EMEKUSBOY9: Thanks for taking time to share your experience. Really eye opening. Please, would brand sneakers business be ideal? Thinking of targeting and directly selling to their university students(hoping they would refer their friends along the line) and other people; this without renting a shop yet. Would this be possible? Please let me know what you think and could suggest. 2 Likes |

Livescores: Paris, Lisbon, Brussels is full of young players brought over by scammers and left stranded in hotels. If I was you, I would focus on training and playing at a good level in West Africa till end of the year as Coro don scatter football leagues all over. 1 Like |

Livescores: Talent is universal, language is not. The coaches want to work with players that understand French. They have no time to wait to teach anyone, so anglophone talent must be 20% better than anglophone. If you can go to a FCFA country, learn the language, adapt and get into a club, cool. 2 Likes |

OP - I hail una! I first went to CIV in 2008, as I made friends within the Ivorian community in London. I shot a documentary in Abidjan about their music called 'Coupe Decale' which is a precursor to the 'Naija afrobeats' scene. I stayed in a friend's house which his dad earned through politics. When I say big man, the house had no less than 20 rooms, of which myself and another film-maker stayed in. That was the first wave of Coupe so artists like Molare, Douk Saga, Tevecinq, Djassacite were all ruling and the vibe was fire. My French was ok when I arrived but improved quickly as I stayed there for 6 weeks. Our driver at the time, was part of Gbagbo's presidential guard, who later fled to Italy after the civil war with Ouattara. I was watching TV once that year and a newscaster was speaking on location, rapping fluent francais. Then her name came on the screen, Chima Okere, I jumped up from the chair. Haba. My friend, Aka - a Bete - then told me about the first wave of Igbos who were offered refuge after our civil war. The majority of them settled in Treichville but obviously bought land/property in other places and moved into other suburbs. Post filming, I had to go and send e-mails in the internet shops - that was when you go hear full strength naija pidgin as the boys were hustling hard on the PC screens. Clearly, there are good and bad, our problem as Nigerians is that we complain about naija and then go to other countries to behave in the same way that messed up Nigeria. That is wrong. However, being hard-headed, a large minority will follow that route. Have you been to Grand Bassam/Assinie as those places are super chilled and relaxing. As for Ivorians, I got a lot of X for them, as they do share and are kinder and more open than Nigerians generally. Anyway, I don speak my own. More Fire 15 Likes 1 Share |

UKBobo: My guy as am reading your "write up" u are just making me feel as if am still in ivory coast. everything u wrote really portrays what i saw over there. Anybody that travel to ivory coast and did not know " grand bassam" has not travel to ivory coast . one thing i love about that place is because of their "white sand beach". Hope to write something about that place someday . Thanks anyway for commenting on my thread. 6 Likes 1 Share |

You ever chop 'Tchep' or 'Tieboudienne' from those Senegalese madams in the CBD. That food sweet me pass! I saw big changes in mentality there from visiting numerous times from 2008 to 2018. Previously, they thought they were French, just living in Ivory Coast. As Frantz Fanon said, 'Black Skin, White Mask'. However after Operationn Licorne they done see how the French just see them as ni55ers so they have begun to re-orient themselves as Ivorians and Africans first. As for the women, my goodness...the knacking there is different gravy. Every shape madam, but if you like small waist to azz ratio - your eye go yapa! 7 Likes |

UKBobo:hahahahaha, bad guy, every country has thier own different breed of women, most of my guys that have travelled out to South Africa and Kenya said thier women don't date you because of money, is it so in other African countries, but why Nigerian women put money as a first criteria bfor they date a guy 3 Likes |
Re: My Sweet "Ivory Coast" Memories by Jaybnjamin(m): 12:28pm On Apr 21, 2020 |
Goodman247: Let me answer this We Nigerian men are the cause. No matter how you wanna spin it. Tell a guy to go gym up, read books for knowledge, acquire necessary skills etc. The people will tell you to go and make money . why making money is Paramount no doubt . but overtime, we put so much emphasis on money making and the sing and praises is every where while disregarding other crucial life attributes that will make a dude stand out money or no money. We built our society strictly on affluence and people don't strive anymore for other qualities once they have a enough money to throw around . so yes, don't blame the female folks, blame the men that thinks with money, everything is under their feet women included. Even some of these other African countries are emulating fast from us ,its left for the men over their to succumb or thrash the system out. 22 Likes 1 Share |

