Of all the racial groups of men, it's only black men that seem to not be proud of their hair, especially black African men. Black men are always shaving their hair off as if they are ashamed of it. Hardly would you ever see a black men grow his hair high or long. Why is this so? Is it self hate or poor self esteem?

That's a big lie. The average Nigerian man doesn't style his hair. He just goes to the salon and shaves it off.

What exactly are u even saying....??
So white men don't cut their hair....?? Most men all over the world cut their hair...It's a masculine thing...When social behaviour and culture was being engineered long ago....From dressing to hair, colour, shoes, etc...It's has always been a feminine thing to grow long hair...
Only very few men abroad go around with pony tails just like u find few black men having long hair...It's even hard to maintain.Men dont know how to accommodate such stress...It's women that like all those wahala.
It's like asking why most men don't wear make up?

Even black African parents don't encourage their sons to keep their hair.

The question is, why would a black decide to start growing his hair? Or why don't white men keep low cut?

We all do what suits us and no one has it better than the other. Growing our hairs is not our thing. We mustn't do it cause some other races do. We're all unique in our own ways. These white folks may not look good on low cut given how feeble their hairs are.

Not everything done by the white man is better.

If you are proud of a part of your body, you wouldn't cut it off. You'll showcase it. Black men do the opposite. In Nigeria we even associate keeping hair with being irresponsible. How ridiculous.

Only married men or older men who really don't bother about their looks do that, besides that shaving your head bald it's a style of its own, some men are naturally bald at the front so they shave it all

One could also make an argument that why do black women hate their hair? Hardly you see black women keeping natural hair, but with weave on, Brazilian hair etc. Its all about convenience.

Besides, men not keeping their hair is cultural. In Nigeria, it is convenience, decent, and cost effective. Though if you look around, you'll see guys keeping dreads, afro and different style. Confirmation bias at best.

The audacity of this troll. Everyone knows no one hates their hair more than black women. It's a multi billion dollar industry and all the health problem stemming from perms and lies about god bring perfect won't stop it. I won't even get starting on the bleaching. You probably get a weave and perm now. If you were only born white.

I don't quite subscribe to your logic. So why do you cut your finger nails? We cut our hair and line it in conjunction with our beards. To us, our hair type is neater that way. Oyibo does what suits them and we do ours. We must not keep our hair. Let them cut theirs.

You ladies keep long hair and we love it. Tell me, how comfortable are those braids when you are standing or walking under the hot sun? There's a reason why most African women aren't born with long hair like other continents. The weather will make any guy think otherwise. There's already heat down south and you want us to add some north again? Abeg!
Re: Black Men And Their Hair by Nobody: 4:43pm On May 12, 2019
Long hair on a man's head is unnecessary.

Re: Black Men And Their Hair by Nobody: 8:21pm On May 12, 2019
White men shave their hair but not too low.. just to a reasonable extent as it's their style and most black men in the US keep dreads except maybe your job requires you shave it off which most do anyway. Most black ppls hair is kinda brittle and hard while white men have soft falling hair guess that's why we can't keep hair most of the time as it'll look tardy and unkept, you should touch a white man's hair to get the picture I'm trying to paint

Asian ppls hair are the worst tho, it falls as they're sprouting lol
