You go the GTB and pay your 27k or so, then go to http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/ and follow the instructions. You first of all fill a DS160, on the site, then proceed to booking an appointment. Cross check you DS160 well before submitting o! The info dre can make or mar you

It can be very alarming for people who made sure all their documents are in order to arrive at an Embassy and find out that we're not really all that interested in your documents. Any document can be forged. What we're really interested in is the person at the window. It sounds to me like you presented yourself well and what you had to say matched the information on your application, so the officer didn't feel like s/he had to spend a lot of time digging into your case.

The truth is that most people's interviews are quick, uneventful, and successful. The interview isn't just a formality, though; the interview is what the entire decision hinges on. (Sometimes I see applicants who look great on paper, and I think "This will be easy," and then they totally blow it in the first ten seconds, prompting me to take a harder look. Other times I think a case will be terrible, but it turns out to be good. It all depends on the interview.)

I am asking this question out of sheer curiosity

I had a US Visa appointment recently and the following conversation ensured:

Consular Officer: What are you going to do in the US
me: I am going to attend a conference
CO: What do you do?
me: I work in XYZ company
CO: are you married?
me: Yes
CO: any kids?
me: No
CO: where in the US are you going?
me: washington
CO: what does you husband do?
me: He is self employed
CO: Alright, please pick up your passport and visa on monday, NEXT?
me: Is that all?
CO: yes please, NEXT

See, the issue here is that I spent a lot of time and energy gathering documents, paid bank almost 4k for bank statement, booked hotel etc, only for me to have a 30 seconds interview. I was not asked for my invitation letter, or financial documents.
Visa Officer, Does the embassy do a background check and verify all your documents beforehand? Because it looked too easy, given all the stories I have heard about the US embassy. Is there already a predetermination of whether they will give you the visa before your interview date and the interview a mere formality to get your finger prints done?

I got there early so that i could get good parking space. It started out boring..they had three different halls for 3 different shows..tonto dikeh, burna boy and olamide, free henessy drinks, I slept off in Olamide's show hall for like 1hr cos nothing was happening, after 12 mindnight it began to pick up slowly.

ballabriggs: I got an extra bill of about 800 pounds for three months over the winter and went bunkers. I called and they explained tariff has gone up and I probably also used a lot of heating in the period.

In truth I did turn on the heating system a lot, however, 800 quid just seems over the board. I use Npower and people have warned that it is a bloody rip off. I am looking to change to another source.

sometimes they could make mistakes, they r human, they indicated once that my brother did not include hotel booking, meanwhile, the convention is taking care of accomodation. I had to bring it to their notice so they ate their words, I think ur lawyer should write them and request for a review, as long as u r sure u didnt forge any documents. At least to clear your name, even if not for visa purposes

justokey: Driving to work this morning, I witnessed a very scary scene at the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos. The traffic was moving at a snail's pace as usual, when suddenly I was jolted by a sharp and tremendous vibration. I looked out and noticed that I was atop an expansion joint. What scared me most was that one side of the joint was noticeably vibrating. What I mean is that you could see one part swinging up and down. This happened at exactly the joint where the Lagos bound traffic from Adekunle meet the traffic from Oworoshonki. I was too shocked to take photos/video, perhaps if i have the courage to pass through there tomorrow i will do so.

It has always been vibrating, since I was in secondary school. I don't think the vibration is a cause for panic, there should be some civil engineering explanation for that

Vicjustice: Western embassies take fraud seriously, if you have been caught using any forged document to support your visa application, I'm afraid you may NEVER be approved of a visa again (at least, not in the near future).

I doubt if the flight reservation was forged. Y should anyone forge flight reservation? it is something anybody can do online.

I just got my brother's german visa done on his behalf (he only appeared to submit his application), it took forever and plenty tossing back and forth but eventually got it after going to one cybercafe nearby and arranging another flight reservation.
They printed the visa immediately sef while I waited

Me, my wife and my son was refused German visa in 2011, with the reasons below:


1) A FALSE/COUNTERFEIT/FORGED TRAVEL DOCUMENT WAS PRESENTED
2) JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PURPOSE AND CONDITIONS OF INTENDED STAY WAS NOT PROVIDED
3) THE INFORMATION SUBMITTED REGARDING THE JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PURPOSE AND CONDITIONS OF THE INTENDED STAY WAS NOT RELIABLE


I do not present any false document, the only document i think that might be the forged document was the flight reservation one agent did for us and i didn't pay for the hotel reservation.

All other document were mine and my wife, but we have been refused France Visa twice before going to the German embassy.

Please advice cos we want to apply again for German Visa for summer as a tourist.

I have my own company and my wife works with a law firm

Please does it really matter how much is on my Company Tax clearance and my personal tax clearance

Vicjustice: By signing a visa application form, you have given them the rights to investigate your personal matters: and they do have the rights to contact a bank to find out whether a statement of account is accurate, and the bank does have the rights to confirm or oppose it. But what the bank may never do is to reveal the balance of an account or to reveal details that the embassy does not already have.

Bros, u obviously sound like you dont have any idea about Animal Behaviour.

Male Lions do not hunt (except when hungry, and the female lion has not brought food). u will pass in front of a well fed lion and he will give you a casual glance and continue picking his bones. The female lion...now that is who you should be afraid of. She is a born hunter, he job is to hunt and feed her cubs as well as the male lion. So any living flesh and blood will be hunted and stored.
