Hello. Start your WES verification for your OND and HND (you have 2 ‘or more’ certificates). Also start reading for IELTS.

I believe you have checked if you are eligible for express entry (you most likely are)

Once WES and Ielts is out you can then submit your express entry profile.

Hello, thank you for your quick response and for all your advice, I deeply appreciate it.

Please when you say issued by the government, can I also use a NIN Card?

Please Is it acceptable?

MissyVee007:
If you don't have a licence, you can use a voters card or any other ID issued by the government. You can’t use a land or property deed, it’s not a valid proof of address as listed on their website.

If you can’t get ID, They also accept utility bills or a bank statement that has your address listed. That should be an easier option.

Wow, okay thank you very much for your quick reply, I deeply appreciate it

Natalie27:
just get your bank statement if that has your current address. That's what i used.

How long did your evaluation take please?

April to June. That's 3 months. The said 14 weeks then.

This was before the put that caveat on their website. I think the request for WAEC by WES made potential applicants rush to their platform, hence the longer time it takes now (20 weeks).

Hello everyone, good afternoon, please i have an issue with the UK Police Report Certificate

I'm about to apply for my UK police report, I saw on their website that I must provide 1 document that shows my Name and my Current Address within the last 12 Months

The site mentioned (Drivers License) but I don't drive so I don't have 1, the website mentioned (ID Card) from my country, please do they mean International Passport? If yes it's only my name that's there, no my current address is visible.

They also mentioned (Immigration Document) , My IELTS and ICES Certificates have both my Name and my Current Address please can I use any of them? And submit it for proof of Address? For the UK police report Certificate?

Please i will appreciate your help and advise, thank you in advance

For ID use bio data page of passport.
For Proof of Address use your Nigerian Bank Statement (it should typically have your name and address)...this is just one of many options they give.

Here is a list of acceptable documents for proof of address

It is totally up to you, if you have a particular province in mind then pick it.. if not you can select all.

Ok, just wanted to be open to about two provinces, I don’t really know how it worked for those who have gone with the “all province” option. I’m hoping it doesn’t mean one will be thrown to a province they don’t like.

Selecting them only means that if the province opens up for their PNP program, they can send you a notification/letter of interest depending on what they are looking for , not like you get forcefully sent to a province.

They sent mine June 26th, i got October 28 because it was sent through regular mail. When NIPOST brought, it was in tatters. I had to pay for an additional report and courier which i got within a week so i can go into the pool.

If you have money, you can pay to be sent via courier. If not, wait. But have it in mind, you can only get it when you get it.

Cheers.

VO: Ottawa…found out today.

Why Canada?

I have had family and friends relocate abroad but never really considered it cuz I had previously lived abroad during MSc. and didn’t stay back due to some reasons. My wife as well had no abroad leanings beyond vacations.
Working in Nigeria wasn’t easy; came close to a number of big jobs but didn’t get selected at final AC stage. The “small” companies I worked for had issues paying salaries on time or at all. I quit my job, archived my CV and focused on building my business in Nigeria. However, an issue that rendered me immobile (unable to make money too) for some days, made me realize the benefits of a country that considers the healthcare and welfare of its citizens paramount (go NDP!).

What Canada?

ECA:
WES was a breeze for me due to abroad MSc. I didn’t include my Nigerian degree. 21st, July – 17th Sep, 2018. My wife’s own took much longer cuz of Naija factor but we didn’t use it in the end cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t do at all cuz points were enough.

IELTS:
I already posted my IELTS story in part 5 . 29th Sept, 2018 – L 9, R 9, S 8, W 7.5. My wife didn’t write cuz points were enough. My kid didn’t write cuz kids don’t listen.

ITA v1:
We got our first ITA on Oct 29th, 2018 but rejected it cuz I had to use POF for business.

Medical v1:
We had our medicals on Nov 8th, 2018. Mine went smoothly. During our doctor interview, I mentioned my asthma history while my wife told him about her thyroid gland history. He said hers wasn’t an issue according to the system/software but he would double-check and get back to us. The waiting period was filled with anxiety. The next day, the nurse called to inform us that we passed. My kid did his medicals…yeah! finally contributing when points are not being taken.

