Wallie:

Receiving stolen goods is a crime that could land one in jail if a reasonable person should have known that the goods were stolen. So yeah, they're guilty.
Now do you see how that could also apply in this case? Honestly, if this story is true, I think the gals would have already gotten all this and maybe had months to accept it before we the public got the news. Just wondering if we could get the news verified by some other source and probably get more info on what they actually did in all this.

@ Fxstyl:  I guess u'r a proponent of Capitalism which variably equall to Explotativeness.

Capitalism gave you Glo, MTN, Multilinks, Ability to work, if you find it and keep your money for yourself, open your own business and set your price.  While socialism gave you Zimbabwe and the mess that it is. Please do not knock capitalism, even communist china, has discovered the good in a capitalist society. Redistribution of wealth does not work. Never have, never will. Nigeria needs to manage their resources well and tackle corruption head on. Punish the perpetrators. The US dose not make mistakes? How can we be so naive, Mutallab was flag by his dad and was put on the watch list, yet his visa wasnt revoked and he wasn't banned.

Somebody said something about Bin laden relatives in the states. This same US govt that is almighty and never does wrong, allowed  13 bin laden relatives to live in Alexandria Virginia, even after the world trade center bombing of 1993 and US embassy bombing in Kenya and Tanzania in "98 with osama claiming responsibity untill 2001 when they were evacuated and not banned or even prosecuted.

Quote.:bin Laden family - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
At least 13 relatives of Osama bin Laden, accompanied by bodyguards and associates, left the United States on a chartered flight with Ryan International, read on en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Laden_family - Cached - Similar

@Chi9ja, my point is leave the kids out of it. and prosecute the thieves (their father if found to have committed any crime should go to jail!).  For your information, Mini coopers like any car can be bought with a good credit financing in the west. We dont know. Second point. the USA is not always right!!!!!
In Nigeria, you have people drive range rovers and wear designers yet their parents are not politicians. Please explain. Should they all be prosecuted? Please people leave the Children out of this!!!
Re: Aondokaa, barred From Entering The United States by desthan(m): 7:22pm On Jun 25, 2010
call it what u like. . . . . but i actually think its good and necessary that the kids and relatives r banned as well, so that this bitter experience will make them not to follow in the steps of their parents cos these corrupt officials also corrupt their kids and THEN put them in power.
so 9ja's corruption woes are 2 if not 3 generations old, and we are commencing the mass clean-up from here, lol. smh,

Not really, what I said turns on the meaning of "receiving." I doubt if their father gives them pocket money that would be considered as receiving stolen goods but helping their father launder or hide money is deemed “receiving”.

Sounds like semantics but it is not because one perpetuates a crime and the other merely derives benefit. At worst, you can make the one that derives implicit benefit refund said benefit.

umm@SManuel, all this rants will not help your side at all. We have a case of two out of so many kids banned and you are here telling us the same old. Do you have proof to show they are not in anyway involved at all? By the way, they were banned from flying to the US not CONVICTED OR JAILED in the US.

Someone raised a point earlier. Do we have the same PRIVACY laws as obtained in the US or any other western country?

I love word play . . . I bet you Ibori's sister or whichever one was helping receive money tried the same argument but got sentenced still. ROFLMAO!!

I think you should read my posts again. I have yet to find them guilty, only made assumptions of the situation and based my logic on what I know so far of the case. You on the other hand has continued to making CONCLUDING statements on this and that is why we have been asking if this is closer to you than we all are aware of. See, that is another thing.  . . I am not also assuming the man is guilty of corruption. I can however assume that because others like him have been pinned in such, it is likely the case that he is also dirty.
You say IF THEY CAN GIVE US REASONS, have you tried to do your own research or even ask them for additional information on this so far? I think you should read the article again. SaharaReports is not the one that banned Aondoakaa and also want to ban his kids. The US is, and as I have said over and over again now, this case did not happen overnight. That you have not been following it up until yesterday does not been there has not been investigations into the matter even up to this point. Matter of fact, it is safe to say that for the man to be banned along with his two daughters there ought to have be some connection made beyond the two being his kids because these two ARE NOT his only children.
The US is not SaharaReports. SaharaReports is not the US. Matter of fact, the US does not owe you information simply because you are a Nigerian. You are best asking your own EFCC for update on this. However, I am certain that as a US citizen, you can get access to more information if you would like on it.The article speaks of no trial on this. Just tells us of a ban on the girlsAgain who cannot report what charges? The US? Or SaharaReports? To whom should the charges be reported to? You Or the girls involved? Or the Nigerian government? Or Aondoakaa himself? I mean seriously, you need to step out of this for a bit to see why what you are doing is just not sensible here considering you keep trying to assume it should stop at your door here. Do your research instead of assuming  the charges have not already been reported, and there have been no investigations yet.

