugh.

How long do you think it will take a nation to have a passport?

Biafra has not come and they already have a passport.

Passport does not determine trade but commodity. Once there is a commodity to sell and buy, traders will get togather.

In this information age you don't need to travel to execute a business.

One question to the OP

Which Nigerian side will fight the igbos? Because I am aware every region will want to go their separate ways.

There has been clamour for Niger delta Republic long before biafra and by God's grace we will get it. So who will remain with north to form the Nigerian states? Is it yorubas or middle beltans? Definitely Niger delta will not remain and that is the greatest threat to the existence of this country.

So forget all this bullshit crap you wrote, I can even see the NL BMC clown called sarrki already ejaculating here

Better to clamour for restructuring and Igbo presidency in Nigeria. Self determination is a right, but you don't use up all your options at once. If there is chance for restructuring, better treatment, you use it before you start saying Igbos should throw away a 170 million strong market. O diro mma.

I have screamed and screamed and screamed it to Igbos that secession is not the best option for now,yet it seems nobody is listening.
Atimes I do wonder if it is a kind of mass hypnotism on the Igbos to self-destroy themselves.
How can Igbos not see beyond their nose and notice the ploy on ground?
With the bad blood between Igbos and other people in the country presently,do they think they'll have free access to other parts of the country if Biafra is actualized?
Those guys will impose heavy taxes on the Igbos who have properties in Nigeria that will force them to sell off the properties at give-away prices. Infact, citizens of countries like Ghana,Cameroon, etc will come in and take over the place of Igbos.
This is just very simple logic.
How can an ethnic group that is presently doing well ( arguably better than other people) choose to relinquish all their achievements to start from scratch? I mean,is that not the height of stupidity?
Even countries like USA,China etc with all their developments still have people living in abject poverty; not to talk of SE that has practically nothing on ground.
But we must keep on talking and reorientating them; lest they repeat what transpired during the civil war.

I never knew there is still a smart Igbo guy there; I thought sentiments already have you all. I tell you, I have a lot of strategies (using simple sense) to make Igbos stone Kanu after Biafra is granted. Enough to make them hate anyone that had campaigned for them. I'm not even talking about expulsion from our lands but a strategy that will make them loose the war after winning the battle.
You just highlighted some and I have more than 20 to help checkmate them.

I strongly believe some parts of SS will go into the Biafran union with Ibos.

I read Ekweremadu's speech about why Biafra must be rejected. One of the unknown factor in his thoughts is the direction of SS.

Im truly surprised that even a very highly placed and politically accomplished person like Ekweremadu could not find a bridge path across which to build alliance with ethnicities in his neighbourhood. Thats appalling! Ekweremadu has been deputy Senate Leader for the third consecutive time and been in Senate since 2003, yet he lacks negotiating skills to connect and cement binding relationships with the people in SS. Maybe not all...but at least two with resource and access to sea and an international border.

The coalition with Jonathan was fruitful, it should have a followup and expansion agenda for regional understanding and growth, as well political and military cooperation.

The reason your alarm will ring fears and change atittude about Biafra is because Biafran leaders are politically inept. This is why Kanu is winning. He is raw, politically incorrect, a rebel to the conservative Nigeria and offers the Biafrans a relief of fresh air from under the suffocation.

Don't blame Ekweremadu; he's only but one man.
And besides, have the Igbos finished mending fences even among themselves to start talking about other people.
The general mindset of an average Igboman is that he doesn't need anybody to succeed. Yet he's infact, the one that needs others most due to the kind of business he does. Igboman is a trader by nature. And traders need population to succeed. That's why you see Igbos everywhere in the country and the world.
Make no mistake about this: almost no major part of SS will join the Igbos in secession. Those guys are not stupid.
As soon as the Igbos leave, the Nigeria will be restructured to accommodate the minority tribes based on earlier arrangement they will make now Igbos are busy asking for secession.
