Nigeria's 3 satellites have been repeatedly posted over and over and over again here including the 100 army officers with MSc and Phd controlling it, the new 2014 cloud penetrating sophisticated radar surveillance satellite under NAF and NN command has been repeatedly posted here with sources more than 10 times this year alone. Google it or go back to this forum pages from January this year. I won't repeat it again for you lazy people

How?

Nigeria has 3 satellites including a cloud penetrating radar satellite. We have used satellites for several years in combat.

South Africa just got ONLY ONE satellite and it's an inferior monkey model from Russia, you could not afford the cost of NATO European made satellite. Your next major weapons purchase will likely be made in China. European equipment costs have started tearing your lean pockets.

Anyway, we welcome your Russian made monkey model lonely all alone satellite. Nigeria has 3, SA has only 1. We have advantage over you
.

No:

- you have 2 observation satelights, NigeriaSat-1 died in 2012
- your other 2 satellites are for environmental observation and disaster reflief with low resolution.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn24025-how-nigeria-has-been-using-its-satellites.html#.VQtnmI6UeSo

By contrast, our satellite is a dedicated spy sattelight, with synthetic aperture radar that has a resolution of 2-3 meters and with its unique dish set-up it has a field of veiw of 500km on either side of it - meaning it does not have to be constantly re-positioned.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn24025-how-nigeria-has-been-using-its-satellites.html#.VQtnmI6UeSo

You do not have a satellite in this class and you never will - you cannot afford it!

It's all fake until you prove that SAN has real missiles in ALL those 32 silos. How many Umkhonto missiles did your navy buy? Mokopa missile is still zero purchase. Umkhonto range is still 15 km maximum.

You foolish Southies keep saying anything inside DENEL tssting laboratory belongs to SANDF without paying one penny for it, is that how defense industry is run in a modern world of capitalist economies? Fools, no wonder DENEL collapsed a few years ago and went totally broke because some Soweto fools now run the place like a charity free gift shop....ANC nation of fools, no wonder Dangote scooped one billion Rands out of your pockets and your top level business executives did not know until after their bank accounts had been brutally Ràped cheesycheesycheesy
.

Listen here you fvcking baboon.

We dont have to prove anything, SAN expanding VLS tubes to the full complement means that either they have fulled them with missiles or they will be fulled with missiles.

DENEL belongs to the state - just like the SANDF belongs to the state. Thats how an effective state military industrial complex runs. During the war in Angola DENEL sent its G6 prototypes along with crews Denel was using to train them to fight in the battle of Quito.

Thats why we are in no rush to buy the Makopa, its intergrated and industrialized, if a situation comes up that we need to equipe the Rooivalks with anti-tank capabilities its simply a matter of sending an e-mail to Denel and they will be delivered

Choke on your popcorn dude cheesycheesycheesy

I am sipping my palm wine here with double straws, no shaking!

You know, I told you Southies last year that it is IMPOSSIBLE for Russia to sell satellite to SANDF without SIPRI recording and reporting it, you all said no, it's a secret sale, secret satellite, spy satellite, nobody must know it, Russia will keep it secret because Jacob Zuma has bewitched Vladimir Putin to obey commands from South Africa cheesycheesycheesy

Now it's on SIPRI publication exposed to the whole world, so am I right or wrong?

Your satellite is a mere surveillance satellite NOT a spy satellite, you cannot afford a Western origin equipment nowadays, so you can continue to insult Nigeria's Russian/Chinese.Pakistani made equipment....South Africa has been forced by cash problems to join out club, welcome !

Your Southie mofos have said many times on this forum that all Russian export equipment are inferior to the original Russian owned versions, thus @Patches said Nigeria got inferior monkey model T-72 tanks and latest model sMi-35M Hind E, Mi-171 Terminator combat helicopters.

So South Africa too has now got an inferior monkey model satellite, yes or no? Answer me now cheesycheesycheesy

Okay, you say Nigeria has two earth observation satellites, yes but under the command and control of 100 Nigerian military officers who use them, PLUS 3RD NEW SATELLITE we just got last year, Nigeria too has a SURVEILLANCE SATELLITE WITH RADAR FOR CLOUD PENETRATION AND NIGHT VISION under the command and control of Nigerian air force and navy.

You South Africans will come to Nigeria soon and learn how satellites are used, we have superiority of experience over you as usual....plus that fact that 1 satellite alone cannot cover the whole earth in quick time, you need 3 satellites to do that global coverage and Nigeria has 3, South Afrikandodo has ONLY 1....when you need help, Zuma will telephone Abuja and beg us, Nigeria is the oracle eye of Africa, you still need to consult us cheesycheesycheesy

•• Confidently sipping Naija palm wine with double straws ••
.

