Madam stop sayin dis just cus u want to save face for women society, its the glaring truth.

The moment a female child inherit the property of a family, jjst consider the property gone... i mean gone...

See this...

Mr john birthed mary alone.

Mary married Walegrin

Mary inherited a company named John's investment limited from her papa.

then papa dies...

Wale and Mary gave birth to Lysander

Lysander grows up to head the company "John's investment limited,

Dont forget that Lysander's full name is Olawale Lysander

After the demise of Mary (at old age now)

Lysander inherited the company fully.

Now Lysander wil b forced to change the company's namegrin

Den Lysander rename the company as Lysa investment limited

As u can see, the company has bn successfully moved from John's family to Olawale's family without much ado gringringrin

can u see now??

Use ur sense nacheesy
What's this one saying? Forced to change company name by who or what? You mistake Surname for Company name sir. grin. You know nothing about business! First not all privately owned companies are named after their owners. People use different names for their businesses the most important it proper documentations to claim the business.

Secondly Limited liability companies are hardly owned by one person. If there would be change of name it will be a general decision and won't be in the name of any member of board.

Lastly in documents, there are evidence of transfer of business or company for legal backings.

That said, why do you attach so much to what name a company bears and not how much growth it achieves? Last I checked any one, male or female can ruin a business with poor management.

I might not agree with the name change because it is not necessarily.

However, even if a woman inherits a company and handles it herself, the moment she passes it on to HER children bearing her husband's surname, it is in another 'family'. That is not to say her birth family no longer has a claim to it. And when they tell the story, they will mention the founders.

That is why succession lines is mostly patrilinear.

Even if a woman decides NOT to change her surname after she is married, she is still bearing her 'father's' (male) surname.

In summary, if given to either of two kids to do whatever they like with it:
1. A male child will keep it in the family (at least name wise)
2. A female child will move it to another family.

So we can safely say the whole motive behind having a male child instead a female is because of properties.
Na wa oooooo

Re: Why Do Nigerian Women Wish For A Male Child Whilst Pregnant by Femsyn(m): 8:33pm On Apr 22, 2020
I have a female child as my first, and wish for a boy for a second, and most likely final.

Reason: Variety, no other reason.
I'd always wanted a female as my first tho.

It's all fantastic when you debate gender, especially when you've never had to wait for years to conceive a child.

Next time, have this debate with a couple who have been waiting for the fruit of the womb for a minimum of 5years, and see how useless some opinions I see here are.

Our experiences sometimes limit how far we see. At the end, we realise a lot of things don't matter.

Generally speaking, this unwarranted importance allotted to the male gender, is one of the reasons we have half baked men everywhere. They assume leadership roles in families because they are males, not because they are actually fit to be leaders.

Parents unknowingly or deliberately pamper them growing up, by excusing them from responsibilities, while the female children undergo homefront leadership trainings.

This is really appalling.

So you are saying if you are engaging a lady, you would not agree with her EVEN IF what she is saying or her stance is correct?

Toor!?

Ok nice angle. It depends on the type of inheritance and what was inherited.A first name or a neutral name can be used depending on the persons involved.I don't even see the name as an issue as long as females get to inherit no qualms.

I am assuming that this 'inheritance' is landed/an organization/business/large stakes/shares.

The issue of a female inheriting is more of individual family differences.

And some others are lucky enough to grow the company to PLC and LTD that it is bigger than the owners e.g. The Coca-Colas, Apple, Guinness, Dangotes BUAs etc etc.

It's really astonishing the amount of counselling I've had to do for women who have sunken into depression after finding out the gender of their baby - and I've noticed most of these women are pregnant with girls.

The only time I encountered someone unhappy with a male pregnancy, was because she already had 3 boys and was desperate for a change the 4th time round.

Why is such mentality prevalent amongst our women? In fact, the way some of these pregnant women act makes me question if women hate their gender so much that they can't bear to bring in another of their kind into this world.

Very simple, they have observed how fellow women have became victims, aka giving birth to girls and the man who either kick her out for that or have side woman to try a male child

So having a male child sort of makes the ladies settle mentally

Sebi u saw it??

I bliv u saw it..

U should see it na!!

Didn't u see it ni??

I even wrote it in block letters..

I bliv u hav seen it naw.

Lemme burst u, infact, i bliv the first person to seek advice from is ur wife cus to me, u and ur wife are one even spiritually.

But b careful with women's input, many may lead a fellow to early grave.

There are some case that men and women's views would always be parallel to each other, in this scenario man should b wise enof to choose from the pieces of advice bn dished out by woman and dat is why WE ARE MEN grin

You and I knows that if you don't have a male child, your husband will nit give you rest if mind

So they wish to have a male child as first child then relax, whatever gender that follows after that is OK for the woman

But having a female child as first child, if the other ones, there is no male child, the worries gets bad

Even as the men knows that, they are the determinant of a child gender, through their chromosomes they ate still the ones giving their wives tension about male or no male child
