Ehen.... How about Save of the year? What do you all think?

Goal keeper of the year should cover that.

Best assist will not be a bad addition shaa. Hey, we can consider adding that. Would be cool acknowledging the creative abilities of our players too. Aina's assist for Ighalo, Osimhen's assist for Chukwueze, Musa's assist for Ighalo, Ighalo's Assist for Iwobi... Mehn... We have so much indeed. You know what Chief... I think we should add this. I came a conclusion as I kept on typing and recalling all our beautiful assists of 2018 we didn't award and the ones for 2019 we can indeed bring into the light. smiley

On my points raised. Notification acknowledged. wink

Well, automatically the national team of the year award will easily reveal the winner of the National team's coach of the year.

Can't we find a way to merge the two?

Ok, we go with 'National Team of the Year' since the coaching crew is also part of the Team smiley

Where are the other people that are supposed to be part of the committee and why are they not contributing?

Bascovanveli, you that claimed you would be dropping by soon, soon never come where you dey?

What is the point of a committee that only three people are posting?

NPFL export of the year. Basically a player of the year for players that featured in the NPFL before going abroad. For example Ahmed Musa, Oghenekaro Etebo and Shehu Abdullahi could be nominated for this award because they all played in the NPFL.

Then the Nigerian export of the year for the player who has had the best first season out of the country. Could be coming from an academy or the league, either way it must be the player's first season out of Nigeria.

Can't be too sure. Sometimes winning the team of the season will guarantee that the coach won't win the coaches award.

This is a good idea but the challenge is how many people know which player (s) left the NPFL for foreign leagues. We should try and always put ourselves in the shoes of the wider voters out there who do not follow Nigerian football as much as we do here. For the NPFL I think 'home based player of the year' should suffice.

My sister, that is what i faced the last time too. You will just be chasing them all the time till we get the list of nominees. We are working on a time line. We have to move on. And by the end of today, we roll out the 2019 Awards categories, set eligibility criteria and by tomorrow we start dropping our Nominations.

some people should be ineligible to be nominated to the committee if they cannot make any contributions.

There is simply no point putting people in committees, only for them to ghost when time comes.

This could be problematic, quite a few pplayers leave Nigeria as teenagers to European clubs and by virtue of tht they become classed in Europe as home grown if they came as under 16 players. In this regard KC can be classed as Man city home grown player.

Raheem and Seyi Ojo came to Liverpool from QPR and MK Dons at age 14 for millions of ££ but are not classed as QPR or MK Dons products but Liverpool fc academy products.

Something to think about.

At what stage.

I remember one player Ekplolo he was at Barcelona B for donkey years didnt cut it and cut a long story short he ended up at Fleetwood town playing do or die football. He simply struggled with that style of football. He is now in the nordic leagues.

So when was his first season in football for any asesment to be made.

Solanke won the golden boy award and he is a bum now so wat is the point? The award does not tell us the future it only rewards the player with the best first season outside Nigeria

That's not good enough. If that is the case remove all NPFL related awards because people may just not know. U are guessing that the voters won't know just liike I am guessing they will.

Simplicity is key here.

It is easier for people to identify the NPFL players that performed well than to identify the best NPFL players that got transferred to foreign leagues.

We make do with NPFL player of the year for sake of simplicity please.
