You did the right thing. Is to accept a job by force? Manage your in-laws wisely. |

Amya: Your relationship with your husband needs an adjustment. You should be able to tell him HIS SISTER IS A SCAMMER without him taking offense. You should even be able to tell him HIS MOTHER IS A WITCH without him taking offense. He even blamed you for not falling for it. SMH Very poor of you. Do something about your relationship before they turn his head. Believe me, they are working on it. Shalom. |

@Amya Since he believes it is genuine ,why not call your sister in-law and apologize and tell your hubby to pay her the money. But make sure you let him know what your instincts tells you so at the end you can tell him "I told you so" . Dem say dog wey wan loss not dey hear e master whilstle I think that is where your husband is at the moment. Something as clear as day light ,your husband still can't see it,na wah o. Seems his people are in control of his reasoning. 1 Like |

The problem with women/ladies is that you people worry too about what people feel or think about you even when you're doing the right thing. |

You acted wisely but lately . Your husband is the closest to you and the money is coming from him. You should have carried him along from the beginning. Your good heart caused you harm. |

All I read here is the rot in our system where jobs are sold. Please next time when you wonder why nothing works and our public service is filled with mediocre staff, remember that you can buy jobs rather than pass a rigorous selection process Next time you wish to wail that corruption is killing the country, remember you played a part by paying for a job that other people toiled for years studying hard to get! 4 Likes |

I had learnt since 1900 to defect scam and scammers. I don't fall easily for such scams. If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably scam. |

Bola146: Calling someone you don't even know a fool and going far of rebelling their mother a fool as well is really amazing and your a woman.... BTW this is a one sided story and the Sister in law may don't know anything of the scam if there's any because of the way they portraited the offer.... It's just like a traveling Agent who told one of your family member that he or she has a slot of a certain country... That your family member informed you but you don't like that particular country and you tell them your choice and when that your family member talk to them and tell him/her that they have such offer as well and that your family member get back to you regarding it , you started accusing him/her that they are part of the plans.... It's very unfair to call those people fools because you don't know the level of trust and bond they share in that family... |

Her mum calling you is disrespectful to herself. Said Sister in law doesn't respect herself either. You played it cool and matured too. Nothing bad in aiming for better places. |

DrDax: What's with you nairaland guys and trying desperately to fault women in any post concerning them. How can i in good conscience tell my husband that his sister is trying to scam us? Do you know the blowout that could happen from it? The bad blood that may be forever csused by such accusstion? Yeah my sil was trying to pull a con, but she's not the devil. Even now, I respect her and still relate well with her especially as she didnt succeed. The way i did it was the best because even now, everything has died down. Pkatakpata they'd only say i was too big to take the job offer. That itself isn't a sin 4 Likes 1 Share |

GboyegaD: I don't know why you are judging and rebelling her sister law as a scammer , she might not have hand in it , probably a friend was telling her about the slot and it's happening everywhere within Nigeria... |

Amya:Saying that it doesn't/won't bother you if she went to her brother(your husband) directly without involving you is where I am actually worried.. If you try to scam my husband in anyway, you have as well scammed me and vice versa... If I look away, and you succeeded in scamming my family's future away, I won't forgive myself. Your spouse downfall is your downfall, same way his/her success is also yours. Secure/protect your finances jointly because at the end of the day, it's the family's resources and it is going to suffer/enjoy the consequences as the case maybe... And to people that scam their loved ones, you all are even worse than those yahoo boys. Because I don't know how you will look into the eyes of people you have shared the good and bad times together and still have the heart to cause them pains...... Na wa o 2 Likes |

If your husband have some 500k lying around, what job are you looking for again? If he can easily be fleeced of such amount and is willing to pay with it. |

Amya: You did well Don't mind them and their stupidity She wants to cause rancour within the family putting you on the front line but thank God it didn't work Assuming she succeeded in getting the money and nothing happened with the job For you to get the money back, it will never be possible and the cold War will be tougher on you guys Let her look else where By the way why you or all people why not someone else, that means she wants your hubby money but wants to use your name Next time let her deal directly with your hubby if she is real 3 Likes |
