For B Example
Find a number that can divide the figure in the last part of the triangle that when square will give you the figure in the middle. Understood??

6) 121

7) The answer should be 1

For A. Example
Square the figure in the Box shape and subtract the lowest from the highest to get the figure in the circle shape

Divided the upper number by the down number and multiplying the answer by the middle number. Or square root of the middle number multiplying by the down number.

Ladylite:

It's square root ma. The lowest number is multiplied by the square root of the number above and the answer is the number on the triangle cheesy

E.g first diagram is 4*root of 9 = 12, where root of 9 is 3

Hope it is clear

Your head dey there sis.

When they give a primary 6 student homework, the mother cannot solve.

I remember one teacher who will tell his girl students, that if there was no other reason to be serious when maths is taught, the ability to help your children on their homework should be enough motivation. And it worked.

This looks like Lantern series. Why would they publish book with incorrect answers. Didn't they give the book to qualified mathematics teachers to edit. They are in a hurry to make profit without proper investment. The ministry of education should bound books like this. The same goes with some of the other mathematics text books they have published. Some of the exercise don't have correct answers. We should strive for excellence.

Exercise B 6.Divide A/11*A/11=121 A*A/121=121/1 Cross multiply Square root of A*A=Square root of 121*121 A=121
7. .Divide 2/A*2/A=4/1 4/A*A=4/1 cross multiply A*A*4=4*1 divide both sides with 4 A*A=1 Square root of A*A=Square root of 1 A=1
8. Divide A/9*A/9=169 A*A/81=169/1 cross multiply A*A*1=81*169 find square root of both sides A=9*13 A=117
9. 3/1* 3/1=9/1=9

For Exercise A Find the square of each number subtract each answers 1. 20*20 - 17*17 400 -289=111
2. A*A -9*9=40 A*A-81=40 Collect like terms -81 cross to meet 40 and changes to +81 A*A=40+81 A*A =121 Find square root of each side A= 11
3. 5*5 -A*A =9 25-A*A = 9c collect like terms 25-9=A*A 16 = A*A find square root of both sides 4 =A orA=4
4. 30*30 - 25*25 900-625 =275
5. 8*8 -7*7 64 - 49 = 15

8. √169 * 9 = 117 B

9. (3/1)² = 9 E

Test 3

1. 20²-17² =111 (No answer)

2. √(40+9²) = 11 A

3. 30²-25² = 275 E

4. 8²-7²= 15

First Diagram

1. Square root of 9 = 3
2. 3 * 4 = 12

Second Diagram

1.Square of 10 = 100
2. Square of 7 = 49
4. 100 - 49 = 51

Exactly, that's the solution. This Quantitative Reasoning no too hard o.

Lol cheesy the writer of this book deserves an Award, they just dont want parents to help their kids do the homework, so they make the Examples look very hard to confuse the Adults.

It is just simple

Additions
Multiplications
Subtractions
Divisions

so, forget the Examples and concentrate on the WorkSums, thats where you would see the parterns to follow.

Oga stop complaining, you dont need this Epistle if you look at it with the eye of a kid, the Answer is there but your kmowledge of Advance Mathemathics would not allow you to see the answer, it is not called Quantitative reasoning for no reason, so always think outside the box, in this case (Forget the Examples) and look at the sums, and the answer you would find grin

Your number 7 is wrong....

You can't use two different method to solve questions...

You use multiplication Sign in ques 6
Why use division sign for ques 7
