You are damn funny, Did you just say use facemasks? Don't you go out on the streets to see how non compliant Lagosians are? A lot of people do not value their lives thereby putting the lives of those who value their lives at risk!

The only language Nigerians understand is "Force" we gotta learn the hard way , we have sworn to be defiant and non compliant then we have to be locked up once again so as to protect those who are vulnerable from getting infected !

You also talk about the economy! Awww what a kind way to show how much you love the economy, ECONOMY MY FOOT! T
The economy u love so much is being manhandled by the ruling elits who plunder and loot from the proceeds of the economy, while the poor man on the street is left to die!

My parting words to you seun DO NOT WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT THE ECONOMY BECAUSE WHEN THE ECONOMY GOES DOWN , GOVERNMENT KNOWS HOW TO REVIVE THE ECONOMY, WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND THE LIVES OF THOSE YOU LOVE BECAUSE WHEN THEY ARE LOST, GOVERNMENT HAS GOT NO CLUE ON HOW TO REVIVE THEM.

A HEALTHY LIFE IS A HEALTHY ECONOMY!

I would have ordinarily support lockdown but with our testing capacity of just 29, 408 which means if our population of 200M is taking into consideration 1 out of every 6,800 is being tested. Which is very bad.
The essence of lockdown is for you to buy time and stay ahead of the virus and why doing this your people will not take the whole brunt of the hardship as you are expected to make provision for them why testing rapidly.
We might have no choice but to live with the virus for now as we are not known to get anything right. This is a choice between economy and health..which is a bigger risk to take?

You don't sound wise enough. Look Lockdown will still cause crowds at Banks and busstops etc. The government should implement strict wearing of facemasks in public places at all times and every business must have sanitizer for it's customers

Oga Seun don vex.

Valid points, but how many Nigerians will obey these Science based rules though?

Without a lockdown, a massive spread is inevitable.

You're living in fantasy land. I tell you, if this country implodes there will not be enough policemen and soldiers to prevent anarchy. You will look for a rock to hide under and find none.

The goverment supported Covid 19 battle is long lost. The only thing left is to transfer liability to the citizens the same way ebola and HIV was handled. Manage the crises on the streets. The higher the death count the better citizen compliance will be until the figures stabilize.

This is Nigeria where motorists, people, market places, etc have thrown caution to the wind. Are you not in Lagos to see how people disregard simple instruction to wear nose mask and observe social distancing?

I don't like the lockdown idea but if it is to correct the stubbornness of people, Lagos should enforce it with immediate effect.
Lock down is not the solution. It is a fact that lock down alone does not work. All they need to do is to build structures that will enforce social distancing etc. How many hand sanitizing stations did they build? How many face masks or shields did they distribute? Are they making sure that companies that are open ( banks)are complying with the safety regulations?

Health issue is a generally issue be it pandemic, epidemic or otherwise. Govt should enforce whatsoever laws in their disposal to contain this pandemic without public media opinion via voting

Salary earners who have not lost their jobs yet, single people who work online, essential workers, etc, will vote yes. Most others would vote no.

A lockdown is the most brainless way to fight the Coronavirus. Our leaders need to use their wits and imagination to figure out better, smarter ways.

We cannot afford to wreck the economy by locking it down. If we wreck the economy then where will we get the money needed to fight the virus?

Yet, we cannot afford to allow lots of people to get sick and be killed by the virus. The fear of being infected is enough to wreck the economy.

The only way forward is to use face-masks and enforce science-based infection minimization rules to protect lives and also protect the economy.

It is crucial to understand that, as a poor country with a large population, we don’t have the luxury of choosing between saving lives and saving the economy. If we lose one, we will surely lose the other.

Rightly said, however Lagosians are very disobedient.

I am afraid of what will happen in the next few months, because of disobedience. When you tell people social distancing in some places, they make fun of you and call you names. Lagosians arè not listening and adhering to the use of face masks, social distancing, e.t.c.

People wèar face masks on their chins, foreheads, necks, ears. Markets, Supermarkets, filling stations, banks, e.t.c are not even obeying the social distancing laws.

If people do not do the neèdful, I can tell you that the people will proceèd on lockdown by themselves and th economy will still b affectèd. The government will not nèèd to enforce it.

Coro will be with us for a long time, is this how we will continue the lockdown, even for a year...you people should think...who will pay your rent?

Rent will pass, coffins are permanent. Since Nigerians have refused to obey the conditions for easing the lockdown we have 2 options;

- open the state completely and accept that many people are going to die.

- lockdown until a vaccine or cure is found or the disease stops spreading.

If we could simply obey then we wouldn't have to make the above choices. If we choose number one nobody who falls victim should complain.

Like what measures? Everybody is just complaining this and that. What best way should the governor handle it? There is no compliance at all. At this time of the night, 3rd mainland bridge to ikorodu is still heavy with traffic. People are not putting on face mask. Police is not doing nathing. Everyone is just fade up on our lawless we are.
People are still outside running around.

You cannot lock down healthy people. The more you keep ppl at home they weaker their immunity is. And once you release them they go out and get sick. Let the sick stay home and the healthy go and work. The virus has a low mortality rate. Other countries are restarting their economies, you are asking Nigerians to stay home and do what? Wait until a miracle drops from heaven? Over 90 percent of people who get the virus get better and they become immune to it. Dont let the media deceive you that it's a death sentence

stay inside your house, if you jobless people stay inside the crowd outside will reduce...if you idiots can not use mask and abide by social distancing...why do you care if others die?

Which lockdown? Pray which country has solved this corona issue with lockdown? Lockdown is not the solution if it is people would have stopped dying in the USA, during the last lockdown wasnt the rate of infection and death increasing? After the ease of lockdown hasnt the rate of death decreased, please think outside the box, lockdown is not a panacea, if you destroy the economy you will realize that your fear of death is only because you are comfortable, in the face of total chaos, you will look for death! STOP PLAYING WITH THE ECONOMY THINK VENEZUELA! THINK ZIMBABWE!!
Did you know that influenza killed about 50 million people and affected over 500 million worldwide? Just between 1918 and 1919. The reason is because there was no lockdown and social distancing.

The situations are still the same, mankind is fighting an unseen enemy.
There is a choice to be made; good health or economic well-being?
Igbos who are know for their pursuit for economic well being still recognized that “ndu ka aku”

Looooooooooooooooooool, this is quite funny. Were they asked to provide their LASSRA ID card or Lagos state tax clearance? How sure is the governor that those commenting live in Lagos?

It's a social media for heaven's sake, people from ALL OVER THE WORLD could have commented. In that case, trust those abroad and outside Lagos to vote yes. Some for the good of the people and others just to spite lagosians.
