What does the law state in Ogun concerning rape? If the minimum sentence is 2 years then the Judge is not at fault. 9ja people we really need all our new generation lawyers and legislators to revamp the justice system and the outdated codes. Imagine someone stole tomatoes and they sentenced him to 7 years but someone that rapes a minor is sentenced to only 2....E be like magic

I am disappointed that a woman judge gave this kind of verdict, by giving the accused just 2 years for raping an 8 yr girl. Then, why wouldn't these men keep raping if 2 yrs is just what they can get. Too bad.

If I tell you say,am disgusted at this news,you won't blame me:just 2??its absurd!this is an open invitation by the judicial system,encouraging more offenders!with the irrepairable damage to the psych of the child,this act ought to have merited,the hammer being dropped on the rapist!don't handle these acts with indifference,if we wish to eradicate these acts of rapes!if jail terms can't be made steep(up to 30years,minimal),then death sentence should be appropriate.Stop rape,with serious punitive measures and watch it slide off our societies

The judge said the case has been proven beyond doubt then went ahead to give only 2 years? Hmmm. Lawyers come and explain o. Abi rape is not a crime in Nigeria again? Why treat him like he evaded tax or something? Rape sentence should be up there with armed robbery.
