We got to the car and drove straight towards Utako.
“ Why you so quiet Jay?” She broke the silence
“Well I’m thinking about work tomorrow, I hate Mondays.” I replied

She adjusted her seat to recline backwards and closed her eyes as if she wanted to take a nap so I continued with my driving.
As we approached her estate gate, she asked me to slow down so I parked off the road about 500 meters away from the gate and wound down a little for fresh air.

“I really had fun tonight Jay” She said
“Me too” I shrugged and looked out of the window starring at nothing.
“Jay look here” As I turned to look at her she pulled my head close and gave me the deepest French kiss of my life. Her lips were so soft, I could smell the vanilla fragrance of her hair moisturizer. She dragged me to her already lowered seat and we continued kissing. Her arms were tightly wound around me.

Suddenly bright headlamps shone through my car. We both froze. I glanced back quickly to discover that a white SUV had parked directly behind us. Then a guy came out from the passenger side, stood for a while then took a pee by the sidewalk and thereafter got back into the car. After about 3 minutes, the car pulled out and sped off leaving only our car on the lonely road.

“ Do you think your husband will be back by now?” I asked
“ He’s never back until after midnight, that’s even if he comes home today” she replied in a sarcastic tone
“ I have to go Jay, I had a nice time ” she said stroking my beards
Then she gave me a peck on the cheek and alighted from the car.

As she walked towards her estate gate, a rare feeling of guilt was going thru me. I just had a romantic evening with someone’s wife and I just couldn’t figure out the feeling.
As if she knew I was watching she glanced back and I could see a very bright smile on her face. I snapped out of my frenzy and drove home.

I got home worn out. I had a penile hardon throughput the better part of the evening. I couldn’t even take my clothes off, i just slumped on the bed. Then my phone beeped with a message.
It read “ Thanks for today Jay, you made my day. Will I see you on Friday?”
My hatred for Mondays couldn’t even let me reply.
I just collapsed on my bed and slept off.

So I was driving down my area one cool evening you know how Utako can be, people buying Suya, mallam selling fruits, young chics walking aimlessly about and then someone caught my attention.

She was on the other side of the road holding a small keg in her hand. Looking at this pretty damsel made my heart melt. You know those kind of people you see at first sight and you fall in love with instantly. What’s this beauty doing here?.
So I slowed down and veered off the road to the sidewalk watching her like a Lion about to catch his prey.

She looked at me for some seconds I guess trying to decide if to come in or not so I quickly chipped in “ it’s okay if you don’t want to, I can as well park my car and walk you down”. Then she glanced around as if checking to see if anyone saw her and quickly came in.

My heart pounded like wen the mortar hits the yam “ beside me was this beautiful well rounded chic, with a face like Beyoncé’s. Her hips alone had filled the seat beside me. In my mind I was like “ Kai, this babe get yansh oo. Hmmm you go see commando today.

“Do you stay around here I asked?” So she started to explain how she was home alone watching a movie and PHCN took light and she had to go get fuel. Anyway I told her I was on my way to sip some beer and see my homeboys at a lounge some streets away if she cared to join me. She declined.

Since I didn’t have the contact on my phone I was like ‘ sorry I don’t have this number ’ so she narrated how we met two weeks earlier. So I was like “oh I remember now Lilian, you didn’t give me your number so I accepted my fate that day, how you doing?.

She asked where I was and I told her am home but will soon be going to my usual spot where I will booze and forget about the dwindling economy and buhari’s everlasting stupidity..
She laughed and muttered some stuff I didn’t hear and cut the call.
I sank back into the couch I was sitting on and wondered why she refused to give me her number at first then called me now.

For the record I don’t date married women and the only time I had a one night stand with a married woman we were both drunk after a wedding reception I went for at Calabar after which I vowed never to do such again. That’s a story for another day tho.

6pm I was at my usual spot with my homeboys chilling. The blast from the speakers was terrific. The coloured lights were rolling back and forth. At the other corner a bootylicios chubby girl was twerking for one clown that was obviously high cos he just kept slapping her bum without provocation. That kind of slap you give when pounding a girl from the back. While he was kind of gradually pissing me off, it looked like his chubby girlfriend was obviously enjoying the PDA.

I was sipping on my second bottle when my phone rang “ Hello Jay, it’s Lilian.

The unbalanced mixture of wild euphoria and mild confusion throughout the following week was unexplainable. Some feeling like a teen falling in love for the first time. At a point I will be smiling to myself then after a while I will be wondering what’s making me happy.
All I could think of was Lilian.
So on Wednesday my unit head walked up to my desk.

“ Jay what is happening ”? “The reports I asked you to prepare for the monthly MPR is still not yet in my mail and you’ve been here smiling at your monitor since”
I didn’t know what to say so I chuckled.
“What’s funny” he said raising his voice.
“I’m already on it sir” I replied
“Oh, so you forgot or was your brain formatted over the weekend?” he asked angrily
“ This report was due Monday COB and you’re here daydreaming” he said storming back to his seat.

“Oooh, this man has come with his devilish reports again.” I muttered under my breath. So I quickly dug out the necessary figures and got to work glancing at my wrist watch intermittently.

Lilian’s text has been popping in my WhatsApp since morning with all forms of enquiries asking how work was going, if I had eaten....but this MPR report will not even let me reply her messages.

Friday morning I got to work to find an uneasy quietness in the office. People were gossiping in different scanty groups as if someone died, So I quickly pace to my unit to meet up with my colleagues.

“Jay how far, you don hear?” Mike my main man said approaching me.
“Hear what”? I asked already worried.
Apparently a downsizing had just happened and a lot of senior staff had been sacked overnight including my unit head. I was bemused. Even though we had our differences I still liked him and would never imagine that he could be affected in the retrenchment.

“This restructuring sef, someone gets to the office with a job in the morning and goes home jobless in the evening. “ I said shaking my head.
As I settled down to my desk, putting on my system mails were already flying in different directions.The resultant effect of this retrenchment was that I had to do the monthly MPR presentation myself.
Work had to go on I guess

As I was driving silently home after work, my eyes filled up with tears. How can an organization just sack people overnight? I just couldn’t even imagine what my unit head will be going through by now. Then my fone starts to ring. It was Samad, one of my homeboys.
“Guy it’s Friday na, we have been calling you” he said hastily
“Samad I’m in a bad mood right now, I will talk to you later” I said and cut the call
My phone kept ringing with different callers....

When it was apparent that the calls will drain my battery, I had to pick.
“Hi Jay? Is everything okay?” It was Lilian
So I had to tell her all that happened at work since morning.
“Hmmm so where are you?” she asked
“I’m on my way home” I replied
“ Let me take u out dear, you have too much on your mind already “ she said in the sexiest voice I’ve ever heard.

I just couldn’t resist the offer.
