I only witnessed my third baby's birth.

My wife was in school and writing exams around her EDD for the 1st one. My sister and a lecturer cousin were in the same school too. My wife also had her female 1st cousin as room mate. The plan was to call me and to travel 4hrs to her as soon as she felt a sign. The sign came around 8 pm and that exact time, I was seriously in distress and stranded with a dead fuel pump coming back from my village. So going to her was not even an option. I only got home 2am tired and passed out without the car, she gave birth 3am. I took off around 5am fixed the car around 8am, came back home and picked my mum and started the 4hr journey and arrived 12noon just after my wife wrote her last paper. So she went from labour room to exam hall and then started a 4hr journey back home.

The second was also and unfortunate miss. I was away across country on work, took my annual leave, booked a flight 1week before her EDD just so i can be there. I had packed my bags and ready for my 10am flight but she gave birth 2am some 8hrs b4 my flight. So i only made it to take them home. Coincidentally, my ex girlfriend was the Snr Nurse on duty that delivered my child (not funny). My wife is still angry because she expected her to give a VIP treatment but the girl was just dodging her and would show up when she was summoned by others.

I witnessed the third which was the record baby that came at 4.3kg. The shout from my wife was just sending shivers through my spine. Women dey try, I swear.

They are 8, 6 and almost 2.
I seriously want him to witness the 3rd and final one because oga too dey make mouth say "no shaking" Sebi it's just like shitting hard shit. grin cheesy. If the labor is not too painful sef, I will add jara and exaggerate the whole thing for him to know it's not easy grin

I think it’s only in Africa where mother-in-law or wife’s mother needs to be around when the wife wants to deliver.
. They give the best care. They pamper you because they have passed through the stage and know what and how it feels. The stress that accompanies childbirth is on a whole new level, sleepless nights, baby crying at any little instance, most new mothers are naive when it comes to bathing newborns. Most new mothers even fall into depression (PTSD). So an elderly woman around is the best to be in charge

Please I have a question for the mothers....

They told me that many women, when in labor, the pain gets too much that they react emotionally.

They said they even insult thier husband.

Is there any truth in this?
Many women do it but it's not the best. I rather use the pain to bless my hubby and declare positively into the life of the baby coming because I believe whatever I say there with pain and agony either positive or negative will manifest and come to pass. I advise women against such, there is still life after labor and delivery

Whew your birth story has lighting my mood a bit so i will share mine.

My first delivery was a very tough one walahi it takes the grace of God for me not to lose my baby.

It started around some minutes to 6 that faithful day, i just prayed fajr prayer finished.
Immediately i stood to pack the prayer mat i realized that my water has broken so i told my husband to prepare and lets go to the hospital

I was checked and later sent home to do exercise for a few hours. But to be honest I can't do anything because the pain is unbearable. At some point my husband have to take me back to the hospital where I was given oxytocin. Oh my i wanted to run mad at that point,

Hubby had to start fanning me and begging me to control myself, the poor man has lost quite a lot of weight within 24 hours.

I later put to bed around 9pm that same day but my baby was very weak
It's the grace of God that actually safe her.

Fortunately i had another baby two years later but it was a hitch free delivery
My husband was not even around, he just came back to meet his bouncing baby waiting for him
that's why I respect mothers, it's not easy abeg

He fainted when the baby started coming out grin and since then accorded me such huge levels of respect because what he saw in the labour ward that day ehn.... He still tells me till this day that women who give birth are such powerful creatures because for them to go through the whole birth process and come out alive is amazing. grin grin

Nonsense. Giving birth is natural to all mammals even without assistance, like the biblical Hebrew women. Abeg let us hear word.

lol.
.
You can classify yourself as a mammal or animal or whatever you wish but how many of those animals have you heard that died during birth?? Naaa, only humans.

Biblical Hebrew women story was a lie told to prevent a calamity. Those women had given birth already but the midwives lied to Pharaoh.

I read every single reasonable comment on here smiling with teary eyes,to all the mothers and potential mothers out there,I love you and God bless you,I literally imagined what it will be like to have my own child with the love of my life.
I'm definite I'll cry the moment I see the flesh of my flesh, knowing that I and the Love of my life came together to form that child will be the happiest day of my life.
The bond will become stronger than ever coz you imagine two Humans creating another human? it's simple but it beats my imagination.
To all the Top tier clowns out here clowning there is no gain in portraying yourself like a ludicrous dumb fvck on the internet, you might think you're forming hard but real hard men are not scared to show empathy or emotions because their respect and actions speak for them, you have serious self esteem issues to deal with and I hope you get help soon.

What a nice topic.

Women are trying but immediately you start praising them their head will start swelling.

I could remember the day, i do give kudos to my wife because from the very first day to the last day of her pregnancy she do go to work and with the stress of work and even the traffic from ketu to shomolu every blessed day she never missed a day at work.

We both went to work on that faithful day and i got hope lil late on a Wednesday night, we talked about it how she was feeling and she said she was fine and we both went to bed, but around 12am she work me up that she is feeling somehow, I immediately called our nurse and ask her if the sign means delivery and she said since that is her first it might be, immediately my mind wasn’t settled but as a man I don’t want her to notice but i just used courage to control myself and i went to do ablution and pray to Allah for save delivery.

The nurse couldn’t sleep too though she wasn’t close to us but is is always calling and given me word of encouragement that first timer won’t come so fast like that and when is is 5am we both went to the hospital.

Around 9am noting yet happened but this time the doctor has examined her and put his hand inside to check the head of the baby and she came outside to meet me again, i was surprised again to see her cos the doctor told her to be walking up and down, i just left for my work for me to put somethings in place and i told her i will soon be back.

I got back around 12pm yet nothing as happened but the matron have asked of me immediately i got there they gave me a paper to go and get the drug which i got and still went back to work but i was always communicating with her on phone and non of our staffs notice something is happen cos i was calm and even made jokes but within me I couldn’t focus.

To cut the long story short i got back to the hospital and she as been moved to labour room but the doctor still gave me something to go and buy cos they dont av that medicine in the hospital , maybe that thing is something that they want to give her or insert to force the baby out i dont really know, about 45mins while i was still walking around for the drug she just called me to come that she have delivered.

Delivery isn’t something easy even during pregnancy woman experience many difficulties, and it makes me wonder how did those that gives birth to 10 children made it cos my grandmother gave birth to 10children, they will experience difficulty during pregnancy and during birth yet they keep on having many babies

Almighty God is the only one who can give answer to that cos doctors are only trying.

. i once asked my grandma about those who had 10 to 14 children, but she said olorun ma fi igbagbe si meaning God use to make them forget it somehow...(d pain of labor)

Wot wud u av done if u were in my shoes?, wud u rather take the bike being the only means of transportation u could get around 4am in ur street or stay by the roadside or in the house and give birth there without any prior experience of childbirth because u don't want to climb a bike, my sister I bet u won't even know when u will jump on the bike so u can get it done with
