We won't call off strike, ASUU tells FG 2013-07-18 00:00:18 Striking university teachers on Wednesday insisted that they would not return to the classrooms until the Federal Government honoured fully the 2009 agreement and Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two parties. This came as there were conflicting reports from the University of Jos over the institution post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. While the striking teachers insisted on Wednesday that the exercise would not hold, the school authorities said the screening was in progress. University teachers under the auspices of the Academic Staff Union of Universities embarked on a nationwide industrial action on July 1, 2013. However, the Ibadan Zonal Coordinator of ASUU, Dr. Adesola Nassir, during a briefing at the University of Lagos, on Wednesday insisted that the strike would not end until the Federal Government respected the signed pact. The zone has members drawn from UNILAG, University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago- Iwoye, Ogun State; Lagos State University, Ojo; Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagu, Ogun State and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Nassir explained that though the union met with the government's representatives, including the members of the Senate Committee on Education last Monday, the meeting ended in a deadlock. He said, "This is because the Federal Government is still not being sincere to address the issues at stake. "The strike will remain for as long as it takes the Federal Government to be faithful to the implementation of the 2009 agreement and its renegotiation as contained in the Memorandum of Understanding reached by both parties in January last year." He explained that the FG's response to the action since it started had shown that it was not ready to address the challenges facing the nation's university system. Meanwhile, the ASUU UNIJOS chairman, Dr. David Jangkam, has urged parents not to send their children to the school for the post-UTME. He said, "No parent should send their children to UNIJOS because the ongoing strike is total, comprehensive and indefinite and so no academic activities in whatever form is supposed to take place." However, the university said the screening was in progress. Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, its Registrar, Mr. Jilli Dandam, called on the public and participating candidates to disregard any contrary announcement from the striking teachers. mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/we-wont-call-off-strike-ASUU-tells-fg/ |
caramel007: ...The funny thing was that I wasn't seeking for advice really cos I know what I should do, as much as it seems a hard decision to take, my head would definitely rule...All the best... |
ogugua88: Is she still the victim when she finds out he's married and chooses to continue loving and sleeping with him? She wasn't under a spell. She made conscious choices. She and the married man share fault.Have you heard of psychological and emotional prisoner or hypnosis. Believe me, when it comes to love, we would do stupid things... Just pray your not in that position. |
How do you know if two people are meant to be together?so in your opinion marriage is now a trial and error game.Did he have to wait until marriage to know if they were meant to be together? Spending his money on small university undergraduates, one can never expect a man with such irresponsible style to succeed in marriage.
Some times, when you are caught in the web you did be confused. The Op might be the victim you know? If at all there any to blame wholly it should be the lying, cunny man who deceived the op into believing he is single. Many gurl out there are still falling victim of this cunny men. We should watch the way we bash the op cos people with same is might not want to come out because of the way we are insulting her. I don't think there is anywhere there op asked us to analyse her past, rather we should help shape her future, what is done is done, the man is divorced. If the op refuses him, he would probably go for YOU that is criticise him on nairaland and I bet you did say I DO to him... Hypocrites |
I want to disagree with this saying "if he cheat with you, he will also cheat on you", its not always like that. Its obvious you love this dude and you'v not been able to replace him, his divorce with his wife has nothing to do with you, probably they were never meant to be. Because I believe if the guy had come to nairaland with his matrimonial problems and the mistake he made by getting married to his wife, we would still be the one advising him to get a divorce (though I am not in support of the fact that he cheated on his wife, he should have gotten the divorce before he started dating you)... A divorced person has every right to seek love and compatibility where he/she finds it. This being said; Since your feelings still runs, I will advise that you should be very careful with the relationship he is asking for, ask him to spell out exactly what he wants from you, spell out what you want from him, if agreed fine, if not, my dear stay clear him. bolaino: I don't need to give u any reason, I love her and that's all that matters. How many times do I need to tell you that love is not in anyway all that matters. What happens when the love dwindle... Some dude these days self, always in a hurry to jump the broom without considering it all the way down. I want to reiterate here that the rate of divorce in d next 15year in my beloved country would hit sky high. Please consider these before marriage; 1. Love: Do I love or can I love this person. 2. Compatibility 3. Friendship 4. Health 5. Reciprocal love: Is the love reciprocated and not one sided (for a perfect formula, the woman's love should be more. My opinion though) 6. Attitude: His or her attitude towards your family. 7. Lastly, how do you view your home with this person, is it going to be a happy or unhappy home, communicative or resentful home, do you see for ever or now. Think. |
Tenderly1: no problem oo. Tell her to try and call us. I know when you get married you will forget usAre u serious he would forget you guys... *Frowning @bolaino right now* |
Tenderly1: HMMM # SHAKES HEAD#Please counsel him... He needs to see clearly beyond those blinding feelings of his, because marriage aint 100% of love, many other things count. Be wise. |
bolaino: we've spent five years together, and I plan on getting married to her next year. Are you sure this is what you want... Marriage aint beans or bf and gf... Emotions could be very tricky. My advice don't settle because you'v not seen any better, compatibility is the key word here. Think well Ooº°˚˚°ºoO |

Hope I am not too late, here is my number 070. Thanks |
grandal, this is my number 070 waiting... Thanks |
We just love each other... |
@op, Where exactly in olateju did you or are you staying. I mean the house no. |
Bolaino, Mr bololo, u don steal my idea bah, I should have patent the idea then sue you... Anyway, so long there is corruption in this hell hole called Nigeria, our mission would be to use unorthodox method of cleansing the body of its cankerworm. Anybody with practical ways of solving the issue of corruption gets my vote, either orthodox or unorthodox. |
Am I not getting something here? Because this ranting by some nlders that the corrupt speaker is from ACN there for ACN is also corrupt amazes me. For christ sake, you don't expect all members of a political party to be as white as snow, please remove the mentality that there is a party without sin just that one is of lesser sin. Let's assume truly, that the speaker is being witch hunted by fashola isn't that a good thing, to me this is exactly what jonathan ought to be doing not shelving the sword just because the criminals are from his party or his friends and sponsors. Lastly, if the speaker has anything on fashola let him speak if not he should shot tha f up and face his trial. Can you imagine the audacity telling his co-legislator to start investigating fashola just because he has been caught stealing, saying he has only stolen #300m, can imagine #300m is nolonger money to some thieves |
To all, I know is disgusting but he deserves it...is a cheat and a player...first I felt petty 4 him bt now he deserves more than dat.
Damn you'r nasty. I believe while he was licking it, you were enjoying it. Now he is a player and a cheat that deserves that sh*t. How many players and cheats have you given blood to... Mtcheeeeew |
Life is crazy and I must say some people do a lot of crazy things for crazy reasons... Let me guess the pastor church's name... Hhum hnmmm hmmm Gospel church |
You all have given the op good advise but I still feel there is Eve in this picture that is pushing the op to marriage and abandoning the responsibility he picked up not up to three years, this same responsibility and more his mother has been shouldering for over 18year... This is your destiny, work with it and make it work for you. NOTE: Tell that young woman to give you time to settle your family so that she can have a peaceful family herself. |
Now the normal ranting has started. Mtcheeew, be a MEND with a clear cut ideology/mission and see how the country will change... In my own 4words "action, action and action" |
