Do all you evil you can and repent on your death bed, Jesus the advocate will take care of things for you grin

Trust me Pal, I am used to all the Christian permutations for salvation - its a joke. They are contradictory to one another.

That's why some of the worse sinners can be found in Christendom.

Here is another one for you ;

There are two Men

Man 1 - Cheats, lies, murders and steals - on his death bed he asks for forgiveness in the name of Jesus
Destination - Paradise

Man 2
- Does not cheat, lie, murder or steal - on his death bed he does not ask for forgiveness in Jesus name
Destination - Hell Fire

I've always wondered that too.

Why did it take slavery and colonisation to introduce christainity to Africans and tag it 'the true religion'. It's 't he true religion' cause it was practiced by white people aka colonisers aka slave masters cool. I mean the bible justify slavery so....

I was arguing with a religious the other day and she said that the god our ancestors worshipped then is the same christain god worshipped by Christains and that the christain religion is better undecided.

It's also ironic when religious people claim that something isn't African or that it's not in our culture. Well, same with the christain religion you are practicing.

Very succinctly stated.

You think it is as easy as that, huh?
You think it is about "... on death bed ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus..." huh?
Your true nature is stronger than you to wanting to take avail of God's free legal aid just like that.

Have you been to watch court proceedings ever, observed where by everything is taken into account, every action is weighed against the circumstances, the same can be done with and by Jesus Christ. God is a just God, He will consider all and take everything on board during judgement

Before I answer the main question of the thread, let me address this.

Anyone.....I repeat.... .anyone who asks Jesus for mercy and plead guilty BEFORE DEATH will be saved.

Either on the sick bed, or wherever.

The thieves on the cross with Jesus comes to mind.

The big question is this.... How are you sure you will have that opportunity?

People have died in a matter of seconds.. In the twinkling of an eye.

You blaspheme God, mislead people with your comments, do wickedness, and all atrocities because

You are waiting for the opportunity of the sick bed?

You need to think again. That devil you are working for is working against you at your back.

He is always accusing you before God and looking for every opportunity to CUT YOU SHORT SUDDENLY. ..

You think he doesn't know about "last minute repentance? " people die in accidents suddenly

Some slept and never woke up

At all, the poster of that comment that made you Change your mind that there is no God,

May have the opportunity at his dying moment to ask God for forgiveness and beg for mercy....

and when the opportunity comes, he begs. You won't be there to see that happen.

He gets saved, you get condemned.

The matter of the soul is a personal thing.. Don't look at people's conclusion to believe. Search for the truth yourself.

I won't be surprised if I see the likes of Frosbel and Lordred in heaven... somehow, there is still a covering of mercy on them both...

....and if originakalokalo decides to stray because of their comments,

You just find him in hell.

More like the first being the last and the last being the first.

It doesnt matter how unpopular, nasty or horrible a person you are, if you believe in Jesus Christ and want Him, anytime, in your life, before or after death, to take your case, He will, He will take your case as an Advocate, Defense Attorney, Defence Counsel, Lawyer, Solicitor or Barrister and win it for you. Instead of you representing and defending yourself, it is Jesus Christ who this way comes to your aid and brings His expertise to the task.

Read earlier post above yours and even read further on below Originakalokalo for more. The chance is still there after death and there is a good reason for the provision and just set up

Dantedasz:
h t t ps://youtu.be/VWAUhadJzTk
The YouTube video is flawed on many fronts and is riddled with false and inaccurate information, especially and deliberately intended to mislead with. There are more holes than Swiss cheese in the warped YouTube video

The word Jesse and name Jesus Christ is an anathema for the Mr Smith and Mr Clark of this world, so his nature will never let Mr Smith accept Jesse as a Counsel to represent and defend him. This Jesus Christ deep-seated feeling of aversion is applicable to the frosbel2, Dantedasz etcetera of this world declining the free legal aid service of Jesus Christ.

