They are lucky to be even getting 60%. Nigeria cannot supply it's own people with gas. Useless country. Has the money earned from the supplies made any difference in the lives of the average Nigerian? The answer is no. The money is going to some of our idiotic elected politicians who promised to solve all of our power problems. 2 Likes |

HeyCorleone:Your points are valid and Nigeria over time has shown sign of a failing state but from my findings , all the armed crisis that has plagued Nigeria for the past 15 yrs and currently ongoing are politically motivated and such will not amount to what people think. Nigeria can't fail as far as enough money is out their from oil proceed to share. With the level of crisis we've been through after migrating from military rule to democracy and hasn't gone to war is a fit that ordinarily would have been very hard to achieve by other countries considering our size, the sustainable resource located in just a particular part of the country, religion and different cultural attributes with all it's negative attendant divisive influence. I can categorically say we have done abysmally poor but we have also shown sign of perseverance which is a major ingredient in nation building. 2 Likes |

Truckpusher: By perseverance what do you mean? Is it this fake love we have for each other? Nigeria is only together because of what the North has to gain from the South. If the oil should dry up tomorrow, it'd be the North calling for a split themselves. |

Shroud:The civil war created a lot of suspicion among the ruling elite class from the different regions , a lopsided constitution and below average educational standard took the Nigeria and Nigeria's economy to the gutters. If we need a great leap in the economy within 10 yrs which is achievable , a state of emergency should be declared on our educational system followed by massive industrialization. |

HeyCorleone:And you think any part of the South don't have what it takes to set up in motion the elements of division ? The elites and the political class from every nook and cranny has so much to lose if Nigeria descends into chaos. with all the noise from the Niger Delta and recently from Biafra secessionists why haven't the elites from these region paid any relevant attention? Nigeria's problem isn't about region and who gets what. The religious and regional cards being doled out by the elites is nothing but a well orchestrated plan to keep emotionally unstable and political illiterates busy while they reign supreme. If any Nigerian President should solve the educational plague in the country ,the religious and regional card based on egocentric sentiment will die a natural death. 2 Likes |

Truckpusher: I don't know what you are talking about. Historically Nigeria wasn't meant to be. It's creation was just to solve the problem of funds mobilization from the South to the North. There is nothing on this Earth that can guarantee our sustainability. Let us just enjoy the moment. But peradventure you wake up tomorrow and Nigeria is no longer one, do not be surprised or dismayed. The best thing has just happened. |

You can't achieve that on the alter of mediocrity with thousands of illiterates youths across all region who are just comfortable voting for you ,simply because you're their tribes man. Truckpusher: You identify education as the reason. the question is how do you solve it? Education is fragment of the system yet an integral one. Even the educated climes like Uk still call for creation of state. Monaco still have regional autonomy. is not really education we should be looking at but the constitution. if the constitution represent the peoples interest it will uphold the law and every nation with rule of law advance. fix the constitution entirely rather than amending it then every sector will fall in line. from security to education to healthcare all up to industralization to employment down to affordability of Abraham Maslow pyramid of shelter, food etc. 1 Like |

Truckpusher: I truly advocate for a regional system with decentralisation of Abuja's powers. If power, both economic and political is decentralised and spread to the states, it will cure this tribalism in our politics. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths but also one of our challenges. We have a large percentage of youth not politically sophisticated beyond immediate material gains. With a very poor world outlook. 2 Likes |

Re: Ghana’s Debt Forces Nigeria To Cut Gas Supply By 50% by Shroud: 12:03pm On Apr 04, 2018 |
Truckpusher:that has been the rancour ever since a national confab was called. The political class and elite are afraid to change the status quo without being certain of the eventual outcome. Sadly it was the military that disrupted the centralised system during the ironsi coup. But I see a pattern where without any legislative fiat, states would start taking their political roadmaps and economic destinies into their own hands. Lagos has been paving the way subtly. If only other costal states like rivers, delta, beyelsa, cross River etc will follow, it will be a springboard for other states. Remember how nigerdelta states got extra derivation from the federal government? |
