Hi Guys, don't say what you don't know! It may be false, but then you have no evidence to dismiss the post just like that.

We do not need military coup in Nigeria please
Re: Military Coup In Nigeria [[Attempted Rumor]] by Jakumo(m): 9:14am On Feb 26, 2010
Movements of troops around the seat of power would stir coup rumours anywhere,  but within the character of the shell game that is Nigerian politics, Acting President Jonathan Goodluck could be deposed with the stroke of a paid judge's pen rather than by force, which means that the troops seen massing at the federal capital are more likely to have been deployed as a pre-emptive rather than offensive measure.

With British scientists recently announcing the discovery that measured brain activity of totally paralysed patients can be translated into meaningful conversation, a comatose and vegetative Yar Adua is theoretically now capable of ruling Nigeria for the next 50 years, communicating all his executive orders from his sickbed via brain waves, and without so much as having to bat an eyelid.  Once again the marvels of modern science have solved a political problem, namely that of staying true to the unspoken Law of the Land in Nigeria, which states that even an inert Northern Nigerian crude-oil sheik is better suited to be president than the fittest of Niger Delta sons.

What happened was a failed coup. It collapsed under US pressure. Nobody can try anything or they will be roasted.
The Nigerian public is not ready for such backward bullsh!t anymore.

Well you got my attention with that statement, Beaf.

Failed coup in Abuja ?   Are you sure this is true ?  Or was the coup still in the "planning sages", as some past Nigerian governments were wont to claim when rounding up dissidents for incarceration ?

Finally, how soon can Nigerians expect to hear that familiar radio announcement that starts with martial music and those immortal words   " Pellow Kwantiri-men, " ?

@Colonel_a+, you are just an attention seeker, you ought to be ashamed of yourself, don't you know that if there is a coup, it will set Nigeria back another 30 years, some well meaning people in Nigeria are trying to make democracy work, though not perfect, and all you can think of is a coup,  the idle mind is the devil's workshop,  go and find yourself a job.
Re: Military Coup In Nigeria [[Attempted Rumor]] by saintade01(m): 10:23am On Feb 26, 2010
Our fears of possible breach of security in the Nigeria are raised by reported movement of troops from Kaduna to Abuja. Even the statement credited to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Dambassa Btsau that he answers only to the Commander-In-Chief who is President Yaradua if true show a dangerous disregard for the Constitution.

some1 said that coup is not fashionable in 9ja, so long as nigeria is concern evrytin is not only fashionable but highly attainable, it is plainly clear {even to a blind man} to nigerians and the international communities that this experiment called one nigerian is a big JOKE of all decades it is not working and i know it can never work people with different ideology, tradition and religion background is like mixing water with oil this two thing can never blend no matter wot, the only solution to this nigeria of a joke country is a FIVE STATE solution. i fall sick in my tummy wen i hear this ''one nigeria bull.sh.it''

  " Pellow Kwantiri-men, " ?

Actually it goes as thus lol

"Pellow kwanteeree man, the pederal refulik of Nigeria are hereby under the rule of the Sufreme Kounsul of the Armed Porces.

All borders are hereby locked, bodies dissolved" blah blah

Then at the end of the long speech they usually end with a "Long live the pederal refuflik of Nigeria"

Those are classic words. If anyone have some audio version or link I can do with sampling it for a beat please lol

as unpleasant as this may sound, i still maintain my stand that only a military coup-de-tat  can correct the rot in our political system.

point one living or dead politician you think can bring the likes of IBB, james Ibori, TY Danjuma, OBJ and the rest that has made Nigeria what she is today to book.

These retired generals knows that the only way to check the present situation is to plot a coup that wont be in their favour, since the days after Okar, the military system has been so structured,  by the same generals wearing agbada to ensure some young smart thinking fellows dont come out of the academy with smoking barrels pointing at them.

what happned after Turai/Yardua got back into the country was not any diffrent than a coup, someone somewehere has control over these boys. and i bet you that person was not Turai.
there could be a coup in the present arangement, the problem is that such coup would only be used by some elements in the north to swindle power back to the north.

Guys, we have to be realist to some extent, we all want the part to recovery Ghana took, but we don't wish to swallow the bitter pill Rowlings served.

When Jona asumed duty as acting, he held meetings with the same vultures (IBB & OBJ) that need sacrifising for the sake of democracy and curroption free polity. can you beat that!

Nigerian Defence Academy still has the best brains recruited into its institution on a yearly basis, of course with exeption of some "Älmajirins" filtrating from the north. these guys are smart and very partisan at heart. The faith of our Nation rest in the hands of these guys, only  them can chop of the heads of IBB, OBJ, Anenni, Ibori & the rest. if we dont do this

The logic is this, even if you put an Okonjo iwela & madam Dora as president and vice, the moment they try bring some one like IBB to book, they are dead meat within 24hrs, if we don't find leaders that can trial these goons and convert all their loots back to state properties, whatever corective measure we take is futile,

we still have the likes of col. Umar in the army, alot of them, my prayers is for them to strike, soon, and cleans our land.
thank you.

These men got out the heaviest armour they could find and laid seige to the whole Abuja. Yar Adua came in at 2 AM, but they were still on the streets at 11 AM, 9 hours later!
None of the service chiefs was aware except for Danbazau (they all awoke to a shock), neither did the the head of the Brigade of Guards report his troop deployment to his bosses. There were troop movements, not only within Abuja, but out of Kaduna as well. Turai had been sending out mails to the effect of siezing power on her arrival.
Shortly after, the US issued an unusually strongly worded statement about elements bringing an incapacitated Yar Adua home to destabilise the country.
It is possible that some of the service chiefs were aware of the wider plot, but were taken by surprise with the unscheduled arrival of Yar Adua (due to US pressure on Saudi), Yar Adua had been expected 6 days later.

Holy chit, Beaf.  Either you are working on an action and intrigue novel, or you really do have the inside scoop on some surreal developments.  If this is all true, then Nigeria has just experienced a close brush with the first ever military coup staged by a president's bitter and power-crazed wife, of all people.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, goes the old saying, but Mrs. Yar Adua has taken that notion to a truly ridiculous extreme.    Hmmm, maybe that deranged woman needs to be put out of her misery, for good.
