The Fisherman village is almost complete (From what I've seen in the Pix). The casinos and bowling alleys are yet to be completed, The water park hasn't even commenced. In Phase two the mall will be expanded. The business, fitness and conference centres Will commence in Phase two. The combined size of the Shopping and Entertainment centres will be more than 80,000 Sq.metres making it a Super Regional centre immediately. The only thing which Tinapa doesn't incorporate are residential estates(I find this bemusing) |

Its a mall right? Why should there be residential estates?I dont deem it right cos its a business resort.I guess they have hotels there. |
Re: Pictures Of the Comissioning Of Tinapa by dblock(m): 3:27am On Apr 15, 2007 |
they should have estates on the outskirts of the resort, so it's not actally in the resort. or at least in Calabar, You dig? |

VOR: @VOR Tinapa is more than a shopping centre/mall, it is a business resort. Tourists are expected to patronize the place for its scenic beauty (calabar environs) and its proximity to obudu ranch. It is also going to provide employment and bring in tax revenues to the Cross River State government. There are countries (e.g. in the west indies) that rely on tourism for over 50% of their foreign earnings. It is high time we start focusing on the non-oil sector of our economy because our oil isn't going to last forever. I am also happy about this project because it is private sector funded (Cross River state is paying for the surrounding infrastructure) and it took place in a democratic setting. From 1983 to 1999 (during the military rule) our country was basically at a stand still in terms of development. Most projects embarked upon were by the government. So, to see this private initiative in place shows what we can potentially achieve given peace and stability in Nigeria. |

any photos of the hotels nearing completion? I've visited the Southern Sun website and even registered to view their photo gallery of facilities, etc. and let's say i'm very impressed especially with the resort hotels in Sychelles and Cape Town !! |
