Haruna, from your name I could tell your faith. The problem is not your faith, the problem is YOU!

In public service there is need to carry everyone along and make them feel part and parcel of administration irrespective of faith or ethnicity.

Why are some of you like this? How would you feel if your father call his kids for meeting and left you behind?

Faith has nothing to do with public service. You should be calling out people based on their merits or otherwise.

El Rufai is working hard in KD and for us that's enough.

first, you must understand that kaduna state is a Muslim state.. Christains has only governed the state once. So if you look critically it means all those tallies you have written above are incorrect. Let us look at Zangon kataf local government,i have been there morethan you i can remember, the local government is seperated into two,Muslims in different part and christains in the other part. There are local government in kaduna you hardly find a christain,if you find them they are not of to 2% there. Go to Lere and see muslims especially Fulanis. So from above this am even so surprise to see kaduna governors given a christain a deputy governor. States like kano, sokoto, katsina and the rest dont do that. And local government like Igabi, kaduna south, zaria are 4 times larger than southern kaduna local governments in terms of population. So you cant expect to see equality in political appointees. Nigeria has been drived by this religion-political problems since independence. My view every state should be govern by the largest religion there.

The christians in kaduna, sponsored by CAN, spent several years demonizing El Rufai as a rabid Muslim fanatic on the basis of some comments he made, which were then twisted by CAN and its media wing to portray Mallam in a bad light. There's nothing Mallam has said that's any worse than what many pastors such as Suleiman say all the time and none of them were deemed out of line by CAN.

Mallam was harassed and embarrassed when he visited kafanchan to commiserate with the people after a clash.

The blood thirsty christians of kasuwan magani started a genocide that saw hundreds of Muslims slaughtered, and the christians blamed Mallam. Then later when the Agom was kidnapped by highwaymen and later murdered, christians completely blamed Mallam and were silent over the hundreds of Muslims kidnapped daily on the highways.

During the elections CAN hatched a plot to ensure every single christian voted PDP to kick Mallam out, and they bought into the lie that kaduna is 50% christian.

Well the results have clearly shown that christians are a minority because they failed to dislodge mallam.

And you lie that there's no christian in a powerful position in the government. Samuel Aruwan is the commissioner for interior and security. That's a powerful position.

As long as CAN and the christian minorities in kaduna will assume an antagonistic position then they'll have to contend with the status they chose for themselves.

You're trying to create an unnecessary controversy because of attention. You should be more concerned with what your Wike is doing in your own neck of the woods.

Is Isa Ashiru, the PDP Candidate a Christian or CAN member? Why didn't Elrufai marginalise people of his religion?

Are you saying Elrufai has no supporters among Christian population? Even the Kaduna state APC Chaieman? Even the former Deputy Governor Bala Bantex? Even among the various APC council leaders in Southern Kaduna?

Finally, how would you feel if the table was turned?

Stop comparing apples and oranges. How can you give Benue as an example of a state with considerable Muslim population. Indigenous Muslims are a very minute part of Benue state. Benue has 23 LGAs just like Kaduna but you can't point out just even 1 out of that 23 LGAs in Benue that's predominantly Muslim unlike Kaduna where Southern Kaduna with 8 LGAs is dominated by Christians. So the OP has a valid point.

Lere LGA majority Christians? that line made me laugh. Someone from south south giving analysis in a place he has never lived in his life. Lere has 11 wards, Christians have some population in (6) wards namely Garu (district head is a muslim), Abadawa (Muslim district head), Lazuru (50/50), Saminaka (LGA HQR with Muslim First class ruler), Sabon birni (muslim district head, Dan Alhaji ( Muslim district head) and Gure/Kahugu ward; With Gure been typical Christians and Kahugu (Muslim/Christian).

Then he mentioned Kauru LGA , this LGA has 3 chiefdoms Hausa/Fulani, Chawai and Kumana Chiefdoms. Hausa/fulani are predominantly muslims , same with Chawai while Kumana are either Christians or idol worshippers.

Two zones in Kaduna are predominantly muslims (a bitter pill to swallow for some) while the other zones are mostly Christians (80% ogogoro drinkers ). These guys that block major highways, select out muslims and kill them. This is the reason for under development in their areas. For those asking I have worked around such areas in Kaduna state. Major reason they don't enter southern kaduna is insecurity. In democracy majority carry the day , its not me that define it like that.

This alone brakes Nairaland rules on information.

We have considerable muslims population in plateau, taraba and yet they don't even produce a deputy governor.

Abeg El-rufai carry on

The OP just wrote what he thinks is right which in reality is very wrong. I’m not even sure if he’s been in kaduna because kaura, kauru and kagarko has larger muslim population than the christians. You’re very clueless for you to come here and call elrufai a religious and tribal bigot. It’s only in kaduna state you can find hausa, igbo and yoruba cabinet. Have you ever seen a yoruba person or hausa person in Portharcourt state cabinet. Or have you seen hausa person held any position in Lagos state. So your points are baseless and you’re the bigot here.

El-Rufai is a wicked, tribalistic bigot that must not be given more power than he has.

