Is it right for a bornagain sis to marry a divorced Christian bro that the ex wife is still alive?
As in, lets say the Bro is a real believer but just got out of a young marriage not up to a year due to infidelity issues.
If the brother has been refunded the dowry and other things. Is he free to remarry. And if he's a pastor.

Please urgent answers from mature ones.
Thank you.

Yes, let's wait for the "Spiritually Mature Christians". Free popcorns for the amatuer Christians, Atheists, Traditionalists, Buddhist, Rastafarians, Universalists...and others.

First I will like u to be a bit more coherent so it can be easily understood.
If I understand your post, a Christian brother just got divorced traditionally and wants to marry a born again Christian sister.
The morality of what is right and wrong in it is an issue of perception... If the folks involved are really born again spirit filled people, then they must ought to be led by the spirit of God. In which case they both should know the morality of what they want to do... The Holy Spirit isn't an author of confusion.
That being said, the issue of being led, is a function of maturity as a born again xtian by degree of yieldedness of the believer. So to the degree a person is totally yielded to the spirit, is the degree to which the spirit can lead the person.
I judge no man as to what is right or wrong, but I know, that everyone knows especially in issues about the opposite sex, when they are living according to the flesh and when it's done spirit they are yielding to.

I want us to consider the fact that Bible says let the bro remain unmarried as long as the ex wife is alive. Does that not come to play here? According to bro Paul.

Yes he just got divorced traditionally. They did Church too.

Thanks for your input.

As long as the ex is still alive and u cannot swear that he caught his ex wife in adultery, keep off. the bible is very clear on that, lest u find urself committing adultery for the rest of ur life

Again, if the sister where to be my friend and she's not desperate for marriage, and she's in love with the guy, the issue here isn't the morality of the action... But the veracity of the claims....
First..how long has this bro being outside his marriage before hooking up and proposing to this sister?

Secondly... Have u made efforts as a sister to get the woman's views? Or side of the story?
Or have u judged her already?

Thirdly.... It seems to me like the sister is more concerned about people's perception than her own core beliefs and ideas about marriage and the sort of marriage she wants to build...

Apostle Paul was speaking to the church in admonition to how they where supposed to live. I believe it was a sound doctrine he preached.
But hear Jesus himself "But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery." Matt 5:32

Yes. It was on the bases of Infidelity like I said earlier on.

Sexual immorality is a ground for divorce on many factors... But, how about the 490 times a day we are supposed to forgive our brothers?
How about love being long suffering?
My dear I am a man and I know how painful it can be for ur spouse to cheat but I am more fearful of breaking a vow I made with God as witness, holding me accountable than I care what people will say.
Like I said, it's down to yieldedness.
Lemme give u a few clues:
Ecc.5
When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it. ... And do not protest to the [temple] messenger, "My vow was a mistake."lest should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands?

Divorce is very much an option my dear.. I will never be in an abusive relationship, I will never support one,
All I am saying is that before the divorce, sufficient moves must have been made to reconcile and repair the union. Even the law court does takes ample time to ratify divorces... You will be told that the duty of the court is to explore all avenues to heal the union and only on grounds of irreconcilable differences are divorces granted.
As xtians, then we must not only do but let it be seen to be done that everything was done to save the soul of the defaulter before such a one is being cast off
So in essence, for me, a marriage less than a year has no reason to be annulled even sexual immorality won't suffice if the man is a practising xtian. Remember our standard is supposed to be higher than the world standards at least. Ask urself if it was d man cheating won't the woman be encouraged to stay even by other pastors wives? Marriage isn't for boys and maturity isn't a function of age.

Finally... I will that men and women of faith will understand that the wedding as a ceremony isnt different from traditional oath taking.
Europeans get a priest under a tree to exchange vows and break it the next month and move on... But u a believer, go to God's altar, stand and call God as a witness to swear that u will stay with someone in whatever way till u die, calling God as a witness, and u want to divorce just like that? It shows how much regard u have for God almighty.
Go to a diety shrine in anambra and try that. They can't... Yet it's easy to divorce and u think God is pleased and will understand u...
God has no pleasure in fools...
Be careful who u take or go with to the altar. God holds u accountable.

True Christians don't divorce for any reason apart from adultery! Matthew 19:8-9

Jesus' order is that a Christian mustn't marry someone else as long as his/her ex lives! Matthew 5:32; Romans 7:3; 1Corinthians 7:10

All those who engages in such acts knowingly or unknowingly can't inherit God's kingdom! Galatians 5:19; Hebrew 13:4

When his followers heard Jesus' opinion on this same issue they exclaimed "it's not advisable to marry!" Matthew 19:10

They said this because from the look of things Jesus wants every man to view his wife as his own Eve and every woman to view her man as Adam! Matthew 19:4-6

Of course Adam had no option if he got tired of Eve {Genesis 2:22-24} so spouses shouldn't think of a day when they'll get tired of each other if they want to use their lives to bring praise to God's holy name! Matthew 6:9 compare to Malachi 2:13-16

May God bless you! smiley

My sister, there r many misinterpretations about marriage, separation and divorce in the body of Christ and many of the so called Christians or even pastors will give u 1001 reasons y u can divorce on d ground of infidelity or any other reasons just to justify their own selves or flesh. But the God's words stands in Romans 7:2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 7:3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Also from what others have quoted in ecclesiastic 5 when u make a vow to God, see that u stand by it.
Also if the brother is a born again believer and who is on his way to heaven, he can always make his marriage work by forgiving the wife. Maybe that is his own cross for not depending on the Holy Spirit or praying very well before marriage. So as Pilgrims, for no reason or any reason must u marry a brother or sister whose bride price has been paid n he or she is divorced whether it was Traditional marriage or White wedding. Shalom

you just say they are divorced.
There is nothing wrong in marrying a divorced person or do you expect anyone to stay unmarried simply because he or she is divorced?

Please use your conscience, forget all these religious doctrines.

Jesus explained that the only ground for divorce is infidelity and there must be established fact to that effect!

Any other reason could lead to separation, but none of them has Christ's consent for remarrying. They must work out ways for reconciliation!

Granted, many do things their own way and claim God approves it since they don't die at the spot, but Jesus referred to them as workers of iniquity indicating that whatever they might achieve in the course never had God's backing or blessing! Matthew 7:21-23 smiley

If the sister was lead by God to marry the brother no problem if not she should forget about him. Why did the brother live the marriage in the first place.

If she was being led by the holy spirit to marry the brother then there's no problem. If the sister is the careful the same brother may divorce her later for a minor issue

I think he divorced her on infidelity grounds.

How can one be led to marry someone? Is it like a spiritual force propelling you or you just liking Someone?
Thanks

Marriage is beautiful institution. In fact the best place to be just like the garden of Eden. It's like heaven on earth but humans changed it just like Adam and Eve n now u have different teachings n erroneous views about it. All marriages can be reparable and that's y u need to marry not just a Christian but a born again. Not just a born again Christian but a spirit filled Christian n not just a spirit filled Christian but a matured spirit filled Christian.
