A host that can't respect himself doesn't deserve respect.

There are many Igbos in Bayelsa, there are many Igbos in Akwa Ibom and there are many Igbos in the North, have you heard of any issue between them and Igbos?

No.

They are the real hosts not our insecured brothers and as they long continue to sit on Onne Port, they will to pay.

So because they are host we shouldn't vote in elections abi? They did in 2015 through Oba Akiolu and they are doing it again.

Insecured bascads.

Lmao. We were all here when bayelsa folks descended on the Ibos and attacked the Ibos amidst them.

Same happened in cross River where they warned Ibos to mind their business and not interfere in their politics and king making.

In River state, nobody is allowed to sell land to the Ibos.

The question is why always the Ibos? Are you that shameless? Yeye

Threads like this is the reason there won't be an Igbo Presidency any time soon. Too many people are needlessly provocative and a little too overwhelmed by their resentments and bitterness. It is far worse on the internet and social media than in real life (my daily experience of Igbo-Yoruba interactions in Lagos is one of total harmony), but all the nasty rhetoric in cyberspace still feeds into real life perceptions. The crazy response to Buhari's 2015 election led to the IPOB madness that overheated our polity.
The man we supported lost (I supported Moghalu myself). Wow, no need to say anymore! Igbos deserve so much. They've been truly marginalized and denied their share, but you only need to read what a few of them write or their mindset to really understand why the situation is the way it is. Imagine a VP candidate like Obi that wants to convince every Nigerian that he deserve their vote. He's so focus on why Igbos are victims, and what is wrong with other groups, or altering tribalistic statements. He came to Lagos for campaign, but only went to Igbo dominated areas, knowing fully well that the stats don't add up. You will think he's campaigning to be the general overseer of the SE. You then begin to scratch your head and wonder what is these people's end game? If an uneducated Northern shoe-maker or an Almajiri can do this supposedly simple maths, and play the social politics so well, how come Igbos can't understand or see it better? Why the unending self sabotage? What gain has this over inflated ego gotten you over the decades? Why hope against hope, common sense, and reality? We all share space with people that we don't always agree with, but we should also understand the inevitable mutual interest that binds us, and remember to play/work/relate/ etc to that fact. This way, we ensure to occupy our place in the committee of nations that make up this country. Thanks.

It is very unfortunate you don't have a foresight as an Igbo man. How do you think an Igbo man will become a president when one family in the north comprise of 30 children?

Your mindset should be on how to either restructure Nigeria or gain independence from this hell

Northerners elected Abiola and Obasanjo. Northerners will elect a Yoruba man in 2023.
We cannot set the restructuring agenda in motion or gain independence without political power. No matter our political aspirations, we need the support of other Nigerians, but Ndigbo b'anyi are the most emotional voters in the country. If you choose to keep making enemies (we're not even friends with the South South even though our voting patterns are similar), you are never going to have any political relevance. One day, Ndigbo will understand this after a long time of suffering in bitterness, but the day of learning our lesson is still very far away.

Just listen to yourself. And you wonder why the Yorubas are starting to be hostile towards your tribe. How can you speak about your host in such a threatening manner and you expect them to be accommodating? It is because of such arrogance that is why igbos are seriously marginalized in Nigeria today.

Can you imagine someone from another tribe saying this about the igbos while living in the east? Keep it up and continue being marginalized

The truth is since the '66 pogroms in the North and the civil war after, we have been a traumatized population for a long time who still haven't lifted that shadow off our backs, compounded by the fact that there is no region that has been more discriminated against than us. A lot of our bitterness is somewhat justified and we deserve a little more empathy than we're shown. This lingering trauma makes us highly distrustful of others, and in turn distrusted by others. Too many Igbos just can't help themselves from lashing out and alienating themselves.

It is a self-destructive cycle, but I just don't know how we can turn it around.

I am very sure you are not a student of history. Hausa/Fulani are power mongers who will rather the power stays in their circles than go elsewhere. They couldn't vote Atiku cuz they are afraid of Igbo gaining any prominent position in the government and also because Buhari champions their agenda to rule and dominate Nigeria.

Mark this day in your calendar, Atiku will win 2023 election with Yoruba as his vice while the APC loses cuz they will field a Yoruba for president and an Hausa as the vice.

Igbos don't have to play their stupid games cuz we are self independent and have learnt the hard lesson after civil war.

When the time is right, Nigeria government controlled by Fulanis will be the ones pleading that Igbo's should just go. They will restructure to favor Igbo's but it will be too late. You haven't seen the handwriting on the walls but I have.

Every Igbo man will rather he die than beg or succumb. It's a gift and not a curse. That's why we have come this far after everything was taken from us after civil war

Your psycho analysis of Igbo populace is wrong. To understand a tribe, you need to trace their root. Prior to 1966, Igbo's are known as progressives who are independent, industrious and fight any kind of injustice meted against them.

Even if our next generation know nothing about 66 pogrom, it changes how they will feel or act against any kind of injustice. It's ingrained in the DNA.

Really? Is that why they persist with insufferable whining about "marginalization". Better stop deceiving yourself. Ndigbo want power like any other group want power. But they're so consumed with their hate and bitterness, they are too myopic to engage in productive ways that would facilitate their ascent to the power they desire.
Whether Hausa-Fulanis are power mongers or not, even they understand the principle of equity which is why they voted massively for Abiola (who ran against Tofa, a Northerner) and Obasanjo. They will certainly not vote for Igbos, because they know Igbos despise them. And for this reason, we will continue to be defeated in national politics when we cannot appeal to the the most powerful voting bloc. Politics is a simple game of numbers, but for some reason, too many Igbos can't seem to do simple maths.

Why the hell would anybody beg Igbos for restructuring? Some of you just like making empty noise on social media.

Shut up oga. The other southerners are the emotional hateful voters. The north is just using igbo to deceive them. In 2023 the north will dump them and work with igbos to retain power. Don't you remember 1979 barely 9 years after the war? A war which yorubas prefered cheap "political relevance" against southern interest while pushing anti igbo sentiments which they breed in the west to mainstream? What happened to awolowo after all the shenanigans?

You keep talking nonsense. Yoruba have supported the loosing party since independence. Their clinging on despotic buhari will not save them. Igbos will maintain opposition, nothing bad in it. You can't blackmail us to support someone with ideology different from ours and has no benefit to the south in general. I have not seen anybody talk to NE who have not produced president since 1966 yet missed the opportunity. Southerners are phools.
