Simplicity is key here.

It is easier for people to identify the NPFL players that performed well than to identify the best NPFL players that got transferred to foreign leagues.

We make do with NPFL player of the year for sake of simplicity please.

So people don't know Ahmed Musa, Etebo and Shehu came from the league? I put it to u that people would know more about players leaving the NPFL than players currently in it.

It definitely doesn't cover it. What is the use of giving ideas when only one person just shuts it down. I could have saved my breath this whole time.

Again, like I said before, consider the voting audience.

We have an NPFL player of the year award already.

Having an award for a best player that just got transferred to a foreign league will only create ambiguity.

Majority of the people out there don't even know what is happening in the NPFL and they don't know who made a move or who did not.

Please I am not shooting down your idea for shooting down sake. Not all the ideas were taken from contributors. We had to merge some for simplicity sake. Please understand that.

Solanke won the golden boy award and he is a bum now so wat is the point? The award does not tell us the future it only rewards the player with the best first season outside Nigeria

Can you not deviate from the substance of the discourse with denigrated opinionated Balderdash. If you gave nothing of substance to say or contribute keep quite. Or take it to the other thread where such irrelevances can be aired.

What's Solanke got to with anything. You can't even show restraint or control yourself. Don't derail this thread with nonsense.

The topic is very simple at what stage do we measure a Nigerian " home grown players " first season in Europe. THAT'S THE QUESTION.

Players leave Nigeria sometimes it takes three years or more for thier first competitive first team game.

Can a player who has spent 3/4 years being trained as a youth player be justified with the tag home grown under such circumstances.

Keep quiet because u will beat me or what? I will just leave ur silly comment to anxiety. I am telling u that winning the award does not guarrantee a bright future, that is what Solanke had to do with it GENIUS. Why don't u take time to think before u rush to type?

I am telling u the award is for the player's first season in Europe and u are still asking questions. What don't u understand by "First season abroad"? Your first season abroad is your only season of eligibility for the award.

On award category 3, Ramon Azeez is not a New inclusion into the SE. He is a Returnee.

On award category 9, Eberechi Ezeh is not eligible. That award is for players that have featured in any of our national Teams (From U17, 20, 23 and SE). Uncapped Foreign borns have their own exclusive award.

For award category 9, Samuel Kalu was born in 1997 (22yrs old) and so not eligible for nomination in that category. Thanks.

Marvellous BascoVanVeli.... On Most impactful New inclusion, I believe Jamilu Collins made his Eagles bow in October 2018 vs Libya in an AFCON 2019 Qualifiers game in Uyo. He played about 4 or 5 games in 2018 I think.

Also Samuel Kalu is not a 2019 new inclusion. Same as Chukwueze who debuted in late 2018.

Or Chief Icon4s, are inclusions that joined late in the previous year allowed when taking this year into account?

Thanks for also pointing the bolded. I observed it but it skipped my mind while I was typing.

New inclusions (2019) are players who made their debute in 2019 only.

Bascovanveli also that Ighalo vs Libya goal was a game played in 2018 and so is not eligible for nomination in 2019.

Then we don't have new inclusions. Unless this is some ploy to hand Aribo the award.

Let's also note a new addition to this selection process and this is the Nigerian Best XI, 2019. We will commence this as soon as everyone here is done making nominations of which Forgiveness is the only person left.

For the best XI we can compile it here but will not release it until we are done with the voting process in the general house.

I believe that the NPFL Alumni of the year is a quality award because it gives a progress report. I think it is easier to know former NPFL players than the ones we have. Let's give credit to guys who leave the league and make us proud. Chisom Egbuchalam is ballin in Korea, Stephen Odey scored against Liverpool and of all people The Panther Anthony Okpotu is the leading scorer in Tunisia while his team tops the log. It is unfair to leave these guys out. We also have Ahmed Musa, Etebo, Shehu and Ighalo in the picture.

Please don't be offended by my post. I will accept the decision but I just felt I should explain my thinking. Again sorry if this is digressing.

Bros, from your Nominations:

Ramon Azeez is not a new inclusion to the SE. He is a Returnee

The Young player award is for players that have featured for any of our youth teams or Super Eagles. So Ebere Ezeh not eligible.

Please amend accordingly. Thanks

Please do the necessary amendments. Thanks

After how many years? He is new inclusion.