He has made several statements regarding the Boko Haram crisis, Fulani herdsmen crisis and others that proved so.

His wife and children hates the Igbos with a passion and they make tribalistic statements about them on Twitter.

They don't even rate the Yorubas at all.

Such a wicked, crafty man will be more dangerous than Buhari at the helm of affairs.

He might be more educated and sound than Buhari, but that doesn't make him less of a dangerous bigot.

As for those mentioning Wike, two wrongs don't make a right. One of the reasons why Nigeria won't progress is that people always turn a blind eye to their own party while criticising others.

People like El-Rufai are the ones giving Buhari evil idea,
El-Rufai is 10 times worst than Buhari.

When he was the minister of FCT,
He used his power to chase Southern Nigerians out of rural villages in Abuja,
He destroyed the houses of Christians from Southern Nigeria while leaving the houses of Muslims.
Obasanjo was their as president but didn't know what's going on.
10yrs later I went to that area and found out that El-Rufai didn't build any project in Gwagwa and others, he stylishly sack all the Southerners including Edo Muslims,
Those area are full Muslim area today.

THE BRAZEN ACT OF MARGINALISATION OF CHRISTIANS IN KADUNA STATE BY GOVERNOR ELRUFAI

By Tamunotonye Inioribo @TonyeBarcanista

Kaduna state, a beautiful state located in the heart of the northwest, is popularly referred to as a miniature Nigeria. This is because the state has a sharp religious demographical spread of Islam and Christianity adherents between the northern and southern zones of the respectively similar to what is obtained in Nigeria.

Muslim-Christian Demography
Kaduna has 23 local government areas spread across the northern senatorial zone, central senatorial zone and southern senatorial zone. Twelve of these 23 local government areas are predominantly Muslims while eleven are predominantly Christians. The state is also constitutionally divided into three senatorial zones, namely; northern, central and southern zones.

The northern senatorial zone, also called zone 1, consists of eight local government areas namely; Ikara, Kudan, Kubau, Lere, Makarfi , Sabon-Gari, Soba and Zaria local government areas. Of the eight local government areas in this zone, only Lere local government area is predominantly Christian, while the other seven are predominantly Muslims.

The central senatorial district, also called zone 2, is made up of seven local government areas namely; Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Giwa, Igabi, Kaduna north, Kaduna south and Kajuru local government areas. All of these seven local government areas are predominantly Muslims except Chikun and Kajuru local government areas that are predominantly Christians.

The southern senatorial zone, also called zone 3, is made up of eight local government areas. They are; Jaba, Jama'a, Kachia, Kagarko, Kaura, Kauru, Sanga and Zango-Kataf local government areas. All these eight local government areas in this zone are predominantly Christian.

The official population of Kaduna state was put at 6,113,503 with spread as follows;
Northern Zone (Zone 1)
Ikara LGA -194,723
Kubau LGA - 280,704
Kudan LGA - 138,956
Lere LGA - 339,740
Makarfi LGA - 146,574
Sabon-Gari LGA - 291,358
Soba LGA - 291,173
Zaria LGA - 406,990
Total: 2,090,218
Central Zone (Zone two)
Birnin-Gwari LGA 258,581
Chikun LGA - 372,272
Giwa LGA - 292,384
Igabi LGA - 430,753
Kaduna North LGA - 364,575
Kaduna South LGA - 402,731)
Kajuru LGA - 109,810
Total: 2,231,106
Southern Zone (Zone three)
Jaba LGA - 155,973
Jama’a LGA - 278,202
Kachia LGA - 252,568
Kagarko LGA - 239,058
Kaura LGA - 174,626
Kauru LGA - 221,276
Sanga LGA - 151,485
Zangon-Kataf LGA - 318,991
Total: 1,792,179

From official population as seen above, the Muslim predominant north has 2,090,218, the central zone has 2,231,106 population and the Christian predominant south zone has 1,792,179 population, but there is no official fact to ascertain the true population of Christians and Muslims in the state. Nonetheless, the state governor, mallam Nasir Elrufai, a Muslim from the northern senatorial district, argued that the religious demography in the state is 70-30 in favor of the Muslims. The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), the umbrella body of the predominately Christian southern Kaduna people, put the religious demography at 50-50. While neutral observers posited that the religious demography in Kaduna state should be between an evenly 50-50 spread, or a 55-45 spread favor of the Muslims.

Political Marginalization Under Governor Nasir Elrufai
Despite the predominance of the Christian population in eleven out of the twenty three local government areas, the Kaduna state government under Governor Nasir Elrufai, a Muslim, chose to perpetuate a brazen act of marginalisation by excluding the state's Christian population from participating in the affairs of the government since the commencement of his second term. For the first time in the history of Kaduna state, no Christian is found in any of the principal positions across the three arms of government and the civil service.

Governor Nasir Elrufai started the marginalisation in 2018 when he broke the traditional Muslim-Christian ticket or Christian-Muslim ticket in any gubernatorial contests to nominate Hajiyya Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, a fellow Muslim as his running mate for the 2019 gubernatorial election after his former deputy, Arc Bala Bantex, a Christian, opted to run for the Senate to represent the people of Kaduna south senatorial district under the platform of All Progressive Congress.

