I am not a huge fan of Jonathan but please can we put our sentiments aside and stop making a mountain out of a molehill? We have more burning issues like ensuring that neither Atiku nor IBB nor even Jonathan for that matter ascend to power next year, to worry about. But if we are going to do that, we should do it at the polls.

Let us not become like the very people we castigate by whipping up undue religious or ethnic sentiments or running down people unfairly because we do not like them.

We have had several muslim Presidents in the past who observe their prayers in public every Friday by standing behind an imam, shoulder to shoulder with common Nigerians, and touching their forehead to the dust several times in supplication to God. How come that was never an issue?

Even the Saudi monarch in all his royalty observes his prayers publicly sometimes so what is the big deal?

Or do you want Jonathan to become like the proverbial Nza, the bird who, after a sumptuous meal decided to challenge his chi to a fight?

Why do most Nigerians allow religiosity to becloud their common sense? How many years have we been praying for Nigeria without any results? What level of prayer took the Swedes, Germans, English, Chinese and Indians to where they are today?
