Your right brother, but remember wike said the only way Rivers people can benefit from FG is to vote out opposition (APC) then, so going by wike words Niger Delta's will need vote out opposition so projects from FG will start rolling in.
Anyway I Know PMB will not capitalize on that to deprive the zone of their right.
you should have benefited from your hero Jonathan, even all the South South and South East cannot vote apc out.

if one should follow the logic of buharists, then this is nothing. after all it has not fully started operations.

since that is the same low life argument they have used for projects built by GEJ. so when pmb is booted out in 2019 & another administration commissions this project & takes all glory & credit for it, I hope pmb's rubble rousers will keep quiet...

No pmb will commission this. This is a serious govt..

I used to work in Itakpe iron ore mining company. My dear man, this standard gauge line has been in existence for decades. It was built to convey iron ore from Itakpe near Okene to Aladja steel rolling mill. Shagarii built that line. BUHARI has nothing to do with it. It was never meant for mass transit. Since the steel industry is being neglected, they are now converting the USAGE to mass transit. Don't get it twisted.

They are not converting it to mass transit. Its to be the transporter of iron ore raw materials from itakpe to ajaokuta steel mill.

The steel mill will soon be operational. I believe by the end of this year.

Your information is wrong.

Not even Jonathan.s it was OBJ, it was meant for transporting Iron ore. That line you see there was teh first ever standard guage in Nigeria, cos they transported most of the rail track from there.
Ask yourself this question, WHo is going to pay money on a train traveling to Itakpe from Ajakute or to warri? if it was wari PH or PH Benin then yeah, those places Im sure you dont even know, these two location host iron Ore deposit and Power plant nothing more, both Dead Ends.

Worst part that train line leads to a mining town for Iron ore, where China will mine it.

Read my OP . all you just said is already on it.

This is from my OP

The rail line from Warri is passing through Itakpe, Ajaokuta, Agbor and Ore, with six stations along the route.

And so you know, this would bring ease on distressed road infrastructure,

More interconnectivity, nearness to raw materials

Accessibility - economies of scale,

More productivity,

Backward integration,

More opportunities,

More jobs, time is money!

Mitigation of loss, wastage, road accidents,
Continuity is key,

Warri, itapke, Ajaokuta, abraka, lokoja, Abuja, Edo, kogi, Delta. 12 stations 320km

Linking sea port to industries to raw materials deposits to huge markets to agro belts

Refrigerated coaches is key for perishables.

Central Nigeria interlinked to the eastern flank, Western flank, North. Etc

This is a great development and all would come together the moment the steel mill comes online which I expect would be extremely soon in as much as the supply line is already online

seriousness of government is all about perspective.

I don't want to go into details about how that rail line has been in existence predating this administration, I will allow the impression been given that it is a 'new' project slide.

now, you are giving kudos for 'effort', did you give past administrations kudos for similar 'efforts'? or did you revert to that maxim that he who commissions, takes all glory even if 1kobo was not added to such project?

bottom line is this, we must always apply equity & fair play criticism to all we do, we cannot condemn past governments for one thing & praise another government for doing the same thing.

I never disputed that, my point is, whats new as this post is potraying?
fact is this is where he met it, nothing has been added,Tell you waht would had made a real difference, build a line from Wari via sapele,Oghara to Benin. The that would be this FG making a statement, even if they ne ver finished it at least start it.Im seriously waiting to see one infastructure this Rotimi guy will start.I began to fear this Rotimi when he said he never knew railway existed in PH when the railway line is less than 400 feet from his offis when he was governor.

NOW THAT NIGERIA IS INVESTING SO MUCH IN RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WILL LINK ALL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY.

My candid suggestion is that Nigeria should introduce the following courses into our university and polytechnic curricula.

1. Railway Engineering

2. Train building technology

3. Train Spare Parts Engineering.

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD SET UP A DEDICATED UNIVERSITY FOR RAILWAY ENGINEERING JUST LIKE WHAT IS IN CHINA AND OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY WHERE RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE IS A COMMON FACILITIES IN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE

My suggestion is based on the fact that it will only do us good if we buy the train building technology from China and use Nigerian to build the technology back home, grow the technology.

Infact, Nigeria should dream of manufacturing trains that will save us foreign exchange and give jobs to Nigerian protecting our local content.

The Ajaokuta Steel, Delta steel etc should be upgraded or rebuilt to create a reliable supply of steel for the railway sectors.

THE MARITIME UNIVERSITY AT OKERENKOKO IN GBARAMATU KINGDOM IN DELTA STATE SHOULD BE WELL FUNDED AND EQUIP WITH SHIP BUILDING TECHNOLOGY TO BE ABLE TO TRAIN GRADUATES THAT CAN BUILD BOATS AND SHIPS FOR NIGERIA.

The School of Maritime Studies in Oron, Akwa Ibom state should also be upgraded to meet the challenges of the maritime sectors.
