Africa is bigger than Europe. In Europe, people can travel easily from one country to another without visas and via trains too.

In Africa, the logistics of travel and visa issuance to fans makes the neutral venue option a commercially non-viable option. It was considered years back and CAF decided to use the home-away option just like in Asia and South America's Copa Libertadores.

The issue is that this opens the door for desperate teams to employ all sorts of tactics to try to win when the 1st leg ends in a draw.

We saw what happened last year when fan violence between River Plate and Boca Juniors (Argentina's equivalent of El Clasico) raised enough security concerns to have the 2nd leg of the Copa Libertadores moved to Spain.

As a professional you can't just abandon a game half way because of injustice. We have seen more obvious cases of robbery and game still finished. According to the VAR the system was faulty and so couldn't be used.I blame CAF for this. If every team keep walking away there won't be football again. BTW why will a final be two legged. CAF has a lot of ammendment to do

it has been repeating itself every season. I will never watch CAF CL until they stop this nonsense. I gave up on them after last year final experience.

Some of the comments here sha.... So a team scores a goal and it was disallowed, there is VAR in use but the referee decides not to consult it.... And some people are saying Wydad should have continued the match in order to save the face of Africa...what is the use of VAR if not for situations like this?.. Arrant nonsense... Until more disgrace comes to Africa, we will never learn to do what is right.. An average Nigerian mentality... Trying to save face... The reason why we are easily brainwashed and cajoled..
