Take your religious overzealousness and shove it in your ass.

Counter me with your own reasoning. What I put out there is reasoning and philosophical. Your calling it religious overzealousness casts doubt on your reasoning capacity.

The earlier we realize GOD does not play by our rules, we will think freely. In the Bible GOD will tell David to go to a city and slaughter thousands and show no mercy. He doesn't give a f**k. Even as a Christian I am still logical to admit some of the things did in the name of GOD in the ancient times can be categorized as genocide today. The Israelites treated non-jews as inferiors and gave them the derogatory name known as Gentiles, today that will be called Racism. GOD doesn't care about political correctness or social brouhaha, one of the reasons that make him GOD. I have come to terms with this, as a human , we may not agree with some of the things he does but what can we do?

According to the Bible,
God kill over 100,000 persons,
Satan killed 10

I don't believe there's God

The more I look at the Universe the less convince I am that There is really something Benevolent going on there.
The concept of a creator is someone who is

1; All powerful
2;. All good

When u look at those two pairing, they are uncommon.

Then again, when u look at disaster that afflict the Earth and makes life Miserable
Earthquake, Tornadoes, Sunami, Volcanoes,
Congenital birth defects, pestilence etc

U ask urself if we have an All good and all Powerful God?

Seriously there is really no evidence that God exist, if he does , then he is not all Powerful and all good.

No evidence.
That's why Religion is called Faith.

Faith is what u believed in Absence of evidence

but to you, do spiritual forces exist ?

You people are deceiving yourselves believing the existence of God. You can call me an Atheist if u want.

Religion is a thing you were born to believe.

Its like believing in an invisible car and then handed a manual for the car.

We've been blinded by religion especially in Africa.

If God exist and he's watching the world wouldn't be like this.

I can't stop thinking the fact that people believed we are being punished by God over an apple

The moment you find the truth you'll be free of all bondage.

Yeah sure get it. what you're trying to say is that as the creator, he can do anything that he so wills with his creation just to impress himself. Even making them suffer and languish is all sorts of horrible things and at the end send them to eternal hell, just so he'll feel fulfilled and impressed. I get it very well.

I'd be shocked, the devil is not that nice on his puns.

The existence of the devil (if anything like that), is it also part of God's intention to impress himself and his creation or what?

Man is an amazing creation created by God. Even science corroborates the uniqueness of man;

the makeup of man. It’s something we assume, something we generally take for granted. It’s us after all. We are what we are, we’re who we are. Yet a critical lack of awareness can negatively impact destiny. A lack of awareness impinges spiritual understanding. “A man who is held in honour, yet who lacks spiritual understanding and a teachable heart, is like the beasts that perish.” Psalm 49:20 AMP.

The makeup of man is enormously complex. The physical dimension alone is a huge complexity. Take the plumbing work in the human body. It’s mind boggling – the adult body has 160,934.4 kilometres of blood vessels. A kid has 95,560.64 kilometres. There are millions of veins in the human body. Some of those veins have one way valves, especially the ones in the arms and the legs. The movement of the leg squeezes the veins and pushes blood towards the heart. The valves help prevent backward flow of blood. Imagine someone inserting valves in capillaries. A capillary is about the thickness of a strand of hair. Who does that! It’s serious micro engineering. Whoever designed the human body is an obsessive genius and perfectionist

There’s of course the human heart. The human heart pumps 7,600 litres of blood per day. That’s 15,200 bottles of Coke. In a lifetimes it will pump 200 million litres of blood. Do the maths in bottles of Coke. The heart will beat 2.5 billion times in a lifetime. It’s an industrial strength pumping machine. Has minimal maintenance cost actually. You can’t get that with man-made pumps. Then there’s the human brain. If the brain were a computer it could perform 38,000 trillion operations PER SECOND! As at today the world’s most powerful computer can only manage 0.002% of that capacity

I leave it for now.
Re: Why Does GOD Allow tragic death? by nextstep(m): 1:54pm On Mar 13
Simple, because there is no God...

