Jesus never referred to himself as the father as we can see in jn 16:28, jn 14:31. In that statement of Jesus that you quoted, he was simply referring to himself as the mediator between The father and us . Also we can interpret that passage by saying that no one can get to the Father except believing in his son Jesus jn 3:16. In one way or the other the only way we have access to God is through the death of Jesus.