The fact and truth of the matter, is that Jesus Christ depicted as Jesse, in that YouTube video, already 2000 years old, was wounded for human beings' iniquities, He was bruised for human beings' sins, endured punishment that made human beings well and because of his wounds human beings have been healed, there is no need for Jesse to be punished again for Mr Smith and Mr Clark, all that Mr Smith and Mr Clark needed to do is to accept Jesus Christ, confess Him with their mouth and believe in heart, but do you really think that will happen huh? Hell will have to freeze first before any chance of that could be considered it will happen

Even at crunch down, like in a court room, as depicted in that YouTube video, you can tell a lot about a person's character from how they act when the chips are down. Case in point, because of Mr Smith's and Mr Clark's chronic and hardened nature, they will rather go to the dark abyss, than lose face by accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour and personally acknowledging Him and having Jesus Christ as a Counsel to represent them. Notice in the YouTube video that Mr Smith and Mr Clark represented themselves. Need I go on? Need I say more?

You only believe in Jesus before death...

There is no forgiveness in the grave..for those who are alive and have heard the gospel. ..

It is appointed unto man to die once.... And after that judgement.

Now, let me address the question of OP.

Apostle Peter happened to be a first hand eye witness in Jesus lifetime.

See what he said...

" For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."
(1 Peter 4: 6)

Those who believe in God almighty had gone to paradise.... Where Abraham is.

Those who did wickedness and did not serve God were in bondage... In Sheol..

See what Peter said

" By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;"
(1 Peter 3: 19)

So, Jesus according to the first verse I quoted went to those in Sheol to preach to them in their agony.

It took him three days to do that since they were spirits. They should know better ...

But the devil's deception is epic.... Not all of them will believe Jesus

All he needs to tell them is this: "someone who died, is here telling you that he will give you eternal life in God,... How does that sound? "

... Someone I moved men to kill....

And by the time they heard of Jesus resurrection and ascension, it would have been too late.

For those who were alive after Jesus ascension till now,

You have no excuse. You have heard.

If you don't believe in the son before death,

YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.

Like frosbel2 asked, what is going to happen to people (e.g. your ancestors) that never heard of Jesus, huh?

Originakalokalo, have you been to watch court proceedings ever at all?
Please try go to your local one or just watch on satellite channels, to observe how everything is taken into account, every action is weighed against the circumstances, the same opportunity is to be given and done with your ancestors, each will be given the chance of availing of Jesus Christ to represent them. I will flag that doctrine of yours as that of the devils

again and again and again and again without thinking twice or flinching.

The rich man is in torment.... and he begged Abraham to send Lazarus to warn his brothers not to come to hell...

He is in hell awaiting judgement to be cast into the lake of fire....

There is no remedy for him.

Once you are dead, your soul either ascends or depends in the spiritual realm .

You are kept either in paradise with Abraham or with that rich man in hell or a place of torment....

After death, the first judgement is instant.. you only wait for the last and final one which is the lake of fire or heaven in the presence of God.

Just goes to show how man made all this religion stuff is. Even humans behave with more alacrity during a little crises talk more of a supposed supreme being attending to matters that will determine eternal life or death. Even if I end up believing in a god again this is one thing I'll never believe, that the god wanted people saved by a human sacrifice.

Somewhere around 50-70AD, Philip preached to an Ethiopian Eunuch.... As early as that.....

That's approximately 2000 years ago....

Ethiopia as we know is in Africa. Nigeria was not existing at that time. ...a lot of countries are not existing

There was no Africa as a continent at that time...

....however, people were descendants of those early nations such as .Rome, Syria, Greece, Egypt, Ethiopia, Israel etc.
Population growth got us where we are.

So, if an Ethiopian eunuch got to know about Jesus as early as that,

my great great and greatest grandfather heard about Jesus. ....

If they refused to believe in him,

They go to hell.

If you are alive now, you have heard the gospel.

If you believe you are saved.

If you die in sin, and unbelieve, you go to hell..

The latter part of your remark has a ring of truth in it.

janettee, in addition to the valid points immediately above typed by Ihedinobi3, Jesus Christ will be available to represent people when the time comes to give account and explanations for our every thought, every word and every deed we've done. He is an Advocate, somewhat what you know a defense lawyer to be. Just that in this situation, He is like a duty solicitor, duty lawyer or a public defender, who is available to represent you and on your behalf defend and give explanations for and/or behind your every thought, every word and every deed you ever did.

