I don't eat in 99% of the parties I've attended, and I always make sure I drink before going to most parties |

Would just be myself, won't be pissed or nothing. .i hate it so much when people tell me to go and meet those in charge of sharing food to collect whenever I've not been served. I'd rather tell the person hosting whatever celebration is going on. Then the person should be the person to tell them to serve No be so I hungry reach na.. 1 Like |

That thing dey pain.. That was how I went for an occasion, I was enjoying the party together with the music rendered by the guest artist. A guy approached me and said politely Sir what do you care for and i said what do you have he mentioned several delicacies, i told him please can you get me Ofada rice and being a round table he said no problems i waited ehnn, Na people dey wak for my face I know fit call nobody to complain too even people that we sitted together are even preparing for second round in my mind I said God na so I go commot for hear can't even see the guy at sight, by the time i saw him he said nothing that they are preparing for Amala in my mind again I said what!!! Lesson when you are asked what you want to eat just say anything or else you will just be fighting your self. 1 Like |

Oseniade: see, no be about chop belefull come o. the reason why people bad when they are not served food is not primarily because they are hungry, there is this feeling of rejection when everyone except you have food in front of them. You will find out that food may come and you may end up taking just a few spoons and and you are ok. but not been served makes it feel as though you gate crashed the party and wasn't invited its more painful when you have saucy waiters wey dey look face dey share food they serve very close to you, and just skip you and go to the other side . the rejection is painful even if you have enough money to feed everyone there. my take: 1. dress well when going for a party even if you are invited by somebody that was invited by somebody else. if you are well dressed and you beckon on a waiter/server, he/she will oblige and listen to you. they might even think you are related to the celebrant and wouldn't want to be insultive. 2. when you enter any reception hall, view the setting of the hall and sit at a strategic location i do this a lot. choose a table that things are likely to flow to, don't be scared. if at last they dont want you there, they will respectfully move you to anther table just because you are well dressed 2 Likes |

Food is an African culture. You can not separate food from most Nigerian and other African although there are exceptions to this perception. At the same time the chemistry will show in their face if one is not given food in a ceremony. Certainly, one will fill being under valued. 1 Like |
I remembered when I went for an occasion and was not given food. It took me time to forget that pain ooh!!. Then I was young, so [b]my elder sister gave me the meat she was chewing inside her mouth since I didn't get my own food.[/quote Mehnnn...@bolded. Was it that baaad Well...I'm this kinda person that doesn't like to draw attention to myself. So I'll wear a cheerful look if I dont get served or better still be minding my phone like nothing else matters. I won't feel bad but embarrassed. Though ive learnt not to attend parties on empty stomach a long time ago. Sometimes when I get to the venue feeling hungry, I'll just port enter the nearest eatery and fill my stomach and then come back to the party. If they serve me, fine. If not, I keep calm. I hate embarrassment. 1 Like |

charliboy654: Thanks for your care, I noticed it 6 years ago when I was in school...none that I know of for now. but I was told to take pain reliever after eating rice or coat it with red oil before eating, I have tried the later but sometimes I still experience the pain. |

Nothing, I understand and am willing to give up my food for someone else if there isn't enough to go round. If I go to a friend's occasion, I am going there to rejoice with the person, not to assauge my starvation. I thank God that I have food at home. But I usually ask for cold water and turn the situation to play. |

Theres something I learnt from my dad. Before this man arrives at any occasion, him and his Deciples (friends) always stop at a nearby joint to take at least, 2 bottles each and eat something first that makes him a bit high and full when getting to the occasion and you'll see him and his friend more lively than anyone else.. I have been doin same thing and trust me, it works well o. |