All this one na story. Until further info or an expose of his children's hand in this matter  or whatever investigation you said they were/have conducting/conducted  has been divulged to the public who they're trying to sell the story to, I'll still remain adamant and loyal to my opinion. Their info and picture has no reason being exposed. . .

You cannot put people out like that without a reasonable explanation/ without a proper investigation.

So Kobo, seems like you're hiding some kinda extra information on this topic from me. C'mon let me hear/read it.

How can I be hiding some extra information when I admit that we do not at this time have information necessary to make a final judgment on this as you have continued to, and so would rather continue posting my opinion and nothing more?

Am I the one that put the gals and their father out here? Am I suddenly the US? What in the world  . . .

What judgment have I made? I've never said they were guilty nor innocent. I've only entertained the possibility of their innocence. I only objected the way the newspaper disrespected their privacy by exposing their info and the way the USA went about making a case against them without any justification.

I respect your opinion, continue posting it, no problem with that. As I'll also continue doing exactly that.

a) By Judging SaharaReports wrong with the privacy what nots, you already CONCLUDED the gals are innocent in this. The gals are not minors.

b) By CONCLUDING that the USA made a case against them without Justification, you imply the gals are innocent in this and that the US has NO REASON to ban them.

a) ehrrrm NO, I have not concluded anything.  WDH? It means that they should divulge their info only AFTER the Investigation's, which you claim they're still conducting, result comes out. So what happens if they're eventually found "NOT GUILTY" and unbanned? Well too late, their image has already been tainted.

b)BY CONCLUDING that the USA made a case against them without justification, I have concluded that  the USA have not given us any evidence [the pubic who they are selling the case to] to actually see the connection between their father's corruption and their [his children's] ban.

This indeed is refreshing news.Little by little, some sanity will be restored to these looting bastards! And who are those saying those grown ladies are innocent? Do you know that the same girls would turn their backs on their father and disrespect him for the rest of his life if he doesn't steal money like his peers are doing? Do you know that these thieves use their children, cousins and step children's accounts to launder money? During the Alams saga, his wife was caught with 1 million pounds sterling in a briefcase on the street. That same week, his teenage son was intercepted in a subway station carrying a back pack with almost 400,000 pounds in it. Imagine a little boy of that age carrying that amount of cash with him around? Not too long ago, the 12 year old son of Gov Dipreye Sylvia got mugged by his school mates in London and they extorted 4,000 pounds in cash from him WITHIN THE SCHOOL PREMISES! ! ! Imagine that! A 12 year old boy? That is the way they throw our money around.

Don't dare say those girls are innocent.Innocent my foot. Tomorrow, they will be driving around in Bentley GT, they will bash your car with rough driving, come down, slap you and if you make noise, soldiers from no where will come out and kill you on the spot (innocent abi).Tomorrow, these same girls will come out to contest as senators to continue from where their father stopped (Iyabo Obasanjo comes to mind)

How were you able to make this conclusion of yours to begin with? What information on the actual case do you have here that we do not? I mean apart from the article informing us of the ban?
Honestly, I don't think you even know what it is you are doing so far in this. You have instead of posting OPINIONS, like most have, taken the leap and actually gone on to post CONCLUSIONS instead. And maybe it is best I leave this alone cause the more we discuss this, the more I am convinced you don't even understand what you are doing.

But I did not twist your words. Seriously I didn't. I just wish you would realize how NON-NEUTRAL you remain in this, even as you claim to be NEUTRAL.

You claim you have no idea if the gals are guilty or not but you are QUICK To chastise Sahara reports for reporting on the case. Am like, if the case has been investigated and the gals banned, why in the world is it wrong for a newspaper to report on it?

Then you claim the US is wrong and that they have not conducted any investigations. And I am like, is it that you know something of this case we do not or something for you to make such a statement.

Those that are against the action of Obama extending the punishment to the children are the ones that dont want Nigeria to be free of corruption. Without stiff penalty, public office holders will not be deterred of their corrupt practices. We have laws in the country but it is only for the poor. In Zamfara state, common thieves hand are amputated, but the ex governor is still enjoying his loot. Food for thought.
