Maybe if we know what makes most people leave the Country, we might be able to know our priorities in making Nigeria a Country to be proud of.

For me i left:
- To get a better Education
- Better Quality of life, comfort, etc
- To escape the Heat and the dust grin

@Manmustwac

Tough ke? Mba

Show me a place not tough and I'll be there in a flash

All of them have their challenges

so toughness aside, its a no brainer that Akata has more advantages & opportunities

hence the "Andrew am checking out" exodus (i.e. remember that mid 80s NTA Enebeli Elebuwa's "Am checking out men . . . )

Born in Nigeria.

Parents started thinking of shipping me over here when my secondary school chick dumped me for an older guy.
Bloody B1.tch!

They finally got me on the next available flight the moment they thought i was hanging out with bad guys and keeping late nights.

Been here ever since.

Its a shame many left Nigeria to further their education but ended up as Cleaners, Taxi drivers, Security guards, Pros.titutes the list is endless.

The moral of the above is, make sure your kids, brothers, sisters etc don't end up like those above.
Help to build Nigeria by saying no to corrupt leaders.

PEACE OUT!!!

Perhaps if the standard of education is up to scratch from where they are coming from, perhaps they may get better job?

Nigeria is not about corrupt leader, but the state of mind of the people.

The question is "Why Did You Leave Nigeria?"
And from the posts so far , how were you able to infer that "those above" engaged in those menial jobs?

Education and Better Quality of Life.

You need a good leader to change the status quo my friend.

PS
What is the state of mind of Nigerians?

Yor post doesn't make sense to me.

Do you have a one track mind. Try and think outside the box. . . . In fact, think without the box.

A good leader is just not what we need. That is my point. A leader is as good as the followers.

Nigerians are not ready for change, but I am not sure you understand that little point.

Let us not derail this thread. Create a new thread and we can discuss this further.

Yor post doesn't make sense to me.

How will it make sense to you, if what you could derive from the topic was cleaners and security guards.

It's just like saying many Nigerians who remain in Nigeria become fraudsters, shiooorrrrrr.
Re: Why Did You Leave Nigeria? by bawomolo(m): 1:47am On Mar 17, 2010
i don't know what's wrong with being a cleaner or security guard while trying to get your education in order.

there are many students who do odd jobs to survive.

FYI
Even the average taxi driver, cleaner, janitor and security guard here lives better than many in Nigeria.

No one said it was wrong or right but surely all things being equal, a graduate should not "end up" like he put it doing those menial jobs and even pros.titution?
Anyway lets not derail the thread . . . . . .
