for Catholic Church u pay choir and usher and mass servers during weddings and burials... it is usually small but u are supposed to give a stipend.

Catholic doesn't commercialise holy water and oil.

the issue of giving a small stipend isn't recent with Catholics, it is a sign of appreciation and fulfill the biblical injunction the a labourer deserve his wage.