HI GUYS, Hope everyone is good over there. Am here to talk more about a particular day that made "ivory coast " different from the rest of Africa. And this day of the week is called SATURDAY by we Nigerians but in "ivory coast " is called SAMEDI SUA( pronounced this way by we Nigerians) . Before i start i want to digress a little bit from this topic to what i had not told you people on this forum. i forgot to mention this things on my previous post. "ivory coast" has the cleanest water have ever seen my life and in Africa for me( my own thought and some of the Nigerians over there also) This crystal cleared water is so clean to an extent you can even use it as a mirror . This water is not "heavy " but very lite for u to consume one liter at once. (their public water is cleaner than our table water) no lies! Believe me I love my country more than any country but i have too be sincere when u see working society. Please if u are wise you should know where am going. Am talking about people who have the plans to have a "water company" over there..... And if you cannot go there and find the way their water is produced or seek for advice from an Ivorian.... Please dnt go there and mess your self on the way we produce water here in Nigeria. (because no body will buy it) Firstly, let me tell u why they achieve such big feet.. Ivorian "water board " is been ran by FRENCH PEOPLE. ( have forgotten the name of this board). Please you people should listen. In ivory coast when is 2pm all their water in that country will be seized and brought back by 5 pm. After it must have been treated ( this is when i was there ooo for two years, i dnt know about now because i can only write my own expirence). it has this JINK and JAVEL smells when u first open the tap. but after some water has ran out, it becomes normal and "magical " . you see why you dnt even compare it with Nigerian table water? ( i dnt even buy table water when am there that is waste of money) Most of there table water, if not all their table water. is from "FRANCE" because some of the local buiness men need to beat the one from the local tap, before it consider "buyable " ( oh my God) this tap are the local tap u see anywere and every underdeveloped places. this is too much respect to them Now to my main update on "SAMEDI SUA" Other days in "ivory coast " are " fun and sweet" but all foreigners and Ivorian loved SATURDAYS the - SAMEDI SUA . This day is a day anybody need to expirence in his or her life. Listen guys, girls has too much rights.... on Saturdays, even if your papa and mama na soldiers and police put together. Please dnt go there and see a girl of 15 and 16 and ask her what is she doing in by 11 or 12 am at midnight. ( Na there u go take show your foolishness) and maybe say u won even toast her, ( you don loss her be that) This day is so special, that we saved money because of it. Well this part should be left for my guy "bobby" and Chidi " because i already have a woman at home. Starting from Friday morning network might even be " bad" because everybody is calling and making arrangements. Let me allow u people reading this to have a taste of it, even if you are still in Nigeria. take some little time as u are reading this to " Close your eyes and imagine all the new year eve you had spent in nigeria and how the street is like" That is how Saturdays is in "ivory coast " Please lets us remember our best days on earth as Nigerian is mostly on "new year even", when you can give freely and have real fun. i mean fun that u dnt even think of going home that same night. ( that is to tell u people that ivory coast is " fun city " ) for me, my woman is always waiting for me to come from anywhere i went too .( she dnt care if i travel to Nigeria , but i must be present on Saturdays) dnt blame her this ladies boast on Monday when to go to school on Monday. "Saturday is also a day to get a new girl friend and also loss a girl friend, like wise men losing women Among us only "Isioma" sleep at church saturday night I remember how many Nigerians that don't want to go back because of this "Saturday trap" they refused to go back to Nigeria . infact they said they will never leave I remember if u are a Nigerian, and the advice most nigerians will first give u is that ( oboy no allow fun carry u go oooooo) . Ladies and gentlemen let me stop here and update again as days pass by. Please guys.... Wait for another sweet update. Thanks and God bless cc:odinga1of cc:claraola 9 Likes |