The concept of the Abrahamic God was invented by humans to explain the Universe and Man's place in it, just like every other mythology and pantheon we've seen. If you think the following are mythology: Zeus, Obatala and Orunmila, Amadioha and Ala, Thor, Buddha... then why hold on to Yahweh?

The concept of God has not existed for the past 6 billion years or so, but was invented once Man was capable of advanced thought, which might be only 500,000 years ago.

There are billions of billions of stars, most of which have planets. If you imagine that there are only .000001% of them which have the potential to harbor life, that's still a lot of potential places where life exists outside Earth. Man is not special, and neither is Earth.

Tragic deaths occurs because it is natural and a form of natural population control. It has nothing to do with any god. God only exist in fiction not reality. If Nigerians can blame Buhari a mere mortal for not acting when Fulani herdsmen kill people, If we can hold the security agents accountable for securing the country, why then does the said god who is acclaimed to be alpha and omega allow innocent people and children die while he sits idle and watch. Isn't that irresponsibility on the path of the said God? Religion has really affected the rational thinking of we Africans that we tend to swallow the theory of God without questioning. A God that is said to be loving, omnipotent and so on will watch while bombs go off in worship centers and people who went to serve this same god will be blown to smitterens while religious folks blame the devil for such occurence without blaming their God. Isn't church and other worship centers supposed to be the safest havens considering the fact that it's portrayed to be God's house? Yet we shout Buhari this, Buhari that when certain tragedies like boko haram or killings happen forgetting you guys don't pray to Buhari but your God who is meant to protect you from such occurence. Why continue serving someone who can't even protect you when it's time?

There is no God anywhere and if there is and he intentionally allows these innocent killings of people he created in his own image, then he must be the most irresponsible leader ever known to mankind.

You won't understand.. Ask why God allow lion and tigers to devour innocent impala just for food. Life must continue through elimination method otherwise, it will not work. You may say creating life is meaningless then, yes you are right to our own understanding. If you want to know if God exists, try initiate a nuclear war that will eliminate all living thing and watch how 'Allen's' will invade the earth and ask you what you want to do.

The main problem with most of you is that this kind of topics goes way above your reasoning capacity. Then you start insulting someone.

Man is mortal, totally inconsequential. He is nothing but just breadth in his nostrils.
And then you see mere mortals questioning the divine powerful creator.
It is just because of God's mercies that endures forever that we are not consumed.

To be candid, I get it right. I was once a believer and I once used the excuse of God will do anything that he wants to it's creation. But you know, had it been he created us dumb like the computer you used in your analogy, no one would complain of how a perfect god created an imperfect world. Because by the logic and reasonings he created us with, we can definitely differentiate between perfection and imperfection. But then we're not dumb and we can see innocent kids dying horribly in a supposed perfect world, all because god wants to impress himself and his creation. Fantastic, isn't?

stagger:
God handed dominion of the earth over to man. So technically speaking, God's jurisdiction over the earth is limited. God will only override that jurisdiction when help is sought in the form of prayer.

Picture this. A nation's government is at war with rebels. It is having difficulty defeating the rebels and needs external help in the form of weapons, training, finannce and logistics. That nation has to officially write to the nation it needs help from, or it has to go to the United Nations Security Council to appeal for such intervention. In appealing for such intervention, valid reasons must be presented to back up the appeal. These reasons are deliberated on by the country or countries whose help is being sought, before they decide whether to answer the call for help or not.

That is how it works in this world. We are at war with the devil and his agents, who bring up all manner of situations to either kill us, make us ill, uncomfortable, have challenges, lose battles, suffer all forms of attacks, etc. At some stage, you will need divine intervention. You therefore have to make a case for such intervention by praying about it, and using strong reasons from the Word of God to back up why you need such intervention.

