The Wooing of Jared Kushner: How the Saudis Got a Friend in the White House

Senior American officials were worried. Since the early months of the Trump administration, Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law and Middle East adviser, had been having private, informal conversations with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the favorite son of Saudi Arabia’s king.

Given Mr. Kushner’s political inexperience, the private exchanges could make him susceptible to Saudi manipulation, said three former senior American officials. In an effort to tighten practices at the White House, a new chief of staff tried to reimpose longstanding procedures stipulating that National Security Council staff members should participate in all calls with foreign leaders.

But even with the restrictions in place, Mr. Kushner, 37, and Prince Mohammed, 33, kept chatting, according to three former White House officials and two others briefed by the Saudi royal court. In fact, they said, the two men were on a first-name basis, calling each other Jared and Mohammed in text messages and phone calls.

The exchanges continued even after the Oct. 2 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, the Saudi journalist who was ambushed and dismembered by Saudi agents, according to two former senior American officials and the two people briefed by the Saudis.

Mueller Is Telling Us: He’s Got Trump on Collusion, The special counsel is connecting the dots and it doesn’t paint a pretty picture for the president.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/mueller-is-telling-us-hes-got-trump-on-collusion?ref=scroll

For nearly two years, since the U.S. intelligence community released its report on the Russian campaign to assist Donald Trump in the 2016 election, the American people have been seeking an answer as to whether the Trump campaign colluded with its Russian counterpart. In the endless speculation about the direction of the investigation, a common view was that maybe the investigation would never implicate President Trump or find any collusion.

But a flurry of recent activity this past week all points in the same direction: Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation will likely implicate the president, his campaign, and his close associates in aiding and abetting a Russian conspiracy against the United States to undermine the 2016 election.

First, Mueller has clearly identified collusion in the efforts of Trump aides and associates to contact WikiLeaks. In a draft plea agreement provided to conservative operative Jerome Corsi, Mueller details how Roger Stone, who the special counsel notes was in frequent contact with Donald Trump and senior campaign officials, directed Corsi to connect with WikiLeaks about the trove of stolen materials it received from Russia. Corsi subsequently communicated WikiLeaks’ release plan back to Stone, and the Trump campaign built its final message around the email release. That is collusion.

Second, we now know that Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen and former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn have provided evidence to Mueller related to collusion. In Cohen’s sentencing memo, Mueller said that Cohen provided his office with “useful information” on “Russia-related matters core to its investigation.” One of those central elements, according to the Justice Department: “any links and/or coordination” between the Kremlin and Trump campaign figures. Collusion, in other words.

In Flynn’s sentencing memo Mueller said that Flynn’s false statements to the FBI about his calls with the Russian ambassador during the transition were “material” to the investigation into “links or coordination between Russia and individuals associated with the Trump campaign.”

Third, Mueller has found evidence that Trump was compromised by a hostile foreign power during the election. In his plea deal, Cohen revealed that Trump had repeatedly lied to voters about the then-candidate’s financial ties to Russia. While Trump claimed during the campaign to have no business dealings with Russia, he was negotiating a wildly lucrative business deal not simply with Russian businessmen, but also involving with the Kremlin itself. Trump’s team even reportedly tried to bribe Russian President Vladimir Putin by offering him a $50 million penthouse.

Fourth, we know that Trump has engaged in an increasingly brazen attempt to cover up his actions: installing a political crony to head the Department of Justice by potentially illegal means in an effort to shut down the investigation; using his former campaign chairman and convicted criminal Paul Manafort to find out information about Mueller’s investigation; and even appearing to offer Manafort a pardon if he helps him obstruct the Russia probe. These may be components of an obstruction of justice case, but they also provide strongly circumstantial data points as to how serious Trump himself views the allegations of collusion being levelled against him.

...Cohen provided information "concerning his contacts with persons connected to the White House during the 2017-2018 time period."

...President Trump conferred with Cohen in 2015 about reaching out to the Russian government to arrange a meeting with Putin when he was in New York....

Gbam. Individual number 1 is definitely Trump. There's a new Sheriff coming in on January 3 and the Orange man will know the true meaning of Democracy American style. His craziness and bigotry will go on a strike when the new Congress is sworn in and the Checks and Balances will put an end to his stupidity. Have you ever seen this many turnover in government. Now his COS, John Kelly is leaving the crazy WH too not to talk of many that have pleaded guilty or cooperated with Director Mueller. Interesting time in America. No wonder Americans rated the Orange man the worst president in recent American history.

All what Cohen did Trump did too. There's a reason the Orange man wouldn't release his taxes as others do but the good thing is that the incoming Democratic led House of Representatives will subpoena his tax records and the whole world will know about his shady dealings with Russians and Saudi Arabians. There's even a possibility the little Mafioso John Jnr and Jared Kushner might be indicted. Way to go Director Mueller.

I'm sorry to say y'all will be disappointed at last when dis is over and President Trump is exonerated. The Special Counsel was suppose to be about collusion, 2 yrs now and no evidence whatsoever even though collusion itself isn't a crime. Hillary Clinton paid for a fake dossier prepared by Russians - dat is collusion but still not a federal crime by any statue. All the phony anonymous sources churning out made up stories because they are trying so hard to "tie the nuts" or "link the dots" together will Fail as usual.