After his victory at the hotly contested Kaduna state 2019 gubernatorial election against Honourable Ashiru Kudan of Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Elrufai shut out Christians in the state from the running of government. This he did by ensuring that only Muslims are appointed as senior principal officers in the government. This is aside the fact that himself and the deputy governor are Muslims.

The principal government officers are;
Secretary to the State Government - Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal
Chief of Staff to the Governor - Muhammad Sani Abdullah
Kaduna state Head of Service - Hajiyya Bariatu Yusuf Mohammed
Principal Private Secretary - Dr. Salisu Suleiman.

No Christian Among The Entire Presiding And Principal Officers In Kaduna House of Assembly
The marginalisation continues in the legislative arm of government with no single Christian as a member of any of the presiding and principal offices . The Speaker of the House, Honourable Yusuf Tanimu Zailani, the Deputy Speaker Honourable Muktar Isa Hazo, the Majority Leader Alhaji Haruna M A Inuwa, the Chief Whip, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi, the Deputy Majority Leader Alhaji Shehu Yunusa and Deputy Chief Whip Alhaji Salisu Isah, are all Muslims. Meanwhile, the clerk of the Kaduna state House of Assembly, Bello Zubairu is also a Muslim.
Also The Judiciary...
The head of Kaduna state judicial arm of government and Chief Judge of the state, Justice Muhammad Lawal Bello, is also a Muslim.
As if that is not enough, the only two ministers from Kaduna state in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, Zainab Ahmed, the minister of finance, and Muhammad Mahmoud, the minister of environment were chosen from the Muslim population.

The development in Kaduna state is indeed a bad omen. It is bad that a state with significant Christian population that are predominant in eleven out of the state's twenty three local government areas, has no senior principal government official across all the three arms of government of the state. What is more disturbing is that Governor Nasir Elrufai, the perpetrator of this brazen act of religious marginalization in Kaduna state, is aspiring to run as presidential candidate at the Nigeria's Presidential election at the termination of his second term in 2023.

This is a very good point that you have raised but many people here will not see anything good in your write up. Most of the nairaland members nowadays are teenagers who are still depending on their parents and those ones who are grown-up are filled with different sentiments. So, I will advise you to publish this on a different forum or on popular newspapers if you want a solution to what is happening in Kaduna.

I was born and bred in Kaduna, although I am from the west. I spent 35 years in that state before I left Nigeria. So, I am fully aware of the marginalisation.
You see, the Kaduna state did not mainly belong to these Hausa people, it belonged to the Gwari people and those from the south. But Hausa people came as visitors and began to dominate and conquer most of their regions. All those places dominated by the Hausas today were dominated by the indigenous people who are Christians. This is why Hausas and Fulani must not be allowed in the west or east or south, otherwise, in no time they will spread their tentacles and fight for dominance. Places like Rigasa, Angwar Rimi, Angwar Muazu, Tudun Wada, Birni Gwari, Zaria to mention but a few were populated by the Christians before but the visitors they allowed among them have driven them out and took their lands.

Regarding the Kaduna state politics, most of the learned Christians in that state are not the indigenes, they came from other states to do business and they settle there. While the real indigenous people who are supposed to team up and fight for their political rights are struggling with the spirit of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus with a kiss. The only time you will see them together as one is during a crisis. Their young men, old ones, women and children will join hand together and fight their enemies. I wish they could practise this fellowship in politics but it is difficult. Their leaders have sold and are still selling them. And this is what El Rufai and the likes are taking advantage of.

The Christian bodies in Kaduna state and some of their sensible leaders have tried to speak about the marginalisation of the Christians but no one cares to listen because it was a long term fulfilled agenda and their principal force is the one "ruling" the country.
Late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa who would have been a major voice was logically killed. Another man was Isaiah Ballat, I can't remember his full name again.
Bala Bantex, the former deputy governor had issues with the governor about his system of governance in the state and it led to physical combat between them. He slapped him and he returned it back. This was the major reason he was ousted. Elrufai did not want anyone to oppose him and that is why he chose a Muslim woman to deputise him.
Imagine, churches are paying electricity and water bills in Kaduna state but mosques are using these freely. I have a lot to tell about Kaduna but I will stop here.
Please, publish your article on a better forum where you can see like-minded people.

Ignorance is killing you people.

Who told you they are not complaining?
Do you know that Southern Kaduna a Christian dominated region is the most terrorized in Nigeria?
When you hear of killings going on in Nigeria,,, the Christians are more than 90% of those being killed.
I have friends from Southern Kaduna and it's during the religious crisis/riot that they panic. Most of them even voted Buhari and called Goodluck Jonathan clueless and incompetent. Buhari and El Rufai are doing a great job!

Truly, religion can make even a PhD holder stupid!

All this talk of either Christian or Muslim being marginalized is pretty dumb. The question is does one's religion make him a good person or will it guarantee good governance?

So what does it have to do with anything? All the people responsible for damaging our dear country come from all the religions.

The mumu should have spoken about the discrimination of HND against BSC at least that would have made sense.
