Truth be told this violence is highly fueled by hunger and anger among the youth. Shortly before the 24 hour curfew was reimposed I was driving past the television garage area of Kaduna town and despite the presence of four army hilux vehicles with heavy army personels the youth were holding sticks ,smoking all sort of cigarettes and chanting like people getting ready for war.

It's just the children of the poor on the street ready to die for a country that does not care. While the children of the rich have all been moved out of the ever volatile Kaduna town.

May the soul of the Agom of Adara rest in peace, it's a huge shame that he was killed this way. I just hope southern Kaduna people can bear this loss.

The royal father was waylayed, everyone in his entouraged was killed including some unlucky motorist while kidnapping the royal father and his wife.

5. The wife was later released with a rasome request for HRH.

6. The release fueled speculation that the HRH was dead which led to a round of violence in Kaduna town.

What the former Eastern Nigeria, especially the South East has is a history of genocide survival. With that comes vigilance, one which our grandparents passed on to our parents and then passed on to us. We may forgive, but it would be foolish to forget. Hence the vigilance. When the attempt was made in Enugu a few years ago, they were shocked at the internationalisation of the outcry.

Make no mistake, the East and it’s children are not sleeping.
