Op missed it on one point. There is nothing like eternal security for believers. Only those who remain steadfast and walk uprightly will make heaven. Are you aware that there are professing believers who fornicate even more than unbelievers. Some of them even speak in tongues. This includes so called men of God who use their position to lure their church members and even married women to bed. They will certainly have their parts in the Lake of fire. Our Lord Jesus said he will disqualify so many on that day who will claim have done miracles in his name. So, I don't know where people got this message of eternal security. Op. well done for your fine effort. I do not always comment on topics here but after going through your write up I am moved to respond to your topic. kindly read up with an unbiased mind. first of all, accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and saviour does not guarantee automatic everlasting life . read Matthew 7 vs 21-24. we need to work for our salvation by doing the will of God. it is true that Jesus christ paid for our ransom/sin through his death/blood, however, we need to work in the light. read 1 John 1vs 6-10. Secondly is the issue of Hell Fire: Hell means Grave/Tomb/Pit and in Hebrew, it means "Sheol" that is a place where the dead are buried. Everybody who dies goes back to the ground either through the grave or other local custom rite for burying the dead. read Ecclesiastes 9vs 10. THERE IS NO ACCOUNT IN THE BIBLE that explicitly says that all SINNERS goes to the Hell fire. Let me even pretend that there is HELL Fire!! why will God Keep sinners there? to what end? is it so that HE can enjoy watching them suffer? Or is it so that they could repent from their sins? because according to the meaning of Hell fire is it a place of everlasting torment. Where is Adam and Eve the originator of Sin? after they Sinned Jehovah our God never mentioned to them Hell Fire. He said they were made out of dust and they shall return to dust I.e the ground. and it has been like that till today read Genesis 3 vs 19. Come to think of it, if there is a fire somewhere where people(sinner) will be burning forever and will not die, don't you think people will adjust to the pains since it is a continuous process. Have you forgotten that humans adapt to suitation/hardship easily. Infact some sinners will prefer that fire to total destruction, the kind of destruction that occurred in the time of Noah. Again those plenty sinners in the time of Noah, where are they?. well, Lake of Fire mentioned in the Bible in the account of revelation connotes total destruction. where the Bible said death shall be hurled to the lake of fire which means second death. Jehovah has promised to swallow up death forever. read Isaiah 25 vs 8 and is exactly the revelation John saw. Jehovah is a Loving God with a whole lot qualities which we humans also posses. read 1st John 4 vs 8. To learn about Jehovah qualities read Psalm 103 vs 7-10. how can a God who is Merciful, compassionate, slow to anger, abundant in loyal love act like that? OP. as a human being, can your child offend to the extent that you prefer to watch him/her suffer forever in fire? Jehovah our God is not wicked, however he will never spare the wicked and the unrepentant. Check antecedents of how Jehovah act, you will see that he usually destroy the wicked but not tommenting them. read James 1vs 12-14. Even Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed once and for All. God didn't continue tommenting people of Sodom and Gomorrah . Jehovah don't torment devil does, as in the case of Job. with this few points and the Bible quotations I expect you to have a rethink about your position of the imaginary Hell Fire. and also do not paint Jehovah God wicked as some people have already perceived him based on your write up. First and foremost i wanna appreciate you for coming up with this write up.... But i would also love to point out some few things as a matter of fact i will go straight to the point. Am sure you really don't understand this bible verse quoted by you "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" According to your perspective, accepting Jesus as your lord and personal saviour takes you to heaven automatically, that's salvation sir. Salvation goes with Baptism, the day you Baptize and accept Jesus christ as your lord and personal saviour, from that very day, you become a Citizen of christ. But that is only the first step.. There's much more than that. Remember the same bible said is not all that calls me lord lord that are mine, so using Sin as a case study here in order to gain access to heaven, i would say you might be right to some extent, but to some larger extent you are wrong, because this would only promote worldliness and Sin, the bible said there that love the world is of the world. You can't love Sin and call your self a child of God, you can't love sin and speak with confidence that you are going to heaven. Jesus came and gave just 2 laws, Recognise Him and love your neighbour as your self, it easy to accept Jesus and love him, but the question is do you really love your Neighbor Sin.. I repeat sin will give you first class to Hell fire. The bible said "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out." (Mark 9:43). ""Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away." (Matthew 13:47-48). "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. MERCY and GRACE is what will take us to HEAVEN not SALVATION and RIGHTEOUSNESS but Salvation and Holiness is important. People need to understand that it is only in Jesus that there is life. Jesus was the Lamb that took away the sins of the world. God judges sin. But the judgement that was supposed to come to the world, Jesus took it as the Lamb. Jesus tasted death for all that believe in Him. If you believe in Jesus that he died for your sins, then when you stop breathing you will never taste death because Jesus tasted death for you. People don't know the gravity of what Jesus did for us. When you understand it, you will even live above Sin. You will fall deeply in love with Jesus. 1 Like |