Is that true, or you just fake newsing us here? I doubt the FBI would be paying Russians for a dossier on Trump! If they indict Clinton, they might have to indict themselves!

After the election, the FBI agreed to pay Steele to continue gathering intelligence about Trump and Russia, but the bureau pulled out of the arrangement after Steele was publicly identified in news reports.

I really like the new name. Individual 1. Noting that the admonition comes from trump's own Southern New York District Attorney. That's a big indictment on him and this remind me of President Nixon who was forced to resign when the Republicans withdrew their support for him after the Watergatergate scandal broke open.

Next election, it would be 'lock him up!'

Prosecutors may seek to indict Donald Trump as soon as he leaves office over bombshell court filings released on Friday, a senior Democrat has claimed, as the opposition party ramped up plans to assail the president in the second half of his term.

“There’s a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him — that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the very real prospect of jail time,” California Democratic congressman Adam Schiff, incoming chair of the House Intelligence Committee, said on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday.

Trump administration departure list: Everyone who has been fired by Trump or quit since he took office

The growing list of political figures with whom he has parted company reveals two years of acrimony and chaos at the Trump White House. Here’s a run-down of all the firings and resignations.

John Kelly – December 2018. Mr Trump has been in discussions for months about replacing Mr Kelly. The retired Marine Corps general was hired in July 2017 to bring order to the White House, but ultimately fell out with his boss.

Matthew Whitaker – December 2018. He was named acting attorney general in November this year, replacing Jeff Sessions. But he immediately came under scrutiny over past remarks about the investigation into possible Russian collusion with Mr Trump's presidential election campaign. Mr Trump said instead, he would be nominating William Barr as the next attorney general.

Nikki Haley – December 2018. She revealed in October she would be stepping down as US ambassador to the UN at the end of the year. Mr Trump has put forward State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert as her successor. She is also subject to Senate review.

Jeff Sessions – November 2018. After months of being attacked and ridiculed by the president, the former senator was forced out as attorney general, having served as the nation’s top law enforcement official since February 2017.

Don McGahn – October 2018. Mr Trump revealed in August that the White House counsel would leave following strains between the two over Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Scott Pruitt – July 2018. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) chief quit after he came under fire over a series of ethics controversies.

David Shulkin – March 2018. He left his position the Veteran Affairs secretary, telling the media he had been fired rather than resigning.

HR McMaster – March 2018. Mr Trump’s national security adviser was replaced by John Bolton.

Andrew McCabe – March 2018. The deputy FBI director was fired by Jeff Sessions 26 hours before his scheduled retirement. He was accused of leaking information to the media.

Rex Tillerson – March 2018. The secretary of state was fired by the president on after a series rifts. Mr Trump tweeted earlier this month that Mr Tillerson was “dumb as a rock” and “lazy as hell".

Gary Cohn – March 2018. The National Economic Council director and former Goldman Sachs president said he resigned his advisory role.

Hope Hicks – February 2018. The White House communications director, a long-serving and trusted Trump aide, decided to resign.

Rob Porter – February 2018. The White House staff secretary stepped aside following accusations of domestic abuse from former wives.

Omarosa Manigault Newman – December 2017. The former star of The Apprentice was fired as assistant to the president, and would go on to write a book about her time in the White House called Unhinged.

Richard Cordray – November 2017. The US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s first director quit his administration role.

Tom Price – September 2017. The Health and Human Services secretary quit under pressure from Mr Trump over travel practices.

Stephen Bannon – August 2017. Mr Trump’s chief strategist was fired after clashing with other top White House figures, including the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

Anthony Scaramucci – July 2017. The White House communications director was fired by Mr Trump after only 10 days on the job. Mr Scaramucci had openly criticised Mr Bannon.

Reince Priebus – July 2017. Replaced as chief of staff by John Kelly, Priebus lost Mr Trump’s confidence after setbacks in Congress.

Sean Spicer – July 2017. Resigned as White House press secretary, ending a turbulent six-month tenure.

Walter Shaub – July 2017. The head of the US Office of Government Ethics, who repeatedly clashed with Mr Trump.

Michael Dubke – May 2017. Resigned as White House communications director.

James Comey – May 2017. The FBI director, who led the Russia probe before Mr Mueller, was fired by Mr Trump.

Just can't find the staff these days!
The fact is that the Orange man is so self centered that he thinks he's smarter than anyone in the world. He never listen to his advisers and he always tell them that his guts are better than anyone else. Working for him is like being a steward in the Titanic hence people are leaving his administration in droves. In all my years of following the presidency , never seen an administration with so many turnovers not to talk of criminals . Americans are catching up to the Queens Born two bit street corner huckster and his end will be ugly. Americans will have the last laugh.

So what crime was she going to be locked up for?
Her actual crimes was how she handled her emails, she deleted over 33k if dem even when she was under subpoena. Many lives have been destroyed for committing 1/5th of what she did.

If he does more than one term, I would eat my hat. I find it hard to believe most Americans like what they're seeing.
