MyopicMods:I think you don't understand what I was trying to say. You can't compare enugu and ibadan to Benin city when you are talking about economic activities because Benin city dwarfed them. |

The op is a sentimental prick. Kaduna should be higher than Ibadan and even Kano. Many don't know that Kaduna is the deputy capital of Nigeria. Enugu is not supposed to be there. It is a civil service town with migrant student population and full of retirees. Owerri should be on that list representing the south east. 2 Likes |

Igbosmoker: Ohkay, now I got your point. This your point is heavy but I hope you can back it up though I agree somehow of huge economic prowess going on in Benin. You maybe right anyway but can't say for now. 1 Like |

Cyberterror: Owerri ? Maybe everything now is a joke on nairaland where everyone even in midst of serious analysis comes in to type nonsense. Owerri can't even be listed even in the first 15. 4 Likes |

It is obvious OP hasn't been to Abuja, Abuja should be second on the list 2 Likes |

funnyboss: You obviously don’t travel. Going by your analysis, Aba and Onitsha are obviously more developed than Enugu,Ibadan and kaduna. With the volume of economic activities, concentration of building/real estate and population density, Enugu, Kaduna and Ibadan don’t come close to Aba and Onitsha. As an Afonja, the key aim of this thread is obviously to rate Ibadan ahead of Enugu, but from the back door. However, man can see through your deception. Owerri, Benin and Asaba will even trump Ibadan, going by your city standards measurement. Ibadan may only be bigger in size but doesn’t come close. Asaba and owerri have functioning and active airports man. Ibadan can’t sustain its and instead filled with largely uneducated, hungry, poverty stricken populace. Ibadan is only big but 95% mostly local and slum. The remaining 5% doesn’t compare to Enugu in anyway. Aba’s infrastructure may have been neglected but you cant underrate Aba. Aba is not different from some cities in mainland Lagos. Don’t even compare onitsha to IB. Onitsha is the second most densely populated city in Nigeria after Lagos. Finally, CBN rated Lagos, Kano, Rivers, Anambra and Abia as states with the most volume of economic activity. Not Oyo, Ogun or even Abuja. 10 Likes |

Cherez:companies don’t make a developed city... secondly companies in ogun state are spread into different semi urban towns in ogun state. Asides the companies in ogun state that are supplying Lagos, ogun is largely a concentration of towns. It’s just the younger brother of Ibadan. Agbara, shagamu, Ijebu, Ota are just towns.. Abeokuta is a disappointment, nothing to write home about. Just flyovers, dual lane roads and what else? Dirty and unhygienic environment, poor and uneducated people living with goat and fowl shit everywhere. Poor living standard with dilapidated buildings littered all over the town. And obviously rustic brown roofs. Abeokuta Just like Ibadan smells. The only decent city in the southwest outside Lagos is Akure. The rest are ewww. Noise closed 8 Likes |

MyopicMods:in terms of population Benin city is the 4th most populated in Nigeria. In education, they beat enugu hands down from uniben to igbinedion university. The oil and gas companies in Benin and Benin also housed nigeria palm industry |

Cyberterror:Boss I don't know of ibadan but Kano has overtook kaduna in the last few years although the margin is now little because kaduna is now catching up with it mates due to the the urban renewal of El rufai and I believe it will take back it place in a year or two because it's already a planned city by the brits 1 Like |