The access to have Jesus Christ represent you, is the right to free legal aid, you share of with every other human being.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If you're damned by the each and every thought, every word and every deed you've ever done, then only one Person that I know, is capable as an Advocate, of getting you off the hook is Jesus Christ

Anybody, everybody dead or alive can avail of this free legal aid service paid for by God, and have Jesus Christ mitigate, represent you and cross examine your accusers and/or prosecution witnesess. Funnily enough, some will rather opt for Satan's dark abyss than for a second confess with their mouth and honestly say, "Jesus is Lord" (i.e. honestly say, "Jesus is my Owner'')

Just for the record, I do not agree that after death it is still possible to be saved if one was not saved during their lifetime. I have no scriptural reason to believe that. In fact Hebrews 9:27 stands solidly against such an idea.

[27]And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment...
Hebrews 9:27 NASB

Nor do I believe, Originakalokalo, that any preaching occurs in the grave. It was to the rebellious angels serving time for various infractions during this war (see, for example, 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 1:6) that the Lord Jesus proclaimed His Victory on the Cross since they did not know what was going on on Earth.

Note that when the Bible says "spirits", it is almost always referring to angels (Heb 1:7). Dead or alive, human beings are spirits that live in bodies so we are referred to as spirits with a qualification to distinguish us from the angels (for example, Hebrews 12:23).

Note also that if the Lord Jesus were preaching the gospel to dead human beings so that they can be saved, that would also violate Hebrews 9:27 and the Scriptures cannot be broken.

" For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."
(1 Peter 4: 6)

"gospel preached to them that are dead " is clear enough.. Note the word.. "for this cause " and read previous verses.

There is no proclamation of Victory here... It has nothing to do with angels....

Did you see this?

" that they might be judged according to men in the flesh "

but live according to God in the spirit "

Rebellious angels will not "live to God in the spirit "

Well, let me say this....

Bible scholars and commentaries are divided on this...

Pulpit commentaries and other commentaries agree with the interpretation that I gave it. ..

Some disagree.

I will not want to give a sure stand on an issue like this.

Besides, I always advocate that we cannot fully understand all mysteries of this world while we are in the flesh....

Neither can we answer all the questions...

Our understanding shall be full when we drop this body in death...

That said,

We that are alive should see to it that we obey the teachings of Jesus Christ and live a life of holiness and righteousness unto God.

We have heard the gospel and there is no remedy for us after we die.

Yahweh that I know forgives sins through sacrifice of blood. He directed Israel to do that in the Old Testament.

Now, I believe in Yahweh and in his son Jesus.

How do I get forgiveness without blood sacrifice?

What of the billions of Yahweh's worshipers around the world?

Shall we all go to Jerusalem everytime I sin?
.
Jesus was sacrificed for the universal church once and for all...

His blood cleanse our sins.

Interesting topic. When you fathom on this thoroughly, you begin to get insight on some basic spiritual things. Religion is actually a means to grab power and control via knowledge.

Jesus specifically gave two fundamental spiritual laws and regardless of your religious stances, if you don’t keep to those commandments you are are err with your Maker. However, please note that there is no Hell Fire - it doesn’t exist, but there is some form of accountability in the spiritual worlds. There is also not just one Heaven. There are Heavens and based on your spiritual frequency, you get to transcend to the each of these Heavens after you leave Earth.

I wish to speak little on this because as I have come to realize not everybody vibrates at the same spiritual frequency. Hence, it would not be okay to feed them with knowledge that may get them confused.

I am sorry, but we understood what it meant to be righteous before white Jesus came on the scene. Further, Jesus was not the first to come up with these fundamental laws.

I say that it would have been better if you had said that there are FUNDAMENTAL LAWS written into the heart of every man and every woman. That makes more sense. Our ancestors knew nothing about Christ for millennia , so whatever he brought as a means for salvation is null and void. Makes no sense because it is nonsense.

Gos gave us a conscience and that was what made Adam hide in the garden after his fall.

How do you know Adam hid in the garden - who told you ?
