Lostz:This means the sculpture was sculpted in Ife in the 6TH century Simples "The goal, scored in the first half, was Ronaldo's 10th of the season. " The subject is The goal NOT The first half or Ronaldo |

Lostz:Address the specific sentence in question from a grammatical or syntactic perspective and stop bluffing The subject of the sentence is THE SCULPTURE The sentence functions to tell us about The Sculpture Its temporal and geographical origin It does not function to tell us anything about Ife |

0m0nnakoda:the 6th century there was to describe/characterize Ife. the car, parked in front of that white building... is it the building that is white or the car? is the car the subject or the building? the 6th century southwestern Yoruba city is phrase used to describe/characterize Ife. Lostz: Why 6th century Ife why not 8th century Ife Why not 2020 Ife "A phrase used to describe " is an adjectival phrase not the subject In this instance it describes what ?The subject which is the sculpture Guy you really are ridiculing yourself The sculpture was sculpted in Ife in thr 6th century that is the message. We are given information About the sculpture Not Ife There is NOTHING there telling us why or how 6th century Ife is different from 2020 Ife |

Powersurge: But the Mexican government is not an archaeological authority. I probably know a lot more about these things than the Mexican government. Buhari might as well claim that Usman Dan Fodio invaded Hausaland in 1066. The facts will not tally with such a claim. The same situation exists now, as I know there is no Ife artwork collection of the 6th century |

klax: I can assure you that that artwork is not a 6th century artwork. They probably wanted to write 16th century which is the 1500s. Otherwise, there should be a collection of 6th century Ife bronze work in existence. The oldest of such intricate works outside the Nok artworks, were excavated in Igbo Ukwu, attributable to the Nris. They pre-date the Benin and Ife artworks by several centuries 1 Like |

BanevsJoker: OK, while I agree with the 'error' acknowledgement, I do not agree with the adjective "simple", additonal 1,000yrs error is not "simple". However I like your acknowledgement, as no one is above mistakes, not even me. |

You a responsible family man?? You must be high on something. I don't smoke or I would have asked you for a stick. 'Uncouth and ill-bred'? You mean when you're on the wrong side of a brickbat, right? Stop deceiving yourself, you're still a boy. If at your age you don't understand the importance of cultural heritage and identity; if at your age you have to reduce everything to its food value. You are still a boy... But it is rather interesting that as a boy you have already sired a boy. God help us. Return to your mum's breast now, even if you have to compete with your boy. AbuTwins: |

0m0nnakoda:the writer is trying to tell you that Ife was founded around the 6th century. The Mexican government delivered to Nigeria on Tuesday an ancient bronze sculpture seized by customs agents at Mexico City airport as its buyer tried to bring it into this country. was there even anything call Mexico in the 6th century? to talk of airport? custom ? Mexico first airport was in 1915 according to Wikipedia ? that simple phrase there you cannot understand |
