That's good-it makes the job easier. Tell her she can also confirm this from her own parents or you can discuss with her parents about the issue. I'm sure they will share the same view with your mother and advise your fiancee accordingly. This to me is a simple issue.

It's a Yoruba culture and I think it's just to promote respect amongst both families just like they do in churches where everybody uses the words "brother", "sister", "yes ma", "yes sir". But I don't think all that is necessary for us to respect ourselves. Anybody who's naturally haughty and disrespectful will always show such tendencies even if mandated to say those words. In my opinion, if both of you love each other, you can talk it over and let her understand that it is basically culture-just for peace to reign. But seriously, it's not necessary as long as she accords every member of your family respect and you also do same.

The issue here is not about whether he can afford it or not. It's about the sensibility of him driving down to Togo when he could afford a flight ticket because certainly, that's Adebayor's house in Togo. Hence, I don't think that's his car.

I think it's more of a religious reason than a genuine one. I'm sure he wouldn't have complained if it was a mosque. Muslims generally are intolerable compared to Christians although I don't subscribe to you subjecting others to inconvenience as a result of your own activities. You don't want noise and you think adding more noise is the way to go about solving this problem? Very funny.

I was confused too when I saw it. That's the kind of grade they pump into the country. Look at the 2003-2007 corolla sent to us and compare it with the ones manufactured for the American market. I don't blame them though-it's our useless politicians' fault. Imagine a 2.0 litre for a 2008 accord. Anyways, the fuel economy conscious buyers will grab it without hesitation. By the way, the car is clean-happy sales bro.