The court of heaven will decide on your case based on your prayer and strong reasons brought forward (oh yes, heaven has a court o! Jesus is our advocate and intercedes for us against the devil who accuses the brethren continually) -> Read 1 John Chapter 2 ver 1-2; Hebrews 9 ver 15, Hebrews 12 v 24. Also recall when God called an assembly in heaven to decide Ahab's fate in 1 Kings 22.

So prayer, prayer and more prayer is the key. It is our call for divine intervention in the realm of men. We need to call on God continually to avoid mishaps wherever they are waiting, or to pray against untimely death in any form, using scriptures.

Also check well. Many "tragedies" that we see are not because God allows them to happen. He has already handed over dominion of earth and all that is in it to us. But check well: many tragedies are orchestrated by human greed and errors.

For instance, how did nearly the entire Chacopoense FC team of Brazil perish in that air crash in the mountains of Colombia? It was found out that the company that owned the private plane they hired was in financial trouble and cooked the books to cover it all up from the regulators. They started skipping maintenance checks and on the fateful day, NO ALLOWANCE WAS MADE FOR A CRUCIAL REFUELLING STOP. Furthermore, one of the pilots was a shareholder in the company and was aware of the dire financial situation of the company. Why did he not speak up?

Why is Boeing suddenly announcing an upgrade on its MCAS software even before an air investigation has been concluded? I can bet you the company knew that something was not right with the 737MAX model. We are only just hearing that the engine redesign and mounting led to a shift in the model's centre of gravity. So the aircraft now relies entirely on the MCAS software to steady its nose in flight.

There is a cover up somewhere and it will be revealed. This has nothing to do with God, but man's greed!

Op if you ask this question you are in order but I want to also ask another question why does God allow good things to happen? If we blame God for bad things, how much can we praise him for good things or is He not good enough? Let me tell God has designed this world and set its laws. Thats why you go to school to understand these laws and how to apply them. If you touch electric wire, the law says you must be electrocuted. Thats why we have insulators. The same thing with natural disasters. Take for example the school building that collapsed, are you going to blame God for it. In europe some buildings that we built 300 years ago are still standing, you know why they obeyed the laws that govern building. It is only a fool that would blame God for disasters when even in disaster prone areas they have been able to overcome. Just imagine if Nigeria had earthquakes, we would be blaming and cursing God everyday.

Insightful.

After i heard the news of The Ethiopian airline Boeing 737 that crashed today killing over 150 people i felt compelled to drop this piece with a heavy heart and very deep sobriety..

Many people often wonder why GOD allows people to die through several ways when he has the power to avert the cause and atheists have used this issue to discredit the existence of GOD.

The bitter truth is every one of us must die at different times through different means regardless of the age. Whether by human error, gun, natural disasters, wars, plane crash, sickness...WE ALL MUST LEAVE THIS EARTH.

It is quite unfortunate that the earth does not have infinite resources for limitless number of species so by default, people must die for earth's ecological balance to be sustained. Imagine you, your entire family right from the previous 4 generations living in one building without anyone leaving...now you can imagine how choked you all will be.

In like manner, for the earth to maintain its balance, every living species must at one time or the other leave for new ones to have space. So the bitter truth is that people must die and as people leave this earth, new people come in through child birth and this balance must continue regardless of your prayer to live long....IF GOD ANSWERS EVERYBODY'S PRAYER FOR LONG LIFE I GUESS THIS WORLD WILL BE SATURATED.

What GOD cares about is our souls and whilst we cry on earth when anyone dies, to GOD it is home coming cos this earth is just a temporary place for our souls.

Our souls–that invisible and eternal part of us–is the part that connects us with God. It’s what makes us different than all other life forms on the planet: every human has a soul. Your soul is the real you and that is what GOD really cares about and not your earthly body. That’s why Jesus asked, “Is anything worth more than your soul?”(Mark 8:37)

Yes its ok to pray and wish for long life but stop bothering your head about who dies and who lives or when and how you die....it can happen at anytime so start preparing your soul for where you want it to be for eternity.

May the souls of the dead R.I.P..Amen!