ITA v3: April 17th, 2018.

POF:
It took a while to return to our account. Pls blame my clients, they are not alright…all right.
We had our funds in a joint (just my wife and I...my kid wasn’t happy about being excluded cuz he definitely contributed money) Stanbic Mutual Funds account. I logged in and printed our account statement in PDF, combined it with the scanned letter from Stanbic.

NOC:
Initially selected 2147 based on my previous job titles, but when I read the rules and found out that job role trumps trudeaus job title, I switched to 2281. My former offices owed it to me (literally and financially) to “follow my advice” on how to structure the letters.

LoE:
My letter was 63 pages long…attached docs inclusive oh. I explained every document uploaded in placeholders and attached to the LoE.
Major explanations:
i- POF: I felt I had to explain the source of POF cuz it came in bulk few days after/before ITAv3. I attached statements from my company account, CAC docs, biz docs (Purchase Orders, Contracts, etc.)
ii- Wife’s name: My wife had been using a shortened version of her name on ALL her official documents except her birth certificate which has the spiritual version. Her change of name after marriage was from her shortened version to her current name.

When Canada?

AOR/Post AOR:
May 27th, 2019
The wait was pretty chill for me as I have previously handled visa applications all by myself. I registered on immitracker and saw people going green in 69 days…we started praying for a speedy conclusion. grin
My wife occasionally asked for updates…but the frequency increased towards the end of 2019 as we needed to plan 2020.
My kid didn’t ask for updates at the beginning…neither at the middle nor the end. I’m beginning to suspect he doesn’t know what’s going on.
I joined the April/May AOR WhatsApp group around this time.
Our account was pretty uneventful till our medical expired Nov 8th 2019…ghost update. I read some people’s stories on canadavisa forum where they got their medicals extended so we were hopeful.
On Nov 10th, my wife gave birth to another kid who is also enjoying points he didn’t contribute to. We raised a CSE the following day etc (see timeline). IOM was kind enough to schedule us for the baby’s medical a day after baby’s passport was ready. I made a mistake when signing the IMM0008 form so we got an ADR for it. Baby’s UCI was ready on Dec 7th.
Medical v2 (entire family excluding new baby) requested on Dec 10th. MEPv2 on Dec 19th.
Got an ADR for updated POF even though I included it when uploading docs in response to ADR for Baby.
We received the PPR email on Jan 3rd, 2020.

How Canada?

Will find out after landing. cool

We are saying a big thank you to all those that answered our questions and pointed us in the right direction. We appreciate all the positive messages in response to my application status updates. We pray everyone’s PR dream is fulfilled.

God bless!

We are pleased to advise you that your report was completed and mailed to you on November 25. Please allow more time for delivery if you haven’t received it already. Based on our experience, international mail can take 2-8 weeks. It has now been almost 6 weeks. Should I still wait or go to the nearest post office as advised by neighbour? Thank you.

Am at 467 now and will lose 5 points at the end of February my TEF expiring in September, and all efforts to make her sit and study for IELTS seems to be in vain, meanwhile assessing her cert could take 2 more months.Hmmmm. It is hard oooo

Stay optimistic..i believe the score will drop before that time.If the draws are constantly done on a 2 weeks period..till that end of February..that about 5 draws till then..so you would likely get ITA..

- loss of african man power (when the wife begins to taste freedom and rights in canada she may change.
- fear of starting again. Some are earning big here and already old to start hustle from scratch.
- ego and pride.
- no cheap domestic staff- heard of a top bank oga whose wife got pnp. He had to babysit and change diapers sometimes.(people with 2 maids in 9ja) he came back home.

That's true..but couples that hustle the process together to come to Canada hardly have these issues except a wife that is sponsored to come over.. I see many of them here in Canada and relate with them. When you marry a decent girl..whether she is in Canada or USA she will still respect you..because it's in her.
