Cases are different. No two cases are the same. If your spouse has been contacted and your verification has been done, normally, the response from embassy should not take time. But my spouse has been contacted for more than 3 months and I am yet to get a response. Yet, I have seen people whose spouses were contacted in February and they have gotten visa already.

Yes. Verification completed completed since September last year. The lawyer told me. They also told me at the embassy that they were okay with my docs and waiting for ausländer to send in approval. And he has been contacted for over 4 months.

Did my interview for skilled immigration act visa (with pre approval) on the 17th of December but I am yet to hear back from them. I was led to believe they make a decision within 3 weeks. What could be the issue? This is the 4th week now.

It's likely because of the christmas break. Have you heard from them now? My own interview is next week. What was the interview like? What kind of questions were you asked?

I got a PhD in Germany which comes with several gadgets (laptop, desktop, phone, flight coverage, residency option etc) and huge salary. At the same time, I got a PhD offer in the USA with a research assistantship.
The salary in Germany is 1.8 times the one in the USA
USA PhD will take me 5yrs to complete while Germany will take me 3yrs
The course from Germany directly aligns with my interest while I'm gonna be picking up another field in the USA, all in Engineering.

Which one will you advise me to go for?

Hello and congratulations.
You should be honest about your pregnancy. In fact, it gives you an added advantage. Everyone in DAAD will treat you like an egg and your supervisor will be nicer.
By the way, I would advice that you travel with your family immediately. The German embassy in Nigeria would fast track your visa application along with your family. Contact the international office of your institution through your supervisor, they will assist you in getting accommodation. If you travel first, you might not see you family until after a year. I made the same mistake, I travelled alone and the process for family reunion takes time.
Considering that you are pregnant, it is important that your husband travel with you. You need all the help you can get.

Hello.
I have just been offered DAAD EPOS scholarship.
I have a 15 month old, during the application, in the column for number of children I filled 1. Though I'm currently pregnant and my EDD is 1st August.

Now for the scholarship, the mandatory language course is starting on 1st August and my course 1st October. Please how do I proceed?

Although, along the line I was asked to submit a statement regarding my plan on relocating with family if offered scholarship.
I replied that I intend coming alone during the language course to find accommodation before my family will join me.
I didn't mention the pregnancy for fear of it deterring my chances of getting the offer.

During the registration on DAAD portal there was no question about pregnancy so I didn't know how to mention it.

Contacting daad on the development are they going to withdraw the scholarship?
Please can anyone with experience advice me on the way forward.

I'm not sure about NRW, but I was contacted by email and I forwarded the documents by email too.