1. Kondor-E is a surveillance satellite. What they do is spy. It was purchased as the West will not sell high end recon platforms to non-NATO nations or unaligned nations like us.

2. We cant afford western equipment anymore? Ok, here goes:
- Only western companies are bidding on tenders for porject Biro
- Starstreak is Western
- CRAM upgrades by a Western Company
- Milan 2 is from the West
- Deal for Badger production is from a Western company
- Thales is a major SANDF supplies and a Western company

3. Export models of any-state owned platform is allways inferior.

4. There is a difference between high end Eastern Block equipment and cheap left over trash from the Cold War. We have bought the lattest in Russian tech, you are buying scraps from a war that never happened.

5. No, you have 2 observation sattelights and 1 communications sattelight. Your satellite is for environmental and electoral monitering. It does not have any form of radar. Not a single one of your satelights are military grade.

You see, unlike you clowns we purchase quality over quantity. While you are watching grainy pictures of bush fires we are watching in HD as Boko destroyers your country.

Again, its no contest. You must be drunk to suggest otherwise

Augugugbuguggugs satellite blues!

Augubugug has told many lies, here is another round - his gross exaggeration of Nigerian satelight capabilities.

NigeriaSat-2

Role: The imagery of both spacecraft will serve as a catalyst to the development of Nigeria's NGDI (National Geospatial Data Infrastructure) program. NASRDA will facilitate efficient production, management, dissemination and use of geospatial information for the attainment of the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals) and the 7-Point Agenda of the Nigerian Government.

Objectives:

• To support food supply security, agricultural and geology applications

• To support mapping and security applications

• To support development of the national GIS infrastructure

• To provide continuity and compatibility with the existing NigeriaSat-1 system.

- uses digital camera's (pushbroom imagers)
https://directory.eoportal.org/web/eoportal/satellite-missions/n/nigeriasat-2

NigeriaSat-X

(Same role and objectives as the above platform)

Except:

- maximum resolution of only 22 meters
- Senors are cameras (SLIM6 Surrey Linear Imager Multispectral 6 channels - but 3 spectral bands)
https://directory.eoportal.org/web/eoportal/satellite-missions/n/nigeriasat-x

Neither of the above is military grade - they are designed for environmental and developmental objectives.

But the proof is in the pudding!! Consult the images below

Picture 1: Image taken from NigeriaSat-2 at a resolution of 2,5m (New York)
Picture 2: Image taken from NigeriaSat-X, it can see through clouds - but not much of what is under them grin
Picture 3: Image taken from a Synthetic Apeture radar system on an satelite that is older than the Kondor-E (at the same resolution ours is capable of, 2 meters)

Denel moving into civil security on the African continent

The company has teamed up with Aviation Co-ordination Services to provide secure hold baggage screening services at African airports.

Denel has joined forces with local hold baggage screening company, Aviation Co-ordination Services (ACS), in its drive to provide secure hold baggage screening services at African airports outside of South Africa.
A memorandum of understanding was signed today to explore possibilities in Africa. The new alliance will bring together the Denel brand and marketing network into Africa, with the hold baggage screening technical expertise of ACS, whose services will be provided to airlines operating at African airports.

"We are combining the experience, reputation and resources of Denel with the specialist technology and expertise offered by ACS to provide critically safe, secure and cost-effective operational services to airlines operating at African airports."

CEO of Denel Integrated Systems and Maritime (Denel ISM), Ismail Dockrat, says Denel ISM was primarily created to be a partner of the defence and security sectors in the design, management, integration and through-life support of complex security systems.

"The agreement with ACS is an ideal opportunity for us to start playing a role in the civil security arena on the African continent.

"This partnership between Denel ISM and ACS will play a key role in upgrading the measures of security that are needed at African airports to enable compliance with international standards," says Dockrat.

Hold baggage screening technology is a critical requirement for airlines operating around the world. The African Union has been keeping pace with ICAO and civil aviation authorities' screening requirements.

Juan van Rensburg, CEO of ACS, says the company has more than 17 years of experience of screening hold baggage on behalf of the airlines operating to and in South Africa. "We look forward to exploring possibilities with Denel and rolling out similar services in other parts of Africa. This alliance is the first foray for Denel into the international civil security sector.

The recently established Denel Integrated Systems and Maritime division will manage the implementation of the memorandum on Denel's behalf, and together with ACS, commence the initial assessments in targeted key African markets.

Considering that images captured by your sattelights are available on the internet - i would say that it is not very secrative

Furthermore, the quality and detail is extremely poor. Of limited to no military use.

Which makes sense as neither of your 2 satellites are military grade
