I'm talking about the law here, the reason for your anger and assaulting someone doesn't concern the law, you're to learn to control your anger. If you have issues with anyone report to the authorities.

At the end of the case, the court won't charge nor punish the wife for cheating, it's the man who beat up the wife that will be charged and punished and even pay for medical treatment.

Had it been we're in Sharia state, that's another case for punishment.
