Princess Eugenie has walked down the aisle, in her much anticipated wedding to Jacks Brooksbank at St George's Chapel in Windsor.

Princess Eugenie who walked down the aisle in a backless dress without a veil,  and a tiara borrowed from her grandmother Queen Elizabeth, walked down the aisle by her father, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, in the same chapel where her cousin Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in May.

Her long-sleeved gown with an open neck for her walk down the aisle, was made by British designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. However it was gathered that the dress also came with a very specific purpose.  Eugenie's dress made very visible the scars from the extensive scoliosis surgery she had when she was 12. Eugenie reportedly requested that the dress show her surgery scars.

Jan Lehovsky, the Doctor who performed the surgery was also reportedly invited to the wedding, along with other medical staff. Eugenie is a patron of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital where the surgery was performed.

"Children can look at me now and know that the operation works," she wrote in a statement for the hospital's website. "I’m living proof of the ways in which the hospital can change people’s lives."

Princess Eugenie also wore diamond-drop earrings that Brooksbank had made for her as a gift. The symbols on her dress also had a specific meaning, with the thistle representing their love for Scotland and the royal retreat in Balmoral.
