This is the first time an elected officer is speaking up. He should go on air and keep lauding it. Pple should mobilize and give him landslide votes for reelection. Maybe the others will start putting it in their manifestos.

What he is saying is the same commonsensical principle Biafrans have preaching- 'The country is not working simply seperate let everyone go home and start afresh.' No they won't.

He has made a good point, but as yorubas who are known globally to be double-faced, can they walk the talk? I don't think so.

dont you think igbos are contributing to the problem i promised not to comment on tribal issues as i heal myself of the scourge of tribalism but to be objective if igbos didn't migrate in large numbers outside Igboland secession would have been easy if we yorubas had the wealth igbos had we would have seceeded long time ago

All of a sudden Tinubu has become deaf and dumb when it comes to the iasues of restructuring Nigeria. He used it to gain power and threw it away but I will assure Tinubu that at the fullness of time the issue will resurface again and it will consume him and those taking Nigerians for a ride.

And he's from my state. Let me go and read more about senator Adeyeye. I love him already.

I suspect aregbesola shares these same views. What with changing the name of the state, asking for identity cards and starting the annual SW youth conference in Osogbo.

Sorry to butt in, but do you know the song "Cold War" by Janelle?

Love it like kilode.

break Nigeria break Nigeria

As if that would solve anything

The only point the senator made tho is the point that the different ethnic groups come together to have a serious discussion

But then, who will represent each ethnic group in this discussions?

Nigeria is not breaking anytime soon, all ye break Nigeria apologists should note that

Or you think Nigeria will split into 2, 3 or even 5?

In the event Nigeria splits, it split into at least 30.

How will the armoury in Nigeria's name be shared?
What of government assets?

What of the external reserve?

What of our professional bodies?

Who gets what?

What gives you the assurance that the splintered countries will be better off

How do we deal with citizenship matters when the country splits (an Igbo guy who was born and bred in the north will be perceived as a citizen or a foreigner?
What of the Yoruba guy born and bred in ph? )

Nobody has brought concrete answers to all these, all they are shouting is break Nigeria

But anyways wetin concern me

yes

we need to talk

But I know this for sure

The hatred between ethnic groups were fuelled by politicians and political events

In the real sense of it, What problem does an Igbo guy have with a Yoruba person and vice versa?

Let's be objective

Did Nigeria exist before the British came? Did the British ask for permission from the natives before creating this country. Why should we all be forced to live as one and sing kumbaya undecided

You made real sense with your post. I can bet you that most ethnic groups in the South and even up to the middle belt can actually live together without any serious issue but put Hausa fulani in the midst and you have chaos and underdevelopment.
The truth is that Nigeria will certainly break up at the pace we are going, it may be now or in the next ten years but it will definitely happen someday! However, if we fail to sit down and discuss if we could have a loose federation of mutual respect for one another or go our separate ways in peace, then we will still break up violently which would be terrible for us all and indeed the rest of Africa.
Nigeria is already tottering on the precipice of disaster!!
It's inevitable. Nigeria either restructures as in changes this current inequitable system or she disintegrates. It's only a matter of time.

telll me one country created in the 19th century that was created by permission

Or is it not our neighbour Ghana who is also a British creation that is moving ahead

Is Kenya not a "British creation" too?

What of South Africa?

Was there a country like south Africa before the Europeans came

That is a null point

The founding fathers agreed that Nigeria should gain independence TOGETHER and that alone absolves Britain from any blame

Assuming the political elite did not manipulate and knock our heads together, would Nigeria be in this shape?

That's what the Europeans came and did in Africa. They created it for themselves so they could exploit the natives. Put together tribes who have even fought for years in one location. Read about the Berlin convention and this happened only in Africa. It didn't happen in Asia and the middle east. The people in the southern part of Nigeria could live together if they overcame all differences and really tried to but the north is a cancer. The same north produces two of the largest terror groups on the planet. Home to drug addicts, highest level of illiteracy and poverty despite ruling the country for more than 40 years and they still want to rule lipsrsealed. How would it move forward with people like this? How? Look at India and look at Pakistan and who is doing better today. Nigeria needs to split IMHO. I would prefer is splits into two parts northern and southern Nigeria embarassed

The problem is that IF Nigeria splits, it CANNOT split into just north and south.

It will break into pieces

The thing is that the north has been suffering from neglect, But I see things have started changing, with the M illennials there modernising

But those guys really need to get their acts together

especially the north west

Stop saying this
Crude oil is almost useless. Electric, solar and hydrogen engine has taken over. All car manufacturers have decided to switch to electric cars. Fossil fuel is gone and renewable energy is the future. Does that disturb the Igbo man? A very big No.

Is it only crude oil that made great nation great?
